Third Person POV

Eleanor and Theodosia had the entire Jefferson estate to themselves. Well besides all the extra people in the house. Thomas and Burr had work to do and Mary was doing an all day treatment. No matter how much Ella begged Sally to let her come she said no.

"Hey Theo" Ella muttered into the pillow she was hugging to her chest.

"Yes?"

"Have you ever been in love with two guys at once?"

The question took Theodosia by surprise. She sat up and looked at Ella who was avoiding eye contact with her. "No.... because I've never been in love with a guy"

Ella threw the pillow at her. "You know what I mean!"

Theo laughed. "Seriously no"

"Oh"

"Why?"

Ella started playing with her hands. "N-No reason"

"Please Ella" Theo moved to in front of Ella and pouted. "Pweaseeeee"

Ella laughed and shoved her out of her face. "Nope"

Ella's phone vibrated. It was closer to Theo so she picked it up. "Who's it from?" Ella asked.

Theo's face lit up. She smirked. "Ooohhh"

"Who's it from?" Ella reached for her phone but Ella pulled it away.

"It's from Philip~" Theo teased.

Ella snatched her phone from Theodosia's hand.

Hamilbitch: Angie's phone died but she wanted me to tell you to give her any updates you get on Mary

Ella smiled. She loved how much Angelica cared for Mary.

Jeffershit💜: Tell her I will. Have you told her or your mom yet?

Hamilbitch: no

Jeffershit💜: seriously. You haven't told Angie

Hamilbitch: nooe

Hamilbitch: nope^

Jeffershit💜: oml. Ur so irritating

Hamilbitch: ik

Jeffershit💜: Philip I love you let me kiss you pleaseeee

Philip looked at his phone confused as he blushed. Angelica noticed. "Ooohhh what'd Ella say to make you blushhh"

Jeffershit💜: sry Theo stole my phone

Philip laughed.

Hamilbitch: haha u good. Hi theo

"Theo what the hell!" Ella screamed.

"What it's true"

"No it's not!"

Hamilbitch: don't worry Ella I love you too I'll kiss you

Jeffershit💜: Philip wtf

Hamilbitch: Angie stole my phone

Hamilbitch: Hiiiii Ella

Jeffershit💜: Hiiiii Angie

"Why does her name have a heart?" Angelica asked Philip.

"I don't know" Philip shrugged.

"Sure..."

Jeffershit💜: did you need anything else?

Hamilbitch: yes

Jeffershit💜: whay

Jeffershit💜: what***

Hamilbitch: I want my sweatshirt back

Ella practically threw her phone. She looked over to a chair across her room with Philip's sweatshirt sitting on it. Theo caught a glimpse of the text and gasped. "You have his sweatshirt?!"

Hamilbitch: hello?

Jeffershit💜: come get it bitch

Jeffershit💜: and buy me another cause I can't find my sweatshirt. Not since u touched it

Hamilbitch: u asshole

Hamilbitch: ur dad better not be hime

Hamilbitch: home^

Theodosia stared at Ella. "What?! Since when do you have his sweatshirt?!"

"Since the trip!" Ella yelled. "I was cold and I couldn't find mine so he handed me his! We were both half asleep anyway"

"And you still wore it" Theo pointed out.

Ella tried to keep her face from turning red but she could fell her cheeks burning.

"Ella! Am I supposed to let Philip in?" Charlotte asked from downstairs.

"Yes!" Theodosia yelled, answering for Ella.

Charlotte let Philip in and he made his way up to Ella's room. Don't ask him how he knew where it was. He had only been up there twice but he had memorized where it was.

Philip leaned on the doorframe of Ella's room. Both girls looked at him. He crossed his arms and smirked at Ella. Ella fought every urge in her body to blush. Instead, she threw a shoe that was sitting on her floor at him.

Philip (barely) dodged the shoe and stood up, looking panicked. "What the hell?!"

Ella was about the throw the other one, then she decided not to. "Hey where's Angie?"

"I told her to stay home" Philip answered.

"Ugh now I only have to deal with you" Ella said. Theo nudged her in the side.

Philip rolled his eyes. He looked at Theodosia and gave her a friendly smile. "Hi Theo"

Theo laughed. "Hey Philip"

Ella got up and grabbed Philip sweatshirt. She walked over to him and shoved it into his chest. "Here loser"

Philip got closer to her, by habit. "Thanks"

Ella went to go sit back down on her bed but Philip stopped her. "Are we going?"

Ella turned around to face him. "Going where?"

"To get you a new sweatshirt" Philip shrugged.

Ella hesitated. She was joking but she did love sweatshirts and the one she lost was one of her favorites. However, Ella felt bad using some else's money to do things when her dad had so much of it.

Philip noticed Ella's uncertainty. He got closer and put his hands on her shoulders. He made his voice lower and quieter. "Look, it's a little thing but it's like a repay for saving my life, I know I'll still owe you more but this is a start."

Ella made eye contact with him. Philip noticed that eyes looked dull and tired, but there was something else that he couldn't quite pin there.

"Hold up, since when did Ella save your life"

Ella and Philip jumped slightly, getting startled. They turned and saw Theo sitting on Ella's bed, watching them like a TV show.

Ella did not want to have this conversation right now, so she grabbed Philip's hand and ran out of the room. "Got to go, bye Theo!"

Philip blushed at the sudden contact. Soon they were standing outside, with their hands still interlocked. Ella noticed and yanked her hand away.

They sat on the bus, not talking. After a while Philip finally said, "Hey Ella?" Ella muttered a 'hm'. Philip looked at Ella, a little worried about her reaction to the question he was about to ask. "Can we talk about... the kiss?"

Ella looked ahead of her, with no emotion whatsoever. "It didn't happen"

Philip looked at her slightly surprised. Ella wasn't one to just run away from a problem. "...what?"

"We don't need to talk about it because... there's not reason to. In my mind, it didn't happen" Ella said with no emotion again

Philip couldn't help but feel a pain in his chest. Like his heart was being ripped out. He nodded slowly and turned to the window. "Fuck" he thought, "that wasn't supposed to hurt like that"
