•mahz is the definition of a pessimist. he's constantly looking on the dark side of things and never seems to have faith things will go well. he's not depressed, he's just terribly dramatic about everything in the most negative way possible. constantly raining on everyone's parade. rachel berry is quaking.
•elaborating on the dramatic point, he's a drama king. the type to get a paper cut and complain he's gonna bleed out. it's sort of a problem for everyone around him (not yet but) because if this new reaper physically hurts him he'll just give up. like bye bitch.
•he's extremely clever though, like crazy smart. his sister is too, but he's obviously smarter, duh. he's very perceptive and puts things together easily, and when he's not being all broody, his intelligence is very obvious, not that his bad grades will tell you that.

brief backstory
•mahzun grew up with his moms and his sister, surrounded by women. even though their moms are great, he loves them very much, he was always close with amara from a young age. they were always very dependent on each other, and he wanted to be a good role model. thankfully, he never worried about becoming the "man" of the house, never tried to be overly masculine or anything of the sorts.
•his overwhelming pessimism was present from a young age, and his moms took him to multiple doctors to try and figure out if anything was wrong, but it was just his nature. he never applied himself in school because he was bored even when they moved him to gifted, and there was a bit of comments about how he was so smart but was barely passing. mahz didn't let it phase him, and after a while, he just sort of chilled at school. he's very easily mistaken for the bad boy type of you just see his attitude, minus the leather jackets and everything,
