A/n: For those of you who know my actual family, I'm changing it up.

I slipped the paper into my pocket and started my truck.  I put the truck in drive, and headed home.  ~time skip because drives are boring~ I pulled into my driveway, and noticed that my mom's car wasn't there. 'Probably drinking.' I thought, shaking my head.  My dad was most likely still at work.

I walked in and hung my keys up.  I went to my room, with all of my fandoms plastered everywhere, and sat down on my queen sized Twilight themed bed.  Seth Clearwater, to be exact.  I pulled my phone out to text Jake, still thinking of how funny it was that his name is Jacob, but he has the hair of Booboo Stewart, who plays Seth.

Sandy✝💖: Hey, Jake.  Sandy here.
Jake🐺: Hey, Sandy.  I'm glad you made it home alright.
Sandy✝💖: Thanks.  I assume you did too?
Jake🐺: Yep.
Sandy✝💖: Good.
As I waited for a response, I noticed that the house felt a little...  Empty...
Sandy✝💖: Hey...  Can I call you?
~Incoming call: Jake🐺~
I picked up the phone.
"Hey." I said, my accent thick with the amount of unease I was feeling.
"Hey, darlin.  You ok?" He said, sounding concerned.  "So, I'm used to being home alone right after school, but something feels off." "Off how?" "The house feels unusually empty." I responded as I took off my braces and shoes.  "*Sigh* I'm weirded out." "It'll be ok.  Which parent do you live with?" "Both.  But mom is probably getting wasted.  She does it as an excuse to fight with my dad." "Call your dad, then call me back." "Ok." I hang up and call my dad.  He answers almost immediately.

"Hey, punkin.  What's up?". He asked, his accent naturally thick.  "Nothin.  The house just feels extra empty today." I responded.  "About that.  I was gonna tell you when I got home, but me and your momma are gettin a divorce.  So I made her leave and take her name off anythin that has anythin to do with us or this house.  The pickup is in your name, the Mustang is in mine." "Ok."  I said, trying to hide my relief.  "Are you ok, honey?" "I'm honestly happy."

"Really?" "Yeah.  We're finally away from her nitpicking and drinking." "Ok.  Tonight, we'll go to Olive Garden.  How does that sound?" "Amazing after the day I had." "What happened?" "Same old bullying.  But, I have a new friend who stands up for me every chance he gets." "He?" "Yes, Daddy.  The only guy I've encountered so far at that school that wasn't a creep or a jerk." "Alright.  I want to meet him."
