{Sonic's P.O.V.}
The knife was placed against my stomach, I could feel it making a small cut just by touching my skin.

I was a sobbing mess. My hands were shaking and I was panting heavily. My eyes were watery, making everything blurry.

For some reason I couldn't bring myself to push the knife deeper, I couldn't end my life. Not yet.

All the good times I had with my friends, with my family, with Shadow. I just couldn't do it.

"Sonic!"

I was suddenly pushed backwards, the knife was pulled away from my grasp, leaving a big cut on my stomach.

"I told you to put the knives away!"

"Sorry! I didn't think he'll-" I could barely hear them from the constant ringing on my head from the impact on the ground, but it was obvious that Tails and Rouge started fighting, but I cut them off with a growl.

"L-let me die!! I d-don't des-serve t-to l-live!" I sobbed violently and tried to grab the knife, but Rouge pinned me down while Tails put the knife in the sink since it was covered in blood.

"No. Hun, listen to me! Shadow is-" Before Rouge could finish, I passed out.

"We have to tell him, Rouge! He's suffering!"

"He told us to keep it a secret!"

"Sonic almost died!"

"So did he!"

"Rouge!"

"Tails!"

I slowly opened my eyes with a loud groan, flashing images of what happened replaying in my mind. Tails' and Rouge's voices were an echo in my head, but I didn't pay attention to them, why should I? They've been fighting constantly lately. I don't want to join them.

I just wanted to be with my lover, the only person that made me feel safe and loved, the only person that hadn't betrayed me yet.

He died protecting me.

While I'm supposed to be a hero.

I don't know about you, but for me, when someone is called a "hero", they must protect everyone, especially those they care about.

Life is tough. It brings many obstacles to your path, no matter how much you've done for others, or done to others.

I've been through many difficult situations in my life, made many mistakes yet I was still smiling.

But when the reason I keep smiling is gone, there's no hope for me.

I just want my Shadow back.
