Baby It's Cold Outside

John's POV
"Baby! Where's the suitcase!"

I practically was screaming from my closet as I attempted to pack a bag last minute. Alex let out a loud groan before I heard his footsteps make their way towards me.

"It's right there. I can't reach it." I smiled and easily grabbed the suitcase.

I neatly folded and packed all of our clothes while filling another bag up with hair products, toiletries, and skin care products.

Alex was in charge of packing a bag for his laptop, our phone and laptop chargers, his pen and paper, and such. We had procrastinated a lot not realizing how late we put off packing. It was currently two days before Christmas Eve and we were packing to leave for my house, today might I add. School had been let out for break yesterday and today Alex and I were traveling. It was only about twenty minutes away but it felt like an eternity.

"Lex we need to go!" I quickly scanned the dorm room, double checking a mental list in my head. Alex's little pitter-patters on the floor were fast.
Before I knew it, he was flying down the hallway.

"I'm ready!"

I nodded and we walked out to my car. Once everything was loaded in, I jumped in the driver's seat and started the car. I turned on the Christmas station on Sirius XM and sang along to the first song.

I really can't stay.(Baby it's cold outside)
I've got to go away(Baby it's cold outside)

I heard Alex join me in singing, he sang the first part and I responded.

This evening has been(Been hoping that you'd drop in)
So very nice(I'll hold your hands, they're just like ice.
My mother will start to worry(Beautiful what's your hurry.)

I looked over at Alex and saw him blushing. He was as red as a tomato. I grabbed his hand and softly caressed it. Using the button on my steering wheel, I turned down the music.

"I love you Alex." I pulled into a parking space in front of huge Brownstone. It was an odd Brownstone as it was singular.

"Love, what are we doing here?"

"I have something to show you."

I grabbed his hand and let him to the front door pulling out a key and unlocking it.

"This, is our future home. He blinked at me a couple of times.

"Alex, I want to have a future with you. I love you and I want us to last till our dying days. I want to watch our children grow up in this house and memories be made. I want to be with you, forever. Now I'm not asking you to move in right now, but will you one day?"

He lunged himself at me, engulfing me in a hug.

"Of course. John this house is amazing."

The house was fully furnished and decorated to my liking. Did I forget to mention that this house was mine? It was given to me by my father on my 16th birthday. He wanted me to have a place to raise a family. The house was a two story house with five bedrooms and 5 and a half bathrooms. There was also an office space.

"Come. Let me show you around."

I led him first to the living room where two sofas and a loveseat were placed in a semi circle way in front of a fireplace in which a flat screen TV sat on top of. A mahogany glass coffee table was in the center of the couches.

"Babe, this is gorgeous. I can't even, this is yours!"

"It's ours. Now I would love to show you more of the house, but my dad is waiting."

He nodded and we walked back out to the car in the freezing New York weather.

We finally pulled into the driveway of my house and Alex's mouth fell open just as it did the night of the ball. Snow decorated the once running fountain and lights were strung up everywhere. My dad always loved Christmas and decorating for it.

"Come on. You've already seen it. I want to show you my room!" He laced his hand with mine as we walked into the house.

As we walked into, Martha greeted us. Did I forget to mention that I had a sister? Martha was older than me by 15 years. I drop Alex's hand and raced towards her.

"Mar!"

"Jacky! It's so good to see you. Look at how much you've grown!"

She ruffled my hair and hugged me which I gladly accepted.

"Are you staying?"

"Jack, I'm sorry. I can't. I have kids now remember. I really miss you. The kids want to meet their uncle one day, maybe you could come over."

"That would be amazing!"

My smile grew wider by the minute until I noticed Alex standing off to the side.

"Oh! I forgot to tell you, this is Alexander Hamilton, my boyfriend."

"Oh look at you. You're so tiny. You look perfect for my John. Hurt him and I will not hesitate to slam you on a wall."

He nodded very fast and walked to me cowering in my shirt. I laughed but kissed my sister's cheek.

"I love you Mar. I'll be there soon. Don't you worry."

"I love you too Jacky."

She hugged me one last time before leaving. A few moments later, my dad came into the foyer.

"Ah, Alex, John. I'm so happy you guys could make it."

"Of course Mr.Laurens. It's wonderful being here."

"Please, call me Henry. Makes me feel less old."

I laughed at my dad's remark and hugged him.

"Did you see your sister?"

"Yes. It was nice to see her after all that time."

"Don't just stand there. This is your home after all! Go settle in!"
I smiled at my dad and we walked upstairs to my room.

Alex's POV
I walked into John's room and my mouth fell open. It was a simple yet elegant room.

A king sized bed sat against a wall in front of glass windows that stretched from the floor to the ceiling. Two small white bedside tables sat on each side of the bed. Blue and green lamps sat atop the tables. On one wall, there was a white desk pushed up against it with a laptop, a notebook, and various art supplies neatly scattered about. Above the desk were thousands of frames artworks and awards. On another wall, sat a bookshelf with books, trophies, and notebooks. There was a doorway to what I could assume would be a closet.

"Do you like it?"

"I can't believe you grew up here. It's amazing! Look at how talented you are!"

I admired the many music and art trophies and art ribbons.

"Thanks babe. Come sit with me."

He took a seat on the edge of his bed and I sat beside him. I leaned on his shoulder and relaxed. He ran his fingers through my hair as I groaned in relief at the feeling.

"I love you."

"I love you too Babygirl. Now every year my dad has a tradition where we put the tree up together. Would you like to help us?"

"Of course!" We jumped up and ran downstairs to the giant living room to find everything but the tree up.

"Ready to put up the tree John?"

"Yes dad."

Aye! Christmas chapters are coming! These are easier to write considering I have a lot of ideas for them. On another unrelated note, has anyone watched She's Gotta Have It on Netflix? Anthony Ramos is in it and boy is he adorable. He plays Mars Blackmon. Go watch it if you haven't! Until later, au revoir my beautiful turtles!🐢❤
