Knowing the boy was looking at me, although he might just have been looking at his friend, made my heart beat faster. Then, they vanished, and I was alone once again.

I became curious because of what happened. I wondered what details his path had, who was hanging out the washing on Monday, and if he could see the same river as I could. I also wondered where the supermarket they searched for could have been.

I was still standing at the intersection, so I decided to take a look. I took a few steps to the right and saw the endless river. I took another step and saw the two boys walking. I quickly turned around and scurried away.
