I do, don't you?
Charles and Jocelyn had been spending every single day together. They couldn't stay away from each other.
Jo was sitting on the carpet. She was writing down in her songs notebook. All the days she had spent with Charles, she had been working on her song.
She looked up and saw Charles cooking. He was making pasta. Jo loved pasta and Charles loved making Jo happy.
Charles felt Jo's eyes on him and looked at her, she looked down and smiled.
"I caught you." Charles spoke smiling and Jo chuckled looking back at him.
"How's the pasta going?" She asked and looked back at her notebook.
"Great, I think..." He replied not so sure and Jo chuckled.
"That doesn't sound convincing." She raised her eyebrows and pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose.
Charles laughed and grabbed a bit of pasta with a spoon. He walked towards Jo and she looked up at him.
"Try it."
Jo grabbed the pasta and ate it. She scrunched her nose when the pasta crunched.
"I think it's a bit crunchy." She giggled and Charles laughed.
"I like it like that. Crunchy, it adds texture." He spoke and Jo laughed shaking her head. "How's the song going?" He asked walking back to the kitchen and Jo sighed.
"It's...going." She replied.
"That doesn't sound convincing." Charles joked and Jo glared at him with a smile. "I'm joking, I'm sure it's great." He chuckled.
He turned off the stove and walked towards Jo. He sat down next to her and took the notebook from her hands.
"Feels Like." He read the title out loud and Jo chuckled softly. "Sounds good already." He tilted his head slightly and Jo smiled at how cute he looked.
Charles started reading the lyrics and Jo leaned her head on his shoulder. She watched him nervously, not knowing if he'll like it.
"Is this about me?" He broke the silence smiling and Jo chuckled.
"Not everything is about you." She joked grabbing the notebook.
"They're really beautiful." Charles spoke genuinely, his heart still racing from the lyrics he had just read. "Do you have a melody?" He asked.
"Kinda." Jo stood up and walked towards Charles' piano.
Charles followed her with his eyes and stood up from the carpet. She sat down and placed her hands over the piano.
"Show me what you've learned." Charles spoke and Jo smiled softly.
"I would do whatever you wanted." She sang and clicked some tiles making a melody. "We don't have to leave the apartment."
Charles smiled walking towards her. He leaned on the side of the piano watching her with a smile as she sang.
"Met you at the right time."
He leaned his chin on his hands, looking at her fondly. She smiled softly, feeling Charles' eyes on her.
"This is what it feels like." She sang and looked at Charles. "How was it?" She asked and Charles was about to say but she cut him off. "Be honest." She pointed at him and he chuckled.
"I love the lyrics and the rhythm is really good. Does it bother you if I try playing it another way?" He asked and Jo smiled nodding.
Charles put his hands on the tiles and Jo looked at him attentively. He started playing and humming the song.
"Met you at the right time." Jo sang along. "This is what it feels like." She sang and Charles stopped playing. "Oh my God. That's it." She smiled excited.
"I'm a genius." Charles joked and Jo laughed.
"And so humble." She squinted smiling and Charles chuckled.
"You know me." He leaned in towards her. She smiled putting her hands on his face as their lips touched.
They moved their lips in synch and Charles gripped Jo's waist. Jo passed her hands through Charles' soft hair. The kiss got more passionate and Charles put both of his hands on Jo's face, deepening the kiss.
He slipped his tongue in her mouth and Jo smiled and put her hands on his chest. She slipped her hands through his torso and undid the first two buttons of his polo. He slipped his hands in her bloused and she took a sharp breath in, feeling his cold rings.
He slipped his hands up her back and unclipped her bra. She breathed heavily and bit Charles' under lip, pulling it slightly. Charles let out a soft moan and Jo silenced him, kissing him again.
Charles broke the kiss and took his shirt off. Jo traced her eyes through his muscular body. Charles went in to kiss her again, pulling her even closer to him.
Charles phone dinged but he ignored it, still kissing Jo. His phone dinged many times and he groaned frustrated.
"I think you should see who it is." Jo chuckled softly.
Charles smiled placing a kiss on the top of her head before walking towards his living room to answer his texts. Jo watched him type and titled her head slightly, her eyes wandering through his abs and muscular arms.
"Who is it?" She asked.
"No one, just work stuff." Charles replied throwing the phone at the couch.
"Oh." Jo whispered. "Do I leave?" She asked fixing her hair.
"No." He replied quickly. "Stay." He grabbed his shirt and put it back on. "We can watch a movie."
"Let's watch 13 going 30." Jo suggested and Charles nodded smiling at her excitement.
"13 going 30 it is." He spoke.
[...]
The movie was ending. They watched Jenna and Matt get married, get another chance to make their love right.
"What would you do if you could go back in time?" Jo asked looking up at Charles.
"What would I do?" He whispered, repeating the question to himself. "Spend more time with my dad and with Jules. I would cherish every moment." He replied and Jo smiled softly. "What would you do?" He asked.
Jo had thought about that question many times. What would she do different if she could alter the past?
"I would spend more time with my dad too. I would've made things right between us before he passed." She spoke and Charles placed a soft kiss on the top of her head.
"Do you want more pasta?" Charles asked and Jo shook her head.
"I need to head back home." She pursed her lips in a smile.
"Stay." Charles let out, not even doubting it for a second.
Jo raised her eyebrows and smiled softly.
"I would love to." She replied and Charles' smile widened.
"I'll get you more pasta." He gave her a short kiss before standing up to go to the kitchen.
[...]
Charles was brushing his teeth as Jo watched him, seated on her bed. She had caught herself many times staring at him. How couldn't she? In her eyes, she was the most perfect man ever.
Jo was falling harder than she wanted to. She disliked feeling so much, but she couldn't help it.
Charles walked towards the bed and laid down besides her. She was wearing a hoodie he had lended her.
"My hoodie looks good on you." He smiled playing with the laces.
"Yeah?" She whispered smiling and Charles nodded as she leaned in kissing him.
Charles smiled as he stared at Jo. A fond smile on his face.
"Jo." He whispered and she replied with a hum. "I think I like you a lot." He whispered and she chuckled softly.
"I think I like you a lot too." She whispered and Charles smiled.
"I want to know everything about you." He whispered.
Jo smiled making a thinking face.
"My full name is Jocelyn Anne Lexington, my favorite color is mint green, I used to do gymnastics when I was little, I know how to speak Latin..."
"You do?"
"Sic." She replied giggling and Charles laughed. "My favorite song is Ivy by Frank Ocean, I love Pride and Prejudice, I'm a huge hopeless romantic..."
"Romantic." Charles smiled and Jo chuckled.
"My biggest dream is to be a singer and I love those TY plushies, especially the one that was a grey cat with a pink bow, I used to have that one when I was little but lost it at an amusement park." She spoke and Charles watched her, listening to her attentively. "I remembered I cried so hard." She chuckled softly and Charles chuckled. "What about you?"
"Charles took a deep breath.
"I'm Charles." He started jokingly and Jo laughed. "I love playing piano, making pasta, I love going on boat rides, the stars, my favorite color is red..."
"Obviously." Jo chuckled.
"My dream was to be a Ferrari driver and here I am." He smiled.
"Dreams come true." Jo shrugged smiling.
Charles looked at her, his features softened and he nodded.
"They do." He whispered looking at the brunette in front of him.
[...]
The sun rays and a ringing phone woke Charles and Jo up. She felt an arm around her and smiled softly. She grabbed her phone from the nightstand as Charles rubbed his eyes.
"Who is it?" Charles asked in a raspy voice.
"Rose." Jo replied answering the phone, putting it on her ear.
"Where the hell are you? I've been knocking on your door for like 20 minutes." Rose spoke before Jo could say anything.
"Good morning to you too Rosie-Rose." Jo spoke in a sleepy voice.
"Oh my God. Are you at Charles'?" She asked realizing her friend had just woken up.
"I am." Jo chuckled.
"Tell him I said hi." She spoke.
Jo took the phone of her ear slightly.
"Rose says hi." She told Charles and he chuckled.
"Hi Rose." Charles leaned in the phone. "I'm gonna make breakfast." She gave Jo a short kiss before getting out of bed.
Jo put the phone back in her ear.
"Girl." Rose spoke and Jo chuckled. "He's making breakfast. Ugh, that's so cute."
"I'm gonna be back in my apartment in a bit."
"Don't worry. Enjoy your breakfast, I'll go see Nash." She spoke.
"Okay, love you."
"Love you too."
Jo hung up and got out of bed walking in the kitchen. He saw Charles making breakfast and sat on the counter.
"What did she say?" He asked.
"She was at my apartment." Jo replied and Charles chuckled.
"Poor her." He laughed. "Your friends sound really great. I would love to meet them."
"They're dying to meet you too." She spoke and Charles smiled.
"There's a party tonight with my other mates. You should bring them along." He suggested and Jo raised her eyebrows smiling.
"You mean your other F1 friends?" She asked and Charles chuckled nodding. "Rose is gonna go crazy." She added and Charles laughed.
[...]
"A party with F1 drivers?!" Rose exclaimed. "Oh my God, I need to find my Dior dress." She spoke and Jo chuckled.
"It's nice we're finally meeting Charles. We gotta see who little Jo is going out with." Nash joked tousling Jo's hair.
"Right. He needs our approval." Rose spoke and Nash nodded.
"You're gonna love him, he's amazing." Jo spoke smiling.
"You look really happy, Jo." Nash pursed his lips on a smile.
"I am." Jo chuckled softly.
The night came sooner than expected. Jo and Rose kept getting ready while Nash waited for them, he had been ready for about an hour and a half.
"Imagine you're a famous athlete." Rose told Nash as she walked in the room.
"Okay." He squinted. "Lebron James or Michael Phelps?" He joked pretending to swim.
"Nash, this is serious." Rose hit his arm and he laughed. "Imagine you're an F1 driver." She corrected her statement.
"Alright, got it." Nash clapped.
"Do I look good?" She asked spinning.
"You look really fit darling." Nash made a horrible British accent and Rose glared at him.
"What was that?" She threw her hands besides her hips looking at him with her eyebrows scrunched.
"I'm literally George Russell." He kept faking a British accent.
"My ears are bleeding, did Nash try speaking in a British accent again?" Jo joked walking in the room.
Nash looked at her. She was wearing a beautiful blue dress, her hair falling perfectly on her shoulders as golden jewelry adorned her.
"How do I look?" Jo asked.
"You look beautiful." Nash replied genuinely.
"Absolutely gorgeous." Rose spoke excited as she grabbed Jo's hands. "Look at you." She spun her around and she chuckled.
"Is Charles picking us up?" Nash asked. "'Cause I want to be the passenger princess." He joked and they laughed.
"No, he's sending a limousine." She replied.
"So fancy." Nash put his arms behind his head.
"You're literally a royalty descendant." Rose raised his eyebrows at him.
"I don't know what you're on about mate." He did a British accent again.
"Ew Nash, stop." Jo scrunched her nose and Nash chuckled.
[...]
Charles was drinking with Max and Carlos. He had had a few too many drinks before Jo arrived.
"So she's from here?" Carlos asked and Charles nodded.
"She is beautiful mate. She has these big brown eyes I just want to stare into all day. And she smells so so good." Charles' words were slurry.
"You're so drunk." Max laughed patting his shoulder. "And so whipped." He added.
"You wanna talk about being whipped? You've been texting Kelly all night." Charles fired back and Carlos laughed.
Nash, Jo, and Rose walked in and looked around the place. Jo spotted Charles and immediately walked towards him, her friends following her.
"Charles." She spoke and Charles looked at her with a smile.
"Hey you." He smiled and leaned in giving her a short kiss. "This is Jocelyn, my beautiful, beautiful..." He paused and Jo looked at him raising her eyebrows.
"Really nice to meet you Jo." Max tried cutting the tension and shook her hand politely.
Jo shook Carlos' hand too. Nash and Rose exchanged looks.
"You must be Nash and Rose. Really nice to finally meet you." Charles smiled at them.
"Really nice to meet you too." Rose smiled giving him a short hug.
Charles also hugged Nash. Nash pursed his lips and patted his back.
"So, what are you? You and Jo?" Nash asked and Charles looked at Jo.
"Nash." Jo whispered scolding him.
"Who wants shots?" Carlos asked.
"Oh, me!" Rose raised her hand.
"Love the enthusiasm." Carlos chuckled handing Rose a shot glass.
"Me too." Jo raised her hand.
Charles immediately turned around and handed her a glass, grabbing one for himself.
"Thank you." Jo smiled.
"Nash?" Charles looked at him.
"Sure." Nash shrugged and Charles handed him a shot glass. "Cheers mate." He raised his glass.
They took their shot and grimaced at the taste.
"That's horrible." Jo chuckled and everyone chuckled.
"Agreed." Nash made a face of disgust.
[...]
"Come on Nash, you can do it!" Jo clapped.
"We're counting on you Rose." Lando told her and she nodded.
"I'm beating his ass so bad." Rose spoke sure of herself.
"That's the spirit." Carlos gave her a high-five.
They were making a shot drinking competition. They had a huge row of shots on the table. They had made two teams.
"Get ready, set, go!" Max yelled acting as a host.
Everyone cheered and clapped as Rose and Nash started downing shots. Jo clapped cheering Nash on. Charles had his arm wrapped around her as he also cheered.
"Don't smell it!" Carlos yelled when he saw Rose made a face of disgust.
"Come on Nash!" Jo cheered him on.
He took the last shot and raised his hands in the air. Jo cheered loudly and Nash smiled looking at her. Jo got out of Charles' grip and hugged Nash. He chuckled throwing his head back.
Charles swallowed hard and crossed his arms in front of his chest. Jo walked back to him.
"Your turn champion." She spoke with a teasing tone making Charles smile.
He stuck his tongue to the side of his mouth, not being able to keep a serious face.
"Are you gonna cheer me on even if I throw up?" He joked and Jo laughed.
"You're always a winner in my heart." She joked giving him a short kiss and he smiled.
[...]
Carlos and Max were carrying Charles as he stumbled out of the club.
"It's still a win." Charles' words were even more slurry than before.
"It doesn't count if you throw them all up." Carlos chuckled.
"It does. He put in the work." Rose spoke and Charles nodded.
"Hell yeah I did." He spoke and they laughed.
"Jo, do you want to take him home?" Max asked and Jo nodded.
"Of course. If you can take Nash and Rose home." She replied.
"But we came here..." Nash started saying and Jo pinched his arm. "Ow!" He rubbed his arm.
Max and Jo gave each other a complicity look. Carlos understood it immediately too.
"I can take Rose." Carlos spoke.
"That leaves me with you." Nash spoke patting Max's shoulder. "Super Max." He added and Max laughed.
Max and Carlos helped Charles get in the limousine. Jo got in next to him.
"Nice trip lovebirds." Carlos joked closing the door and Jo laughed.
"Can we do donuts?" Jo heard Nash ask Max.
"Do I look like Toretto to you?"
"No, you look like Max Verstappen."
Jo laughed amused at the interaction.
"Where to?" The limousine driver asked.
"My house." Charles replied raising his arm in the air. "Please." He smiled drunkenly at the driver.
Jo chuckled and leaned her head on Charles' shoulder.
"I'm sorry for not calling you my girlfriend." Charles spoke.
"It's okay." Jo whispered.
"No it's not." Charles spoke. "I didn't call you my girlfriend not because I don't love you, it's because I want to ask you properly." He spoke and Jo looked at him.
"You love me?" She asked scrunching her eyebrows, her eyes glowing with the deem lights in the limousine.
"I do." Charles admitted and Jo smiled feeling her heart racing. "You have bewitched me body and soul." He whispered and Jo chuckled softly.
"Was that Pride and Prejudice?" She asked and Charles nodded smiling as he leaned in to kiss her.
Their lips moved in synch as Jo put her hand on Charles' face. She didn't just like him, she now realized how madly in love she was.
She had never felt this way about anyone.
