Chapter 4

The pain in his eyes almost made me cry. Loki looked broken, like someone had taken his seemingly unbreakable, wild spirit, and crushed it. I considered the fact that it was an illusion, then threw that idea away. Nobody could fake that much emotion. His eyes had very dark bags underneath them like he hadn't slept in a very long time, and his cheeks were hollow and gaunt.

"How?", I whispered. Thousands of repressed emotion began clawing their way to the surface. "Why would you do this to me? What could you have possibly gained from leaving me when I needed your support the most?"

Before my questions could be answered, the agents approached Loki and the fair maiden. "You will be taken to the infirmary and treated. We will bring you to the interrogation room later. You will be monitored the whole time." Fury said.

When they left Fury turned to Banner and asked him to treat Loki and the woman since he knew more about Asgardian anatomies. Banner hesitantly agreed and hurried to the infirmary.

'Do you think it is really him?' Fury asked me quietly.

'I believe so, but I don't know how.' I responded.

Suddenly, Banner's voice cut through the silence, 'He won't let me sedate him. He says that if he sleeps, his power could kill us all.'

'Let him stay up.' Fury replied, after a moment.

Fury was going to regret those 4 words soon.
