10| K-Kanji!?
I stared at Tsunade with dull eyes, my face holding not one emotion. She stared back at me with a dark glare, showing me all of the hatred she held towards me. Even without knowing me for a second, Tsunade knew that I wasn't an innocent girl, no... She knew my looks were very deceiving, for she was spot on there. My looks hid my devious personality.
"Hm... So your name's Kanji Hatake, is it?" Tsunade asked, curious to why I held such a infamous nickname.
It was a known fact that Kakashi lost his father, his family. He was the only Hatake left. It was rather...peculiar to see a young girl with his last name.
"Care to explain to me why your nickname is Hatake?" She asked, narrowing her eyes at me.
"I can't help you there, Tsunade. I don't even know why my last name is Hatake, from what I know, I didn't have a last name before..." I stated, looking back at Kakashi who had a neutral expression. "So, if you would be ever so kind, Lady Hokage. Would you let Kakashi explain the situation, after all...he is the one who decided upon this last name for me."
Tsunade sighed in annoyance and looked over at Kakashi with a dissatisfied look, "Kakashi, since this that has the same last name as you does not want to cooperate with me, would you mind explaining for me?" She seethed out.
Kakashi rocked back and forth on his heels, he scratched his masked cheek in what seemed to be embarrassment. From his body language, Kakashi really didn't feel like explaining the situation at hand. I knew it would come to this. Kakashi considered me an embarrassment. My fists tightened up.
"Well, if you need me to, then so be it." Kakashi said, clearing his throat. "Yes, I admit that I changed Kanji's last name to my own. Back before she was kidnapped by her brother and claimed dead, I had the urge to claim her as my own daughter. And I was going to, but as you can tell it didn't work out like I had wished it to."
My hands gripped the side of my clothing, I let out a small breath. Before I was kidnapped...Kakashi did care for me. He wasn't kidding around when he said those words. Someone actually cared for me...
He walked over to me and pet my head, "Kanji Hatake, hm? She's my daughter and she's finally back. Even if she may have been kidnapped on her own will, even if she was with others criminals; I'm happy she is alive. Happy that he is well and here with me." He stated, his mask crinkling as he smiled down at me.
I couldn't help but give him a tad bit of a smile back, he deserved it.
Kakashi looked away from me, now he was staring at Tsunade. "I understand no matter what words I share with you, you are still going to do something to her. After all, you are not to kind when it comes to letting in Rogue ninjas inside the village." Kakashi stated, causing me to roll my eyes.
Tsunade could throw anything at me, I really don't care. But if she does decide to do something, I hope she knows that I won't hold up against her. Just because she received a sappy little speech about me from Kakashi doesn't mean I'll stay back and be the quiet one. No, I will show her my true strength if needed.
Tsunade glared at me for a second before looking over at Kakashi and nodding her head at him, "Seeing as you know my current way of treating those who have betrayed their own village, I'll assume you also know the punishment I will be giving her, Kakashi..." She stated, walking over to her desk, scanning many of the papers piled up on her desk.
He nodded, glancing at me from the corner of his eye. "I understand." He stated simply.
Tsunade grabbed a handful of papers and walked over to me, her heels clicking loudly against the hard floor. She held out the papers, shaking them in my face.
"Grab them." She ordered.
I did as she said and took a hold of them, "And what are these for?" I asked, looking at the papers, my eyes widening at the words at the top in capital letters. "Community service?!"
I spun around and glared at Kakashi, "You never said anything about me having to receive a punishment, nonetheless that I had to do community service!" I shouted, shoving Kakashi.
He waved his hands in front of himself defensively, "Sorry, but if I had told you what you would be expecting from her, you wouldn't have came with me willingly! And we wouldn't want that now, would we?" He mused teasingly.
I scoffed, turning my head away from him. "You're a jerk, you know that right?" I stated bitterly.
He chuckled, "I may be a jerk, but I am still your father." He said, flicking my nose as he snatched the papers out of my hands.
He walked over to Tsunade's desk and signed the sheets for me, my eyes flew open. What in the name of Jashin is he doing?! Once he was finished, he handed the stack of paper to Tsunade's assistant.
"Shizune, here you go. After Tsunade sees it, you can now give her the punishment." He stated, his mask crinkling as he smiled at her.
My mouth fell open as I stared at him in awe. Did he really help Shizune-- Tsunade with my punishment?! Where is my say in this?! I ran in front on Shizune before she could give Tsunade those papers.
"Um, what do you think you're doing?" I asked, my eye twitching as she merely smiled at me.
"I'm giving the Hokage her papers. Now, if you would excuse me, please move aside." SHe said, moving to the side so she could walk past me.
I blocked her path with my arm, I wasn't letting her go that easily. "No, no, no...you don't get it." I chuckled bitterly, "I'm not letting you go that easily, especially with those papers you're holding at the moment."
She sighed, "Kakashi, please explain to her..." She muttered in annoyance.
He chuckled, "Hmm, why do I have to explain Shizune? I already did what you both wanted and signed the papers... Why don't you explain it for me." He offered in a tone that showed he wasn't going to be explaining anytime soon.
Shizune clicked her tongue and spun around, her back facing me for a second as she threw a dirty glare at Kakashi. "If that's how it is, then so be it." She mused, sighing rather loudly. She turned around and looked me in the eyes. "The reason the Hokage asked if Kakashi was your true guardian not too long ago was for this reason... We needed him to confirm that you were under his wings and were considered his daughter so he could decide for you. We knew it would be easier if you didn't have to sign it knowing that you would reject it either way. It went as we planned, didn't it?"
I stared at her with my mouth agape. I fell right into the stupid Hokage's hands! How in the hell did I fall for such a stupid trap like that?! I bit my tongue from saying any horrible words to the Hokage's assistant, I didn't need my punishment to get any worse before it was even given to me. As my fingers twitched in anticipation to hit her, I held in the urge and backed away, letting her pass me.
"Well then...go on..." I muttered out, cringing as I said so.
Shizune nodded and walked past me, immediately handing Tsunade the papers she needed to give me my new task. I grumbled under my breath and slouched a bit. Maybe coming to the Leaf Village wasn't such a good idea... I could have went to the Sand Village, hardly anyone knows who I am there.
Tsunade signed the papers and snapped her fingers, an ANBU appeared in front of her in a matter of seconds. I was shocked to see how fast they reacted when the Hokage needed something. I never actually had the chance to see things like this before, I was kidnapped from this village before I could even stay to watch the Chunin Exams... My, I was really looking forward to those Exams all those years ago... The battles were going to be so interesting. Tsunade spoke to the ANBU, most likely giving them orders to watch me like all the other Kage's did when someone they couldn't trust entered the village. This kind for thing wasn't very rare, it was pretty common seeing ANBU's watching people around in the village. Never having experienced this first hand should make this rather interesting for me. Maybe I can even put the ANBU's through a series of my little tests. I smirked internally, this will be fun.
Tsuande shooed the ANBU away, they left right away in a cloud of smoke. I glanced around the room and smiled as innocently as possible. "So, Tsunade... Am I getting away with no punishment?" I asked in a child-like voice. "Or am I going to regret saying those words?"
She sighed and rolled her eyes, "Shut up will you? Talking and acting innocent isn't going to help you here... I can read you like an open book." She stated bluntly, seeing my little act. My smile faltered, I replaced it was a dark grimace. "I see..." I muttered.
Tsunade cleared her throat, "Kanji Hatake, Rogue Ninja of the Hidden Leaf Village, by reading the crimes you've committed over the years, we have no choice but to have you under ANBU watch for one whole year until further notice. But seeing as you were taken out of the Village against your will, we will allow you to perform community service in order for your sentence to be lowered." She explained, placing the papers on her desk. "All I need is your confirmation."
I kept my lips in a straight line, "You're not going to let me go anytime soon, are you?" I asked, suddenly sensing the chakra's of several ANBU surrounding the Hokage Mansion. She was prepared if I had the thought of escaping. I laughed, "I applaud you for knowing what I wanted to do, Tsunade, You really can read me like an open book."
She nodded, "Your answer is?" She asked.
I smirked, "I accept my punishment." I answered.
"As of now, Kanji Hatake is to be under ANBU watch 24/7 for one year." She stated, opening her mouth to say more, only to be cut off by a sudden thump from behind us.
I turned around, my eyes widening at who decided to barge into the conversation. Naruto was on his knees, looking up at me with wide eyes. I sighed.
"Dear Jashin..." I muttered, knowing what was coming.
"K-Kanji?!"
