On a busy day, several men and women chatters were heard inside the beer house. A famous store of drinks in the town.

"Heyyy, Yoongiiiii!" a drunk voice happily called.

"Oh he's here!" several men cheered while clanking their glasses.

The said man rolled his eyes and walked towards the owner of the beer house. The store actually sells different types of drinks, whether it be teas or alcoholic ones. Even poisons. The owner was just lazy to make a proper name, so he just called it beer house.

"The usual." Yoongi nodded at the owner, who in return, slides a glass towards his way.

This man, Min Yoongi, who dresses up like a beggar, is an infamous story teller in this beer house. The owner offered to give him a monthly salary for attracting tons of customers but he refused and asked for free alcohol every time he's here.

"Do you have something special for us?" a voice chirped excitedly.

"I have one.. but it's not finished yet." Yoongi stated after gulping his alcohol.

"It's alright! After all we're listening at you for free." the same voice said then several agreements resounded in the room after.

"Alright." Yoongi turned his seat around to face them. "The story that I'll tell today is 'The Emperor's Unlucky Lives'."

"Lives?" a voice asked but was hushed after.

Yoongi made a face before continuing, "Yes, lives. He was reincarnated multiple times."

"But why-"

Smacks

"Seriously shut up!" a drunken man said. "Please do continue."

Yoongi sighed. "Emperor K was a lonely boy as a child. He didn't have any siblings and his only companions were the maids and soldiers. His parents were always busy doing their duties as the emperor and empress.

The maids were also afraid of him without any reason and the soldiers aren't there to play with him. Long story short, he had no one to be with. It made him feel empty and seeks out a companion to fill that emptiness. He wasn't really talkative. He also doesn't like playing. He just wanted someone to be there with him."

"You really don't want to play?" the little girl pouts and clenched the box, dragging it towards her. "But I brought all my toys for you."

"I told you I don't like them." the boy said while lying down on the grass.

"Won't you at least try it for me?" the girl whined and went to sit beside him.

"No."

"But-"

"No."

The girl huffed.

She looked at him who had a peaceful look on his face. The sun softly highlighting his cute features.

He was always like this. It was either lying down and closing his eyes or leaning on a tree with a book on his hands.

The little girl felt sour. He was the one who decided to seek her out. What's her purpose here if he'll just ignore her existence and not be her playmate?

"Then I'll just get another playmate. You are no fun." She said while trying to stand up.

A chubby arm reached out to her own and grasped it, pulling her to sit beside him again

"Don't go."

"No." she whined. "I'm gonna go play with the others. You always ignore me." she continued with light tears on the corner of her eyes.

The little girl stood up again to grab her box full of toys but it was gone.

It set a little panic inside her but then felt relieved after hearing the familiar bell that was attached on it. The little girl whipped her head towards the sound and was baffled.

"So uh- how do you play this?"

"He grew fond of her and he eventually experienced the word jealousy."

"You didn't come yesterday." the boy muttered. His head tilting to look properly at her hand that was planted on the grass to balance her seating.

"My mom and I were too busy arranging tons of letters." she answers. "It was quite tiring." She giggled.

Oh how he loves that sound.

It was pretty funny that the sound that he used to hate before is now the sound that he adores.

"What letters?" he asked. His eyes never leaving her hand. He was tempted to put his own above it and hold her hand forever.

"Marriage proposals."

"Alrigh- Marriage what?" the boy stiffened and immediately sat up straight. His attention now diverted.

"Mom said that I am finally of age to be married, that's why several marriage proposals came."

The two became silent after that.

The girl doesn't really want to marry anyone as of now. She wants to enjoy her life more before settling down.

If she did have to marry, she wants to marry the one that she loves.

Which is the boy beside her.

She gazed at him who's busy at staring at the grass. He seems to be thinking about something so deep.

She doesn't wanna marry those people who sent her proposals.

She wants this boy who made her happy despite being her opposite self.

The two eventually separated to go home, promising to meet again next day. As the girl went home, she was greeted by her worried parents and a messy room.

"All the marriage proposals had been ripped to pieces."

"In the end he got her as his wife."

"How is he unlucky? He literally had his beloved girl as his wife, he had the power and money, he had the whole nation to himself."

"Ask again and I'll slam your head on the floor."

"No no, that's a good question." Yoongi smiled. "Well, let me continue to answer that."
