Alex's POV
Here I am sitting in history class trying to focus while John is doodling turtles in his notebook next to me.

Laf and Herc had been gone for two days and it's weird without them. They told us they went to France because Laf's sister had an emergency but I miss them.

Everything was running smoothly until something happened.

"Lin Manuel Miranda and Daveed Diggs had a lot of debates between them. The reason? Well, they simply didn't agr-" Mr.Washington stopped mid sentence, hunched over, and held his chest. I jumped up from my seat.

"Mr.Washington are you okay?"

"Somebody call a goddamn ambulance." Mr.Washington was still holding his chest.

"Why?"

"Goddammit Alex! I'm having a heart attack." John immediately picked up his phone and dialed 9-1-1.

Within minutes an ambulance was at the college. Paramedics rushed into the room and laid Mr.Washington on a stretcher. They carried him out and dismissed class. I stayed behind with John.

As soon as the class was empty with the exception of me and John, I cried. I cried onto John for as long as I can remember. I can't lose Mr.Washington. It was then when a brilliant idea came to mind.

"John?"

"Yes babygirl?"

"I want to get adoption papers. Like now."

"Wait, you want Mr.Washington to adopt you?" I nodded my head frantically.

"Well, I figured this day would come so I hid papers in this cabinet. He walked to a nearby cabinet pulling out a stack of papers. "Now sign them and we'll go to the hospital. I already called Martha and she's there."

I grabbed my pen and signed everything I needed to. John and I left for the hospital and I clutched his hand the whole ride there. I can't let him die. I need him.

When we arrived, we found a stressed Martha sitting in the waiting room.

"Martha." John walked over and put his hand on her shoulder, sitting down in the seat beside her.

"He went into cardiac arrest. He'll live. I can't go in yet but he's okay."

"Martha I'm so sorry, I have something for him though. Would you like to see." Martha looked at me and I handed her the papers. She started tearing up.

"Are you being serious?" I nodded. She stood up and hugged me.

"He'll love it Alex." A nurse then approached us and said that he was okay and we could go see him.

We decided that we'd all go see him. I would give him the papers while Martha recorded it and John was my support. When we walked into his room, I was delighted to see him sitting up reading a book.

"George!" Martha ran to her husband. She hugged him and cried.

"Hi Martha."

"Are you okay?"

"Of course. Ah I see my two favorite boys are here." I nodded.

"Yes sir. I also have something for you." I handed him a small bag.

Before we came to his room, I stopped at the gift shop and got a bag and some tissue paper. When he opened it he cried.

"Adoption papers? You want me to adopt you?"

"Yes."

"Alex-" I cut him off.

"Please, call me son." He cried even more. I ran over to him and hugged him. I brought my mouth to his ear and whispered.

"I love you dad." John came over and hugged me and Washington. I had a family. Something I haven't experienced in a long time. Words cannot express how happy I am.

Mr. Washington has always been a fatherly figure for me but he's never been my real father. Now I would finally have one.

We spent more time with my dad laughing and having a good time. It was nice to see him in a good mood after what just happened. A nurse walked into the room and told us he could leave in about 2 days. Once she left, we said our goodbyes, well, me and John did. Martha was going to stay the night with him. John wrapped his arm around me as we were walking. I leaned in closer to his chest and stayed there.

"I love you Lexi."

"I love you too John." I noticed that I started falling asleep.

"Let's get you back home babygirl. You're getting really tired."

He picked me up bridal style and carried me the rest of the way home. Home. I'll never be able to hear that word without smiling.

Once John made it to our dorm and unlocked it, he carried me to his bedroom and laid me on the bed.

"Goodnight Lexi." He kissed my forehead and went to leave the
room.

"Stay?" I wanted his warmth so badly. I needed him right beside me.

"Of course." He pulled off his shirt and climbed in bed with me.

"Goodnight Lex."

"Goodnight my dear."

I closed my eyes and fell into the best sleep I've had in a while. The reason why? John. John makes me want to sleep. I want to wake up to him feeling refreshed and ready to go. I'll do anything for him. Hell, I give him the world someday. I'll blow you away, just watch. We'll blow you away.

So this was a short little fluffy chapter I wanted to post. I personally don't think it's a good chapter but, sometimes I'm wrong. So yeah, I hope you guys enjoyed it. I should have at least one other chapter published within this week. Also I want acknowledge a person for a second. MtotheKay. This girl, we haven't even know each other for a day and I swear she's like my new best friend. I love this girl to death already and will never get enough of her.
