Chapter 18: Sometime Alone

"Seriously, would you ever stop following me? I'm fine!" Lucy rolled her eyes in annoyance while Natsu was beside her, hands in his pockets. "My mom told me to follow my dreams...and that's what I'm doing." He said blankly. In the corner of Lucy's mouth started to move up, she laughed, "When did you become so cliché?"

"Since I've met you."

Warning: Fluffy scenes. No lemon. I stg there is no lemon in the chapter. It's just I'm not really good at writing romantic scenes.

Lucy stared at him like he was from another world. She giggled, "Alright, now what happened to the old Natsu I know, Mhmm?" She teased while putting her hands on her hips, smirking. Natsu stood there on the side walk, raising an eyebrow at her, "Woman, I'm only 18 years old. Who are you calling old?" He crossed his arms looking offended. A smile tugged on her lips as she walked over to him, pinching his cheeks, "You're cute when you're frustrated." She cooed.

Natsu rolled his eyes in annoyance and bents down, wrapping  his arms around her thighs, picking her up and putting her on his shoulders. Lucy screamed, "Natsu! Put me down, people are looking!" Hitting his back, continuously. Natsu only felt like pebbles annoyingly hitting him, he smirked, "It's okay..." he muttered and started walking with Lucy on his shoulder. Eyes were on them as they heard whispers surrounding them. An old couple were whispering to each other, "Look, they're so cute! Honestly Richard, why can't you do that to me when we were younger?" The old woman complained and started shaking his husbands arm. "What? You want me to carry you right now and break my back? Seriously Emily, proposing to you is more memorable than me carrying you..." Richard rolled his eyes and kissed her on the forehead.

Natsu smiled at the old couple and kept walking. Lucy, on the other hand was still dangling on his shoulder, annoyed by his weird actions. She sighed, "Would you please put me down now? What did I do wrong?" she grumbled, hitting him again. "You called me cute." he replied with a chuckle, setting Lucy down.

Lucy folded her arms together and pouted, "Now you're being cute," Natsu said and patted her head. She tsked and turned her back away from him, "Shut up."

"See? That's how I feel when someone calls me cute."

"You should smile more often. It fits you..."

"...Sure..." Natsu muttered,

"C'mon, I like the relaxed Natsu." Lucy whined. They both went back to Lucy's house, doing homework in the dining room. Apparently, Natsu is being a douche and came back to his regular stone, cold self. "I'm fine." he said, sitting up straight in his chair with a stoned face. She sighed and grabbed her books, "Where are you going?" He asked with his eyebrows furrowed in confusion. Lucy held her books in her arms, "Tch, if you're acting this way. I might just as well work by myself." She muttered and went upstairs.

Natsu was slouching with his head on his palm with his elbow supporting it. He sighed in frustration, rubbing his face with his hands, "This woman is so frustrating. Is she on her period or something?" he muttered under her breath and got up from her seat and went upstairs to Lucy's room.

Lucy was working on her work that was on her desk with her light shining. She started muttering words, "What is this?" she asked herself, scratching her head at the same time, Lucy heard the door creaked opened but ignored it, focusing on the book she was studying on. Hands appeared on her waist making her jolt and scream, "Oh my gosh. Don't do that!" she yelled at him, slapping her hand on his chest playfully. Natsu chuckled, "It's funny" He confessed. Lucy sighed and went back to reading, "Now who's being boring, now?" Natsu complained.

"Oh shush. I'm not serious like you all the time, at least." She fought back.

"Calm down, woman. Are you on your ladies days?"

Lucy stopped and looked over her shoulder, glaring at him. "In the matter of fact, yes, I'm on it. Now would you leave me alone now? I want to be in peace." She said. Natsu raised and eyebrow at her. "Well, what your doing right now is not peace." He said while grabbed her tiny waist, lifting her up.

"H-Hey! What the hell are you doing? Not this again!"

She felt a soft cushion on her back as Natsu was hovering over her. "Let me go, I have to study. My next exam is coming soon." She complained, trying to push him off of her. "No." he said and gently putting his head on her chest, listening to her heartbeat quicken. "Something wrong? You're heart is beating fast." For you. Lucy thought as she blushed, "I-If you're going to be annoying, would you please get off of me?"

"No." Lucy groaned and let her head fell back on the pillow. She waited until second became into minutes.

Silence was heard across the room. Only their breaths was heard as their heart was quietly pounding against their chests. Slowly, Lucy brought her hands on his hair, combing it gently. Natsu sighed in relaxation, letting his mate do what she wants. Natsu's head lifted up suddenly, staring at her brown orbs that was sparkling from the night sky. He smiled, dipping down, meeting his lips onto hers. Lucy's breath hitched in surprise but replied back to his kisses, "I missed this," She heard Natsu say between breaths, "I missed you.."

"Natsu..." she whispered, kissing him passionately.

"I love you..."

"I love you, too..."

"Promise me. Promise me you'll come back for me."

"I will."

Lips was caressingly skimmed down Lucy's jaw, to her neck. Playfully, sucking on where Natsu marked her, she hummed slightly still tugging his pink locks. (A/N: Ugh...I'm cringing so hard rn)

"Puurrrrr~"

Both of them froze in their place, not knowing who purred. "N-Natsu...did you just purr?" She asked him. "No, why the hell would I purr?" He replied.

"Puuurrrrrrrr~!"

They both turned their heads, looking at a blue kitten sleeping soundly on one of Lucy's pillow. Lucy giggled while sitting up with her elbows supporting her, picking up the small kitten and gently placing it on her chest. She started caressing Happy as he purred. Natsu on the other hand was still hovering over her and Happy while he grumbled, "You're lucky Lucy likes you. I would've kicked you out of the room..." he muttered.

"Stop being mean! He's just a little kitten just wanting attention."

"And this guy is wanting attention, too." He said as he pointed at himself. Lucy smirked and went up, giving Natsu a peck on the lips. "I already did. Now I'm giving Happy attention." She petted him. Natsu sighed and slowly placed his head on her stomach while she was still petting Happy.

"Moonbeams and starlight.

Lucy sang quietly while both of them sleeping soundly, her eyelids started to close making her lull into slumber.

A light of sun came coming down her window and into Lucy's eyelids. She closed her eyes tightly, trying to open them. What time is it? She thought while trying to sit up straight. Arms were trapped around her body not able for her to move. Suddenly, a warm sensation came up and down her shoulder to her neck. Shivers went up her spine, "U-Uhm..." she stuttered nervously. "Shhh..." he heard her whisper in her ear, playfully. He started giving her butterfly kisses.

"Get off, Natsu!"

"No."

Not this again... she thought and groaned.
