Where Dreams Are Made

John's POV
Thankfully, my father bought a house in Times Square. It was big and had an extra office which was nicknamed the 'classroom'. I spent most of my time in here studying and preparing for the tests my father gave me. I was so excited for college. I couldn't wait to see what was waiting for me at college.

Three days ago, I was enrolled at the best school in New York, Kings College. I had new clothes, shoes, supplies, everything a college student would need, I had it. The only thing I stressed about, was my roommate.

What if it's someone who is a whore, or a bitch? Every possible negative outcome lurked in my head.

What if he's a super hot guy? Goddammit John your gay is showing. I started to smile as I walked up to the desk at the administration office.

"John Laurens." I stated my name firmly before asking for my dorm key.

Room 1776 fourth floor, four flights of stairs to travel everyday, great. Oh, I'm so nervous. Just keep your cool John and everything will be okay.

As I flew up the last flight of stairs, I ran into Eliza Schuyler.

"Oh my god are you okay?!"

"I'm fine just a little bruised."

As we both stood up and brush ourselves off, I offered her my hand. She very quickly smacked it away.

"John Laurens. No need to be formal. We've been friends since high school."

"Elizabeth Schuyler, I can do whatever I please. How are you Liza?" I pulled her into a hug.

"I'm amazing now that we ran into each other. I think Laf and Herc go here too. Pegs and Angie are in our room. Come over some time. The number is 1781, it's on the second floor."

"I'll be there soon. I need to see my sister." Eliza laughed knowing that I was talking about Peggy.

"Well I must get going. Coffee later in the week?"

"Absolutely! Bye Liza!"

"Bye John!"

I continued to climb up the last flight of stairs but I finally arrived at my dorm. After a minute of struggling to unlock the door, I finally opened it.

The dorm was absolutely beautiful. It had been decorated nicely with beautiful wood furniture, and the walls a crisp white. In the corner however I noticed a very  disorganized desk covered with a thousand papers, and what look like a typewriter?

"Hello?" I softly called to see if anyone was present.

"Are you John Laurens?" A figured turned around from the chair of a desk.

"Yeah. And you are?"

"Alexander Hamilton. There's a million things I haven't done, but just you wait."

I finally got a full look at Alexander and fell in love with him immediately. He had beautiful silkly brown hair that was neatly pulled into a ponytail. His eyes were a deep but gorgeous brown. He's smile was so bright and beautiful. I felt like I finally had had a chance. My biggest fear however, is that he isn't sexually attracted or even romantically attracted to men.

"Pleasure to meet you Alexander." I held my hand out and he shook it. A bit of blush came over my face as our hands touched.

"Well, welcome to our dorm for the next three years. It's not a lot but, to me it's home. Just a heads up, I'm kinda work obsessed and I don't come out of my shell a lot. I'm a huge dork and I'm bi." He mumbled that last part like he was ashamed of it.

Did he just say he was bi? As in likes boys and girls bi? I couldn't believe what I just heard. I might actually have a chance.

(Time skip)

That night I fell asleep quickly. I was exhausted from moving in. When I woke up the next morning, I noticed Alex wasn't in bed.

He was sitting at his desk typing away on his computer. "If you don't use the typewriter, what's it purpose?" I asked.

He didn't even turn around to me but shrugged. "Aesthetic reasons?" My phone then buzzed.

Peggy: John, get your ass up. We're going out for coffee. The team is gonna be there.

I laughed. "Hey Alex? My friends and I are going out for coffee. Wanna come?"

"Coffee? Hell yeah." He threw on his jacket and together we walked down to the coffee shop.

I got to know a lot about Alex.

"Yeah. It's just my aunt, my brother James, and I. James and I moved here together. My aunt still lives in the Antilles, or, Nevis." Alex rambled. "My dad might still be alive but he left us so he was just an asshole."

"I know how it feels to not have a mom." I opened up. "My mom died from a disease when I was just 13. My poor dad has been raising 4 kids on his own." I laughed.

Alex flashed me a warm smile. "Maybe this year won't be so bad. You're a nice guy, John."

"Thanks, you too." I smiled back.
