❁ Katari & Severin ❁

For the chapter title I really couldn't decide if Katari & Severin sounded better or if Severin & Katari did instead 😬

🎶 I need a girl to ride, ride, ride

Chapter Twenty Five

"Whatcha mean you've been dreaming about a married woman even though you have a girlfriend?"

"It's not that deep, Layla Grace." Severin sighed, he was talking to his sister through FaceTime in the sitting room.

Jordan Francis and DeVante had just had a go at him as he was going to the sitting room.

Severin was now sitting on a chair in front of a table really thinking about his life.

Since everybody else in the room had seemed to be mad at him and he had no one else to turn to, he had therefore called Layla Grace (who was played by China Anne McClain).

In a way Severin had kind of forgotten she had existed. Ever since he had been at the retreat, the thought of talking to his sister had not really crossed his mind at all.

Until now.

"It's very deep, Severin. You cannot be unhappy with Serayah and not tell her about it! Not just that but you also didn't tell her that you were spending late nights with Solana."

"The late nights have stopped now. Jordan Francis said that I can't talk to her and I don't exactly blame him."

He had no way of knowing if Severin had talked to Solana or not.... but he didn't want to go against his wishes at the same time.

"Fix yourself, aight?" Layla had said to him through the phone and he nodded. "Serayah may be annoying at times but she's one of my best girls. And you two are still together until you break up. So you haven't exactly separated yet."

He understood that, with both of them exchanging their I love yous and they hung up almost simultaneously.

Katari had never really spoken to Severin and she had learnt a lot about him in five minutes than she had done with some people in ten years.

The first thing she had learnt was the fact that...

Oh my gosh! She had gasped to herself behind the wall. He has antidepressants?

He was having some now with water.

She knew Severin was unhappy but not as far as having antidepressants. Hopefully he didn't have any intrusive thoughts either.

That would have sucked.

She didn't blame Severin for being depressed though. Even though she was pretty nice, Serayah had seemed like a handful at the same time.

She had to talk to Severin before he had done anything stupid.

So leaving her hiding place from behind the wall, she had gone to tap him and he jumped.

"Oh my gosh Katari, don't you dare do that again, you scared me!" He had complained, then he frowned.

"Are you spying on me?"

"No I wasn't spying on you," she had confessed truthfully, sitting down next to him. "I was just concerned. Are you okay?"

That was a good question actually.

Was Severin okay?

No he wasn't.

Everyone in the room right now was mad at him aside from Katari. Severin was even mad at himself for screwing up so much.

"Severin. Don't beat yourself up. We all make mistakes."

"I know but I am literally the main cause of everyone's problems, Katari," he sighed. "You don't understand. None of us are mad at you."

True but she was still going to help him regardless.

She was going to talk about what Layla Grace had said.... although if she had done that then Severin would have known she was eavesdropping and she didn't want that.

"For real though. Talk to Serayah. Why are you so reluctant to talk to her?"

He shrugged.

Until he felt bad for shrugging.

Then he had explained to Katari that the reason as to why he was so reluctant to talk to her was because of the fact that she didn't always handle criticism well.

Katari didn't say anything for a while until she realised that Severin was kind of a hypocrite.

"No offence Severin and I mean this in the nicest way possible but you're not any better," she had informed him candidly, with him almost frowning a little.

"You avoid confrontation sometimes too. You are literally doing that right now. And I'm sorry to say this but if you hate being corrected then maybe you shouldn't be in a relationship. Also, you have no right to be mad at DeVante either. He was doing you a favour. As far as I'm concerned you had plans of never telling Jordan Francis, Solana or Serayah too for that matter that you had dreams about Solana. That ain't the right thing to do. You get where I'm coming from?"

Severin wasn't happy with what he had just heard although he had nodded regardless.

That wasn't really why he was ticked off at DeVante though, making Katari a little bit surprised.

There was no point of him making a promise to Severin only for him to break the promise behind his back.

DeVante had never really done that before. That was why Severin was so upset with him.

After hell broke loose in the room (when they were all yelling at each other before they had stopped speaking to each other for good) Severin was really questioning their friendship.

"I see. Though you should still talk to Serayah in your own time. And did Jordan Francis really say that you can't speak to Solana again?"

"Heck at this point, the guy would probably kill me if I breathed near that girl," Severin over-exaggerated. "He's really vexed at me. I almost kissed Solana to be fair. And I don't really know how he he found that out but he found out."

Of course he was going to find out eventually.

Solana wasn't a stranger to Jordan Francis.

Plus there was a CCTV camera room somewhere which needed a key to be unlocked. Jordan Francis had probably checked that at some point.

What Katari didn't understand was why Solana was unhappy with Jordan Francis.

They were like perfect for each other. Katari had really looked up to them.

Solana had said to both Severin and Katari too that it was because they didn't argue enough, so was she indirectly saying that she wanted a toxic relationship?

Severin just smiled for some reason, and he had let Katari know the truth.

"To be fair you can have the best spouse and still be unhappy for some reason," he reminded her. "And no, that's not really why she's unhappy in the relationship. That was just the Chardonnay talking. She's had quite a lot lately. Kind of concerning if you ask me."

Solana was really unhappy in the relationship because her and Jordan Francis didn't spend enough time apart.

They had spent a lot of time together which was pretty detrimental to the relationship.

Assuming that they needed to separate from each other and they didn't have a choice, they would have found it hard because they hadn't spent enough time apart previously.

Inevitably they couldn't really have done that at the retreat considering how the main purpose of it was for couples to spend a lot of time together.

After the retreat though?

They should have spent time apart.

"So them not arguing enough has nothing to do with this?"

"Nope," Severin had answered, shaking his head vigorously. "Just the Chardonnay speaking, like I said."

Katari seriously needed to talk to DeVante about something, therefore wanting to know from Severin if he knew where he went.

He was in the third room to the left apparently, with Katari thanking him and hugging him before she had left to go and talk to him.

Severin had really appreciated Katari checking up on him, with Katari now promising him that if he needed anything then he should have let her know and he smiled.

In the meantime, she had knocked on DeVante's door, waiting for him to come.

He was really taking his time.

Minus Severin, it had seemed as though everybody she needed to talk to had always replied late.

DeVante was happy yet suspicious and confused at the same time as to why Katari was at his door when he had seen her.

"I really need to talk to you about something," she had whispered, with DeVante just looking at her as though she had told him that she wanted to marry him.

"About what?"

She wanted the couples in the room to talk to each other again, and she needed his help to do this as they were both single.

Basically it was more or less a matchmaking service for Severin, Serayah, Jordan Francis and Solana.

Katari didn't say any of that though, just saying instead that she would have explained everything when they had gone inside.

"Aight fine," he had deadpanned, letting her inside.

As soon as Katari had told him her plan though?

DeVante went through the roof.
