Mental Clarity
Watching the stars with Jake was one of the best feelings ever. It was definitely something I needed. As I was lost in my thoughts, Already Callin You Mine by Parmalee came on. I got super excited. I hadn't heard it in a while.
"Girl, where's your home town? Are those your momma's eyes? What are you doin for the rest of your life?" I continued to sing along. I was so happy.
"That was Parmalee with Already Callin You Mine. They'll be in town next week with Brantley Gilbert and Hunter Hayes!! Get your tickets now!"
My face lit up. "THEY'RE GONNA BE HERE?!" I yelled. I didn't see the gleam in Jake's eye.
I looked at the clock. 11:30. "We should get back." I said through a yawn.
"Ok. Let's go." He agreed. We hopped into the cab of the truck, and took off back to my place. "Thanks for doing this, Jake." I said.
"Of course. You definitely needed that. You already seem happier."
I hugged him. "All because of you." I said.
"I'm going to bed." I told him. "Ok. Night, darlin."
I went to my room and lied down.
That night, I had the worst nightmare I'd ever experienced to date. Mitchell and his goons were there. With Veronica.
I was tied to a chair. I watched as they beat Jake and my dad senseless. It was terrible. I threw a fit, but they couldn't hear me, so they didn't have pay attention.
Jake made eye contact with me, and his face became lifeless. Just then, I felt my head being pulled back by one of those brainless morons. Before I knew it, I felt unfamiliar lips crash onto mine in lust. Mitchell.
The worst part, was that I was totally defenseless. The other two finished off my father and just laughed. Suddenly, I woke up audibly throwing the fit from my dream.
Jake came running in. "Sandy!!!! What's wrong darlin?!?!" He grabbed me and held my arms so I would stop thrashing around. And then I collapsed and hung onto him for dear life.
All I could do was sob. "What happened?" Concern was very evident in Jake's voice.
I explained my nightmare in detail. He just held me close. Telling me everything would be ok. "You need ice cream."
He said. "I'll take you anywhere you want to go. And buy you anything you want to eat."
"You don't have to." "Yes I do. I need to take care of my baby girl."
That made me smile. I told him what I wanted, and we went. Before I knew it, I had a bag full of hash browns, and enough McFlurries to feed a family of five for about a week from McDonald's.
I was happy. When we got home, Jake put on Descendants. "We'll be watching both." "Ok."
We sat down, hit play, and started eating.
_-Time Skip-_
After the movies, I realized it was about two am. "Woah. We need to go to bed. Will you stay with me?"
"Of course. Let's go." He grabbed my hand and helped me up. We got ready for bed and lay down. "Good night, darlin." "Night, Jake."
Ok. A/n time. This chapter is short, and I'm sorry. I'll keep writing this. It may take a while. I'm grounded until further notice.
