Chapter 54
Draco did as Harry said and sat down on the couch. Harry kneeled down and kissed him softly. Draco looked at him curiously.
"What do we have to do?" He whispered, grabbing his hands.
"It's a lot Draco, so I understand if you don't want to do it." Harry whispered back, giving his hands small squeezes.
"Tell me what it is, harry." Draco said quietly.
"The law, as Umbridge described it, affected couples that were married in England and their kids. So I was thinking, what if we just move to America before the law affected us? But then we wouldn't had our friends, we couldn't really be wizards, we wouldn't be able to continue our education, we'd have to hide all the time, and we wouldn't be able to have Scorpius have a good childhood," Harry started.
"So what are you saying?" Draco asked.
"Well, I thought, the law affected people that were dating and couples that were married in England. So, here's where it gets to be a lot,"
Harry took a deep breath. "If we go to another country, get married and have our certificates, then come back before the law is posted by tomorrow night, it won't affect us. No one would be able to put us in jail or kill our baby, at least not without getting thrown into azkaban,"
Draco's eyes widened. "So we have to get married?"
"Yes, and I know we're only eighteen, and you probably think it's just for the law, but I would really like to marry you," Harry intertwine their fingers. "I was planning on asking you later on, but now seems like the time to do it if we can still be together,"
Harry got a small box out of his pocket and opened it up to reveal a small ring, the only one Harry could get to make the rushed idea special. "So, Draco Malfoy, will you marry me?"
Draco looked at him teary eyed, nodding softly. "Yes, Harry, I will,"
