"Kaneki, wake up," a soft, soothing voice told me, and a hand fluttered by my forehead while the person spoke, moving some of my white strands out of my eyes. "Are you alright?"

I sighed softly and obeyed the voice, opening my eyes. I blinked a few times lazily before Hide's face became clear to my half-lidded eyes.

"Hide..?" I mumbled.

"Hey. You fainted after barging in here. Are you alright, Kaneki?"

I fainted.. barged in...

My eyes widened as my memory returned. I shrieked, sitting up and quickly backing away.

Hide's hand was placed in the middle of the air, "... Are you.. scared of me?"

"!" I tried to calm my breathing. I shook my head frantically.

"..." the hand moved back to rub at his neck, and I found the sight oddly enticing, "It's fine if you are, you know." I gulped. "I mean.. It's probably.. kind of awkward to know.. that your best friend - childhood friend - has been.. homosexual for you all this time.."

'Come on, eat him. That would end this little farce. And then you'd have Hide for all eternity. He wouldn't be able to go anywhere. He wouldn't go to the CCG. He wouldn't willingly end his life or worse - be kept in a little cell. And he probably tastes so very good, Kaneki-kun, fufufu,' she chuckled.

"Just tell me the truth, okay, Kaneki?" Hide's eyes turned back to me, and I wanted nothing but to pry them out of his sockets and chew and chew anD CHEW.

"? Kaneki? Are you hungry, buddy?" Hide crawled onto the bed next to me. This not helping.

I panted heavily. I was now on Hide. We'd fallen to the floor. I was about to eat him.

"?" a sting went through my arm, and my vision started to fade. Hide was staring at me with thiS PITIFUL LOOK.

"Kaneki.. go to sleep, alright..?" he murmured softly, and I fell, unconsciousness succeeding in taking its hold of me.

I don't know what happened next, and I barely remember anything after I started freaking out.. Whatever happened though, I awoke later on Hide's bed, and he was nowhere to be found.
