10|"I Need A Drink."

Lydia sprints down the stairs of the building, hoping to catch Stiles. She breaths hard as she practically flies down the grey steps. Her soft hand slides violently done the railing. It's become apparent that Stiles is not in the stairwell or the lobby, so Lydia pushes on. She runs out into the side walk and spots him just getting into a cab. "Stiles!" She screams, never stopping her intense sprint through the humid air of the dark day. Small droplets of rain begin to sprinkle down on her. They hit Lydia's face like tiny, cold needles. Thunder booms above the city, over all the noise of the talking people and roaring motors. Stiles looks up and steps out of the cab just in time for Lydia to jump into his arms, tears pouring down her face. His arms wrap automatically around her as they have done so many times before.

"Firecracker, hey what's wrong?" Stiles asks lovingly, his gold eyes examining her tear stained face. Lydia just pulls him closer, sticking her face into the crook of his neck. His scent is familiar, like the scent of the bedsheets of her home. Comforting.

"She is going to hate me," Lydia states disdainfully. The rain begins to fall more now, making everything very loud, people rush to make it indoors before the storm hits. Stiles raises his eyebrows as he looks down at his firecracker that can not seem to face him directly.

Stiles looks back at the cab driver and whispers, "five minutes." The driver nods. The boy turn his attention back to Lydia as the storm begins to strengthen. "Who's going to hate you?"

"Allison! I told her that it sucks growing up without a dad." Stiles knows how much Lydia hated her father for leaving. Lydia had poured her heart out to him about it once. "And then I went on about how I don't understand why she can't just tell Scott! And how because of her the guy I'm in love with is leaving and she should just tell Scott and she is going to hate me!" Lydia exclaims. Stiles freezes.

"The guy you're in love with?" Stiles questions. Lydia realizes that she has slipped up. She had just realized sometime last night that she thinks she has feelings for Stiles. But all he ever wanted from her was casual sex. "Lydia, you love me?" Stiles asks for confirmation. Lydia does not know what to say.

"Of course I do, just as I love Scott, Allison, Malia, and Kira," Lydia covers up her previous statement. Stiles shakes his head and the rain begins to pour harshly down on he and Lydia.

"You love them... but you're in love with me," Stiles says in disbelief, his eyes wide. Only now does Lydia look up at him and see his big gold eyes staring down at her confused. She takes a deep breath before speaking.

"Stiles, I know that-"

"Lydia, I have to go, I'm sorry," Stiles interrupts her quickly. He releases his tight grasp on her waist and jumps into the cab without another word. Slamming the door shut, Stiles orders the driver to go, and Lydia is left on the side walk, soaking wet in her own salty tears and the cold rain. She watches the cab speed away into the congested roads and wraps herself in her own arms. No where to go, besides her empty apartment where there is an empty bed that she shared with him on the nights he would stay till morning. And the couch where she and her best friend would normally share a bowl of popcorn while watching some of their favorite movies. Just hollow memories would keep her company tonight.

Meanwhile, Allison is barely holding herself together as well as she holds her belly. Her legs are crossed under her as she sits on the couch, tears pouring down her cheeks. Without thinking, her shaking hand reaches for her phone and she clicks on that special contact hesitantly. The phone rings exactly four times before he answers. "Allison." His voice is soft, nervous, but caring. Its the same voice that got her through the stress of high school, the voice that put her to sleep on the restless night. Its the same voice that could make her day completely okay even if it was the most dismal day in existence. That voice is the one that comforted her every single day wether he knew he was doing it or not. And Scott's voice still has that effect on her. In a second her breathing slows and she stops shaking. There tears do not cease to fall, but she feels more relaxed.

"Scott, hi," Allison says to him. Scott does not reply for a second, as if he is trying to decipher why she is calling him now.

"Hi, wow hi, how are you," Scott asks, intrigued. Allison almost laughs at his tone of surprise.

"I've been better, I'm excited to see you next week at the wedding," Allison says bravely. Scott laughs on the other end.

"I am excited to see you, god Allison I miss you," Scott admits. Allison smiles to herself.

"Ya ya... I'll see you then I guess." On the other end of the line Allison hears a door slam.

"Stiles what's wrong, I'm on the phone," Scott says on the other end. Allison listens intently.

"Lydia is in love with me Scott, but she deserves more-"

"Stiles gimme one minute. Allison you still there?" Scott asks over the phone.

"Yes," she answers quietly.

"I have to go, I will see you later, bye."

"Goodbye," Allison replies, hanging up the phone so Scott and Stiles can talk.

"Stiles, I can talk now," Scott tells his best friend, standing up from the couch and approaching his friend. Stiles looks around in a panic.

"Scott, she is in love with me, but she deserves so much better than me," Stiles exclaims. Scott grabs Stiles' arm gently.

"Stiles, you've loved Lydia all of your life, you should be happy," Scott tells him. Stiles shakes his head.

"I am nothing Scott! And Lydia Martin is everything, she is a fucking goddess who deserves the world, not some broke guy with extreme anxiety! Scott I fucking love her, but she doesn't need me in her life like that!" Stiles yells. Scott tries to calm his best friend.

"Stiles, you two have been having sex since junior year of high school, clearly you love each other, this is no big deal," Scott attempts to make Stiles realize what everyone around Lydia and Stiles already know. Stiles takes a deep breath and rubs his forehead.

"I'm sorry, who were you on the phone with?" Stiles asks, changing the subject. Scott smirks and blood rushes to his face.

"Allison," Scott tells his buddy. Stiles smiles.

"She tell you anything?" Stiles asks, hoping that she finally told Scott that she is pregnant with his child. If she told Scott than that means he can see Allison and Lydia more.

"She misses me and can't wait to see me at the wedding," Scott tell his friend with a giant smile. Stiles sighs and rubs his forehead. "Wow sorry, did that disappoint you?" Scott jokes.

Stiles shakes his head and puts his hands up in defense. "No no, thats great," Stiles reassures his friend.

"You think we will get back together?" Scott asks hopefully.

"For fuck's sake, I need a drink."
