IYS 26
I wonder where are Ni-ki and Jungwon right now? Did they flee safely? I miss them already.
“Mr. Kim Sunoo!” someone called me and made the steel bars sounds through hardly tapping it.
I quickly stood up when I saw a familiar face outside this cell. “W-why are you here?” I asked him politely.
“I’m going to be your attending attorney,” Atty. Jeon stated. He’s Boss Jeon’s younger brother.
“H-huh?” I confusedly reacted. “Why? I meant you’re not a public defender. I don’t have the money to pay you,” I replied.
“Hey punk, listen to me,” he called. He really has the same attitude like his hyung. “Get out in there first and let’s talk. Hey! Get him out of here!” he shouted to one of the policeman and then he immediately opens my cell.
The two of us went inside an empty room where the two of us can talk with the table dividing us. I sit down and he also did the same.
“Hey, don’t think of anything why I am here and just listen to me carefully. HIVE already passed your case in the court justice,” he started that made my eyes widen and feel uneasy.
“They are really going to file me a case?” I asked him.
“Yeah, but we can’t still assure if they will really put you behind the bars forever. But I will assure you that it will never happen,” he stated seriously.
“Of course you’re saying that because you’re an attorney,” I hissed and lean on the chair feeling so hopeless.
“Hey fucker, I don’t need you to trust me because I have enough trust for myself already. If I’m telling you that you’re going to get out in here, I fucking mean it,” he countered and glared at me.
I rolled my eyes at him and throw my glare, “What the fuck is Boss Jeon’s planning? Why did he send me here? Why the hell did he send you here? Where the fuck is Jungwon and Ni-ki?” I asked him simultaneously.
He lean towards me and put both of his hands intertwine in the table. “I don’t know about his fucking plan in your life. He just told me to get out of you here or he’ll kill me with the law I studied for years,” he replied in his dead serious voice.
His answers made my eyes roll again and looked away. “So what will happen to me next?” I asked him not going deeper about Boss Jeon.
“They will transfer you to the city jail but your cell will be different to others since your case is still under process. You’ll not be moving to any cell after that because I’m going to let you free,” he answered me.
I looked at him, “Make sure I’m not going to attend to any of the hiring,” I stated.
His brows rise and I saw him smirk. He really looks like his older brother. “I got you, Kim Sunoo,” he assured me and then he grinned.
He then put some ordered foods on the table. I didn’t notice that he has this since earlier. “Eat a lot, days inside will not be easy as you think,” he said while putting the plastics away and prepare the food for me.
“Thank you,” I replied and quickly dig in since I’m really hungry already. I’m also exhausted and I wasted a lot of energy.
I’m fucking tired already.
“Hyung told me to order tteokbokki without any reasons so I just did what he wants,” he said while browsing on his cellphone, not looking at me.
That statement of him made me halted for a moment and made me feel that I’m about to cry. Why the heck does he care so much to me? I really hate him. He annoys me a lot like hell.
After a few minutes, I already finished eating and we decided to go back. Atty. Jeon bid his goodbye to me and told me that we’re going to meet again.
I don’t know but aside from being a bit nervous, I’m also confident that I will not really stay there for long.
I hate to say this but Boss Jeon is still at my back.
I know he planned all of these but why? For what reason? I can’t still understand him.
Also, Park Sunghoon, how is he? I know he isn’t well right now but I really want to see him. And if I see him, I don’t know what I’m going to do.
I really want to beg for his forgiveness but at the same time I want him to resent me and then forget me. Like nothing happened to us.
Like he never met his sasaeng. Like I never had been his sasaeng.
“Kim Sunoo! Get out in there now, we’re going to transfer you!” A policeman yelled at me and I silently obeyed after he unlocks the doors.
He then put me the handcuffs and escorted me outside. There are no media outside but I’m expecting them to be where I’m heading to.
When we get on the patrol car, I’m really silent and I’m thinking about Ni-ki and Jungwon. Then I heard the news that made me shiver in nervous.
(Kim Sunoo, a retired sasaeng of big artists such as Bae Gyurin, Lee Sean and Park Sunghoon got arrested and now to be transferred momentarily in the city jail as his case is still is due process. The police investigated the unit he’s staying but a lot of his things have been cleaned up already and the detective didn’t found anything that is related to his work…)
Did Jungwon cleaned up the whole unit? Or Boss Jeon did?
Jungwon doesn’t have the time anymore to assess all my things. They aren’t there anymore, I just hope they are really safe.
I realized that we already reached the place and as I expected, there are a lot of media in here. The moment I set my foot in the ground, I’m blinded by the flashes and the noises are making me feel so dizzy.
My head is facing down and they keep on pushing me. I just noticed that there aren’t just media personnel in here but also Sunghoon’s fans.
I’m really doomed.
Someone pushed me from the back that made me looked up and as I did that I saw someone looking at me in pity. She’s Lia, why is she in here?
When our eyes met she suddenly turned her back made me looked down again. She must be really angry to me but her face looks so sad.
I wanna run to her and asked her how’s Sunghoon hyung but I don’t think I deserve that.
We finally reached passed the people and went inside. A lot of checking happened and sort of then someone throws at me the uniform, “Wash yourself and wear this. Put all your things in this basket,” he instructed then someone pushed me to walk where the public bathroom is.
I’m really annoyed now. Can they at least make things clean in here?
I just hissed and made a quick shower. I think I’m going to die already. When I finally wear the brown complete uniform of a prison, I saw my number, 113020.
“Sucks,” I muttered and then rolled my eyes.
When I got out they escorted me again to where my cell is and before I could enter it I can hear someone singing inside. He’s sitting, facing the back so I can’t see his face.
I entered the cell and noticed there are only the two of us. They locked it and then walk back. I let out a deep sigh and this guy singing in whispers made my attention avert to him.
“Friends don’t understand me, understand me anymore. Friends don’t understand me anymore. Can’t you see me—“ he sings then suddenly stops when he felt me take a seat.
He slowly turned around and my eyes went bigger when I recognized his face. I saw the other side of his lips rose and then form a nice smile. “Hi,” he greeted and his smiles creeps me a lot.
I bowed a little, “H-hello,” I greeted him back.
I saw his eyes went down to my number and then speaks, “Kim Sunoo?” he called my name in question.
“How did you know me?” I asked him while my brows are knitted.
He chuckles in tiny, “I just know hahahaha!”
What the fuck? How did he know me that he’s also in here? Wait! Did the news already spread before he got in here? He’s creeping the hell out of me.
“You? Who are you?” I asked him.
“Choi Beomgyu,” he introduces. He was the one I saw behind my seat in the bus.
There are two of them, they’re the ones I heard like they’re planning to kill— wait!
I looked at him having uneasy feeling and he’s just staring at me and smiling. He looks like a psycho. I hate the fact that there’s only the two of us in here.
He’s making me feel nervous for some point.
“You were singing earlier, I don’t think I already heard it,” I stated while looking at him.
I don’t wanna ask him why is he in here. Who knows what he really did?
“Ahh that? Well, that’s a song that my friends and I made,” he replied still wearing his smile but now it looks sweeter and casual that earlier.
“What’s its title?” I asked him again.
He immediately replied, “In the Night the World Was on Fire, We Were.”
I frown because of what he said. “I asked for the title not a line from the song,” I commented.
He’s really weird. Who the heck will title their song with that length?
“HAHAHAHA!” he laughs hard that made me surprised. “Right! HAHAHA! Okay, Can’t You See Me? Is the real title,” he corrected then laughs again.
I just nod even if I can’t still understand him. He’s a psycho.
I lean in the wall and looked at the small window they made for this small room. When I’m going to get out in here?
I’m really tired already. I just want to rest.
I fucked up everything. My parents died, I got depressed, became abandon shit, stop attending school, became a damn stalker and sasaeng, broke someone’s trust, need for money and now I’m in jail.
I hope my life is a damn work of fiction. If this isn’t real, if this is just a dream, I really want to wake up already.
I’m so tired doing everything just to live for a day. I’m tired reaching my goals. I’m tired being alive already.
“I’m just so tired of everything,” I whispered then I felt a tear escaped from my eye.
“Why?” I heard Beomgyu asked.
I shrugged my shoulders and put the comforter in the floor. “I’m just tired so I’m going to take a sleep first,” I stated.
“Rest well, Sunoo,” he said in his calm tone.
A day had passed since I got in here. Beomgyu and I will be talking to some random things but not about why did we end up in here. We eat together and do some outdoors activity together.
“If we will find guilty, we’re going to die in here,” I heard Beomgyu while we’re in the open field where other inmates are doing their own things.
“I’m not going to die in here,” I stated and picked a pebble. “I’m going to get out in here,” I added and throw the pebble back in the ground.
“How are you so sure?” he asked me. “People in here is always saying that but still end up getting old in here,” he continued while looking at the sky.
“No,” I disagree. “I will make sure, I’m not going to last in here for a week. I need to get out in here because someone’s waiting for me outside,” I stated.
I didn’t hear him speak so I looked at him. His side profile is good but his face is really sad.
“That’s good to hear,” he reacted and then saw him smile. “You should get out in here because someone’s waiting for you,” he added.
“You have your friends too,” I commented.
I saw tears escaped from his eye and it run down to his cheek as he looks straight. “I’m not sure,” he paused and brushed his tears. “I’m not really sure if they’re still waiting for me.”
Choi Beomgyu and his friends, what happened to them?
All of us went inside for dinner and after that and get back to our own cells. Beomgyu decided to take a sleep already that made me feel wrong because he don’t sleep this early. He’ll keep on talking until the sun appears.
I’m now preparing my bed when I heard footsteps from the outside then my brows raised when two policemen stopped in front of our cell.
“Why?” I asked them politely and stood up.
“Someone wanted to see you,” one of them answered then open the door.
I thought they’re going to put handcuffs on me but they just let me walk with them. “Sir, it’s already night. Visitors aren’t allowed right?” I asked.
“He needs to see you this instant,” he replied in his casual tone.
“Who? Do I know him? Why is it at this hour?” I asked but they didn’t answer me anymore.
I’m still confused until they open the door of a private room where the prison and the attorney will meet. Atty. Jeon wants me to meet at this hour? I wonder why?
Before they closed the door I bowed at them and turn my back. “Atty. Jeon why—“ I wasn’t able to finish my question when I saw who’s in here.
My whole system stopped functioning. I don’t know what I’m going to do. I want to run away from him, get out in this room yet my body wants to run to him and hug him tight also.
“How are you Sunoo?” Sunghoon asked me in his calm tone and I can see him forcing himself to smile.
He’s wearing sweatpants, shoes and a hoodie. He’s also wearing his bucket hat and he' holding his face mask. It seems like he just sneak out. While I’m here, wearing this brown uniform with my prison number. Looking like a shit in front of him because of all what I did to him.
Sunghoon hyung, I miss you. Sunghoon hyung, I’m really sorry.
I have a lot to say to you hyung but it feels like I couldn’t move my lips. I don’t know where I’m going to start.
“Have a seat, please,” he invited me and he’s still smiling at me.
I started moving my feet towards him and take a seat. He also sits in the chair that’s in front me.
“How are you?” he asked me again.
I calm myself and made my mind at peace first before answering him. “Why are you here?” I asked him.
“I wanted to see you,” he replied still holding that smile.
That smile that’s hurting me right now. Stop acting hyung, please. I know you’re hurt please stop doing that.
“Really? For what reason?” I asked him trying to be tough and trying my best not to crack my voice.
“I just wanna ask you if why?” he paused and looked at me sincerely. “Why did you that?” he asked.
“Work,” I replied coldly.
“How could you do that? You know how much I love this career right? Why? Sunoo Why?” he asked and I saw some tears building in his eyes that are about to fall down.
“Work,” I repeated my answer.
“That’s it? Work?” he scoff. “How about my work then? How about my feelings then? How about me? You’ve been just thinking about work?” he asked and I saw those tears fell off.
“Yeah,” I replied.
“FUCK!” he cursed and stood up then kick his chair that made me closed my eyes. “Stop lying!” he yelled and lean towards me.
“I’m not lying. Why are you saying that I lied?” I countered coldly.
His lips move aggressively like he’s about to shout at me then he let out a deep breath and messed up his hair in frustrations.
“You like me,” he stated looking directly in my eyes.
“No, never,” I disagree.
“STOP LYING, FUCK!” he yelled at me.
“Did I ever confess at you? I did all of it for a scoop. I befriend you because of that, you clearly know my intention but still continued hanging out with me,” I stated.
He scoffs while he’s still crying. “Are you happy?” he asked that made me pierced my heart. “I couldn’t perform now. You promised me that you’re going to see me performing. You told me I deserve to be on the stage,” he paused to sob. “Now what? Why?”
I looked up trying to hold my tears. Then breathe in to contain myself because I’m about to burst also.
He walks towards me and he grabs my collar that made me stood up, “Why? Why the heck are you doing this to me!?” he shouted.
“I need money,” I replied then he pushed me. Gladly I am able to hold on the table to support myself.
“Money? Work? You don’t really care about me? You showed me motive, genuine smiles and comfort! And you’re telling me that’s because of money!?” he yelled again.
His face is really red and I can clearly see from his face that he’s really angry and hurt at the same, all because of me.
“Yeah,” I confirm. “I’m a good actor and you fell for it. Sunghoon, I don’t like you and I don’t regret any of these,” I stated.
“KIM SUNOO!” he shouted my name that made me closed my eyes.
Saw him messed again his hair and his tears are continuously falling down. I’m hurt seeing him like this. I’m hurt that I’m hurting him.
Hyung all of those are lies. Please don’t believe me. I’m sorry.
“I just want to sing a song for you in front of all the people. I just want to show you that you’re not wrong believing in me that I deserve to be loved by others,” he paused to sob and brushed his tears. “I want to show you the best of me because I love you,” he continued.
I looked down and saw my tears dropped on the floor. “I’m so happy that you gave me light. I’m so happy that you made me realize that I’m worthy to be praised by others,” he added.
I bit my lip and gasp for air. His sobs are stabbing my chest. It really hurts.
“You’re the only person who made me smile like that, you’re the only person that shines so bright that’s enough to light my world. You’re my sunshine, Sunoo,” he stated.
“I’m sorry,” I whispered.
“I don’t believe any of the shits you said. I don’t care about not performing anymore if you’re not going to be in there. I just want you, Sunoo. Let’s start again, please,” he begged.
I looked at him, “I’m sorry but after all of these, we can’t be friend anymore,” I replied.
“I'm still loser right?” he suddenly asked.
“What do you mean?” I asked him.
“I fell, I’m broken, and now I can’t even push the case further anymore. Sunoo, are you really going to leave me in the dark?” he asked me.
I walks towards him, “Sunghoon hyung, I’ll never be deserving of your love. I just used you for money, for myself. So please, leave me alone already. I’m sorry,” I apologized and knelt then bowed in front of him.
“I told you that loving someone in the wrong time will just lead to pain and hatred. I’m not the right person for you and you love me in the wrong time, I’m sorry,” I apologized in silent sobs with all the lies I just said.
My tears keep on falling and I couldn’t stop myself from sobbing anymore. This cold room is filled with broken and heavy atmosphere. I hate in here.
I don’t want to be in this kind of place if I’m with Sunghoon hyung.
“Kim Sunoo,” he called me that made me lift my head yet still kneeling.
My eyes widen when his lips touched mine. It’s warm and shaking. His eyes are closed while mine are wide open. Park Sunghoon is kissing me.
I slowly closed my eyes and felt a warm liquids running down from my cheeks. Everything is making me sad.
Hyung, I want you to know that you’re worth it. You deserve the world, the praises and the love. Your music heals people, your visual makes people fall in love and your personality makes people commit in that love.
I want to tell you that I’m really sorry for not choosing you over money. Maybe this isn’t really the right time for us. I don’t know if you’re the right person for me but I know we fell in love in the wrong time.
If the right time comes, I’m going to assure that you’re the right person for me. That’s when our love will work perfectly. That’s when our hearts will beat us one.
I promise you hyung, I’m going to be the right person for you in the right time.
I parted my lips from him and I stood up. “I need to go now,” I stated and turned my back from him.
“You will always be my sunshine, Sunoo,” I heard him said behind me.
“Park Sunghoon, we’re done,” I stated and walks away from him.
I already reached the doorknob and open the door when I heard him speak in his sad yet hoping voice.
“When I’m going to see you again, Kim Sunoo?”
