PHILIP POV

We continue working in silence. We were both avoiding talking at all costs.

"Hamilton?" I heard Ella say while we work.

"Yeah?"

"Do you have extra paper? I ran out" I groaned and grabbed a stack of paper to hand to her.

"Thanks"

"How much research have you done that you need more paper?" I walked over to the table she was sitting at.

"Well a good bit..."

I looked down at the stacks of paper all completely filled with notes and information.

"Holy shit" I mutter. "YOU WRITE AS MUCH AS MY DAD!" I screamed throwing my hands in the air.

She just shrugged and went back to writing.

"Kids what's the yelling about?" Mr. Jefferson walked in and said.

"Did you know your child writes like my dad?!" I tried not to scream but it sounded like I did.

"You're just jealous!" Ella yelled from where she was sitting.

"Well dang..." Tomas said.

"HOW DO YOU WRITE SO MUCH?!" I screamed again.

This time Mr. Washington and my dad come in.

"What's going on in here?" Pa asked.

"Ella! She writes like you!" I yelled pointing at Ella then my dad.

"That's impressive" George said.

"Wow" my dad quietly stated.

Ella just shrugged again and went back to work, ignoring all of us. George, Thomas, and Pa left so I went back to work.

For some reason I couldn't focus. Like my mind kept changing the subject... to Ella fucking Jefferson.

I hate her, she's a Jefferson, I hate her attitude, and she hates me. But why can't I stop thinking about her. There's something about her.

"Yo, are you going to keep staring at me or what?" Ella said quickly pulling me out of my thoughts. I didn't even realize I was staring at her. I looked away and tried to got back to work. "What's up with you today?" Ella asked.

"What do you mean?" I replied confused.

"I don't know... You're just not acting like yourself I guess."

"Oh" I sighed and she snickered before going back to work.

"Ellie, we're heading home now." Tomas said walking into the room. Ella started packing up. "Philip, Washington told me to tell you that your father will be a while."

I sighed. "Of course"

Ella looked at me then looked at her dad and back at me. "Philip, do you want a ride home?" She said putting me in complete shock.

"What?" Me and Mr. Jefferson said at the same time.

"I don't really think it's that complicated" Ella said putting her hands on her hips.

"Um, yeah... thanks" I said packing up.

"Don't mention it dork." She smiled a bit which surprised me. "Just remember you owe me"

I laughed a bit. "Alright nerd."

While we were in the car my mind raced. Why was she being so nice? Why did her little laugh sound so cute? Why-

"Philip, we're here" Ella said pulling me out of my thoughts.

"Thanks again for the ride" I said hoping out.

ELLA POV

I went to get out of the car and I saw Philip's phone sitting on the seat. I quickly got out of the car.

"I'll back in a little bit dad!" I yelled running towards the Hamilton house. "PHILIP!"

He turned around and looked at me. "What?"

I panted and held up his phone. "You left this"

"Thanks"

Eliza opened the door right then. If I'm being honest I really respect Eliza and from what Mary says Angelica is not like her dad or her brother.

"Philly, who's this?" Eliza said with a warm smile. I snickered because I'm the only person besides Eliza who uses 'Philly' and I'm not allowed to.

"I'm Eleanor Jefferson, I was just giving Philip his phone" I smiled.

"Ah, the infamous Eleanor Jefferson we keep hearing about." Eliza laughed looking at Philip.

I glanced at Philip and his face was slightly red. I giggled and said "I'm flattered. What did he say about me?"

"Oh mostly how much he hates you"

"Yeah I saw that coming"

"But he sure talks about you a lot" A girl that looked Mary's age said walking up.

"You're Angelica, right?" I said sticking my hand out for her to shake.

"Yep! I know who you are" she laughed taking my hands.

"My sister talks about you a lot"

"Really?!" Her face lit up.

"Yeah" I giggled again. Mary was right this girl is more like her mother than her brother and her father.

"Ms. Jefferson, would you like to come in and have dinner?" Eliza asked very sweetly.

"First, you can call me Ella, no worries, and my father is waiting for me and... actually, I have to go home but if you want I can come back with my sister and we could have dinner." I smiled and side eyed Philip. I knew this would make him mad.

"Yay!!!" Angelica cheered making me laugh a bit.

"That would be great Ella" Eliza smiled.

"Yeah, great" Philip said through his teeth making me snicker.

I lean into him and whisper, "You owe me~" He groaned and I laughed.

I walked back home and ran straight to Mary's room.

"Mar!" I yelled

"Jesus! Ellie you scared me!" Mary said looking up from her drawing.

"Ooh whatcha drawing?" I ask peaking over her shoulder.

"Nothing!" She screamed. "What do you want?"

"Put something kinda nice on, I'll tell you later" I say, deciding to surprise Mary.

I walked downstairs and thought it was a bad idea to tell my dad we were going to the Hamiltons'.

"Hey dad?"

"Yes?" My dad said during around.

"I'm heading to Theo's for dinner and taking Mar ok" I lied, I felt bad lying but I knew it wouldn't end well if I didn't.

"That's fine sweetie, are you going to walk?"

"Yep! I'll see you later."

I went upstairs and put on a purple dress, a black jacket, and ballet flats. I quickly tied my curly hair into a ponytail. (A/n this is what she's wearing⬇️)

I grabbed Mary's arm and walked out the door.

"Will you tell me where we're going now?" Mary asked once we walked outside.

"Well Dad thinks we're going to Theo's but I'm not telling you where we're really going." I smiled.

"Please~" she looked up at me with puppy eyes.

"No." I laughed at her attempts.

We got to the Hamilton house and I stopped.

"Why'd you stop" Mary asked.

"We're here!" I giggled.

"Ok, so you got the wrong address."

"Nope! Me and you are having dinner with the Hamiltons! I thought you would want to come because you and Angelica are close" I said smiling at my little sister.

"REALLY?!" Mary screamed then ran towards the house.

I follow her and knock on the door. Philip and Angelica answer it. Mar and Angelica immediately hug. I look at Philip a little shocked. He's wearing an unbuttoned baby blue blazer with black jeans and a white shirt. His curly hair was actually brushed for once and the blue made his freckles pop. For some reason my checks felt a little hot. Something about the way he looked made me feel fuzzy inside.

PHILIP POV

I opened the door to see the Jefferson girls. Angie and Mary hugged and I just look at Ella. Her light purple dress compliments her dark brown eyes beautifully. The way her curly hair sits in the ponytail. For some reason I think my face turned a bit red. I notice that I'm staring.

"My mom made me wear this." I notice Ella look like she's snapping out of a deep sleep with her eyes open.

"Well you look nice" She giggled

"Thanks, not too bad yourself" I snickered

"I know. I did it without being asked too" she mocked.

"Wow, why'd you do it then, you hate dressing like that."

"Well first off, I want to impress your mother with my skills of being better than you" she laughed. "And second, I'm shocked you remember me saying that."

"Rude. My mom is pretty easy to impress though."

She just shrugged.

"Come in, I guess" I said gesturing to the inside of the house.

"Ella! I'm so glad you and your sister could come!" Mom said coming over to where me and Ella are standing.

"It's a pleasure Mrs. Hamilton." Ella said while doing the weird curtsy thing.

"Ella you can call me Eliza, Pip why don't you and Ella go upstairs and wait for dinner"

"Mom-" I started but she cut me off.

"Philip." Mom said with a stern voice.

I let out a sigh. "Follow me Ella" I walked up the stairs with Ella close behind. We got to my room and I just plopped on my bed.

"You're really good at faking nice" I said after a moment of silence.

"I know" Ella laughed and sat down on my bed next to me. "You suck at it"

For some reason that caused me to laugh too.

"Well I wasn't trying to" I said defending myself.

"Yeah sure" Ella said before she fell back, now laying on her back on my bed next to me. (Pip is on his back also)

"Well this sure is a surprise"

I quickly sit up to see Mary and Angie standing next to each other in the doorway.

"Get out of my room."

"Why so you two can kiss or something?" Mary said and Ella shot off the bed.

"MARYELLEN JEFFERSON." Her voice is pretty terrifying not gonna lie.

"Pip, we're not even in your room" Angie said laughing.

"Yeah we just didn't hear fighting from in here and thought you guys died." Mary giggled.

"Yeah, yeah, don't you two have things you could be doing?" I asked.

"Probably" Angie grabbed Mary's hand and walked away.

I turned to Ella. "You are terrifying"

"Dude, I've yelled at you dozens of times before."

"Yeah, but I always see that coming. When you're not expecting it, it's pretty scary."

"Oh so I should do it more often then?" She snickered.

I glared at her.. but it was more playful than usual.

James and AJ ran into my room.

"Hi Pip!" James chirped.

"Philip you didn't tell me you have brothers!" Ella exclaimed "Who are you guys?"

"My name's James! I'm 5!" James said putting up 5 fingers.

"I'm Alexander but everyone calls me AJ and I'm 7!" AJ happy stated.

"Philip who's pretty girl?" AJ asked looking at me.

"Um, Guys, this is Ella"

"Hi!" She quickly got on the ground with the two boys.

"Do wanna play pirates with us?" James asked smiling.

"I love pirates!" Ella said enthusiastically, I've never seen her act like this.

They ran around my room playing for a while and it was hilarious. I was given a few death glared from Ella because I was laughing so hard.

AJ pulled on Ella's dress and said, "We should play pirates and princesses!"

"Yeah! We can capture the princess and Ella can save her!" James yelled. "But we need a princess"

"Guys we have a princess!" Ella said confusing me. "Right there!" She pointed at me and laughed.

"Oh no!" I yelled and tried to rush away.

"Pip will you please play with us?" AJ asked while him and James were giving me puppy eyes.

I sighed "Fine."

A/n so originally I was going to continue but I decided to stop there so the chapter wasn't 4000 words. XD it's just under 2000 now but if I continued it would be very long so I'll continue in the next chapter. Thanks for reading and Have a good day/night!
