AN:   Names abbreviated

On the administration floor of the city hospital, the corridors were quiet, several doors closed. Behind a set of double doors, seated at a conference table were Darren, David (Dave), Laurent (Lau), Larry (Lar), Teddy (Ted), Jason (Jay), Rosetta (Rose), Linda (Lin), Catalina (Cat), Shaun, Kristopher (Kris), Thomas (Tom), Eric, Sapphire (Sapp), Kaitlyn (Kat), Detective McKenna and Detective Brody, all of them looking at Sapp and Kat slumped upon the table

Thirty five minutes earlier, McKenna and Brody unexpectedly arrived at Sapp and Kat's room requesting an urgent meeting with all of them. Darren and David suggested a boardroom

Silently they all entered (See top pic) and sat around the table, Sapp and Kat moving seats either side of Mckenna and Brody and manovering the electric wheelchair's into place

McKenna stated they would be referring to Dr Sapphire Alpine-Bourgeois as Dr Sapp and Dr Kaitlyn Alpine-Bourgeois as Dr Kat, as requested by Sapp and Kat, all heads nodded in understanding
Brody:    Dr Kat's recollection stumped our team and us
McKenna:    We called on our Captain for intervention
Brody:    Under the watch of our Captain
McKenna:    Our team and us sifted through the evidence with fine tooth combs
Kat:            I take it y'all found it
McKenna and Brody:    Yes - eyes widened
Brody :    Our captain agreed this new evidence could be included in our investigation
McKenna:    This is where the intervention comes in
Brody:    To avoid our team and us from being removed from the investigation
McKenna:    Our team and us handed this evidence to our Captain siting 'Conflicts of Interest
Brody:    Our Captain and her own team investigated the new evidence only
McKenna:    Siting 'Shadow evidence to be included in the ongoing investigation of Dr Sapphire Alpine-Bourgeois and Dr Kaitlyn Alpine-Bourgeois lead by Detective Brody and myself
Brody:    Meaning . . . Det McKenna and myself were kept updated at all times
McKenna:    Ensuring our team and us remained as lead investigators
Brody:    And Det McKenna and myself as lead communicators - all heads nodded in understanding

The room fell silent for a few minutes, all of them looking at each other. The air thick with questions. McKenna and Brody knew Darren, David, Ted, Jay, Rose, Lin, Shaun, Kris, Sapp and Kat have skills very similar to there own. Being doctors . . . Surgeons, they have to listen to what is being said and have too think on there feet . . . At all times. Like McKenna and Brody, they ask the 'hard questions

The silence was broken by Brody clearing his throat
Brody:    This shadow investigation was swift and silent
McKenna:    Simultaneous searches were conducted
Brody:    Uncovering evidence resulting in arrests and interviews
McKenna:    New charges were presented and added to our investigation
Brody:    A few of the charges in place were up scaled or renamed
Sapp and Kat:        How many were arrested - straight off the bat
McKenna and Brody swallowed. This question was expected but they didn't expect it to be the first question. Mckenna and Bro had to think on there feet . . . Fast. Knowing they weren't fast enough when Sapp and Kat said "Two . . . Three" while chocking back tears. McKenna and Brody slumped in there chairs and answered "Six". Sapp and Kat crumbled, slumping atop the table, silently weeping. McKenna and Brody looked at everyone
McKenna:    Fourteen people are in custody
Brody:    All of them involved in the crime against Dr Sapphire Alpine-Bourgeois and Dr Kaitlyn Alpine-Bourgeois - All eyes moved to Sapp and Kat

Almost twenty four hours later, Darren, David and them re-entered the boardroom. Det McKenna and Brody approached with a woman. They introduced her as Captain Shue (Shue). They all greeted and moved to the conference table. At each sitting was a yellow rectangle card. Everyone sat, Shue between McKenna and Brody. Sapp and Kat moved two seated either side of Tom and Eric and manovered into place

Darren, Davis and them looked at each other for a few minutes. Shue sat still . . . Studying them, concern creeping in as the seconds ticked by
Darren and David:    Collectively . . . We don't want to knows the names of those in custody
Sapp and Kat:        We only want to know of the charges
Shaun and Kris:        Meaning . . . Should McKenna and Brody slip up . . . Its on you - looking at Shue
Kat:    Sapp and I have also graduated to an office
Sapp:    Kat and I have educated staff around us
Kat:    Difference is . . . Sapp and I have to leave our office and work alongside said staff
Sapp:    At all times . . . Something you only do now and then
Rose:    The only reason your present today
Linda:    Is to place all of us into lockdown
Ted and Jay:    Before the media release
McKenna and Brody:    Told you they were good
Darren:    Nope . . . Captain Shue knew
David:    She didn't expect us to rebuff against her purpose
Shue nodded in agreement and rested against the backrest

McKenna and Brody warned the information would cause an array of emotions. If need be, for time out, Darren, David and them could stand and move about or raise the yellow rectangle card. McKenna and Brody would continue when everyone has settled

McKenna and Brody also explained, Darren, David and them could interrupt at any time should they have questions and they will answer said question's the best to their ability to avoid conflict with their investigation or evidence. They then reiterated all discussions are to remain in the boardroom and cannot be discussed amongst themselves or with other parties upon departing, all heads nodded in agreement

Shue looked at McKenna and Brody and gently nodded her head. McKenna and Brody inhaled deeply and looked about at Darren, David and them. Tom and Eric raised and slipped onto Sapp and Kat's laps. Darren and David, who were opposite Mckenna, Brody and Shue gestured to everyone to move along. Doing as asked, Darren and David separated. Sapp and Kat manovered about, stopping between Darren and David. McKenna and Brody swallowed
McKenna:    This is in reference to the fourteen suspects we have in custody, in no particular order
Darren, David and them raised there hands, except Tom and Eric, gripped onto each other's hands and rested them atop the table. Tom and Eric curled onto Sapp and Kat's laps, burying there faces into Sapp and Kat's necks, Shue swallowed
McKenna:    Unlawfully leaking information to social media sites . . . Two charged - hands tightened
Brody:    Initiating motives . . . Four charged - Cat, Lau, Lar, Ted and Jay's shoulders dropped
McKenna:    Stalking . . . Fourteen charged - Cat's eye's welled, all shoulders dropped
Brody:    Fraud, falsifying documents . . . Six charged - Cat, Rosie, Lin, Shaun and Kris's heads lowered, Tom clung to Sapp
McKenna:    Obtaining private, personal information without consent . . . Four charged - silent tears flowed from Cat, Tom and Eric
Lau, Lar, Ted and Jay's heads lowered
Brody:    Theft . . . Two charged - no change
McKenna:    Withholding evidence . . . Six charged - Silent tears flowed from Rose, Lin, Shaun and Kris
Brody:    Tampering with evidence . . . Six charged - Cat slumped atop the table, bursting into tears
Without releasing hands, David and Kat raised a card

McKenna, Brody and Shue raised. The moved about collecting bottles of water from the fridge and several boxes of tissues. Placing the tissues randomly on the table and a bottle by each of Darren, David and them, they returned to there seats and waited

McKenna and Brody looked at Darren, David and them. They had seen the distraught expressions too many times, notably remembering the first time they met in the family lounge

There jaw's clenched, anger and bile on the rise. At that time, unbeknown to McKenna and Brody, in that room were people they now have in custody, they knew they had to calm themselves . . . Easier said than done

They had no choice when a hand waved infront of their faces. Blinking back to reality and seeing the hands belonged to Shue, both men cleared their throats and looked about. Red puffy eye's and slumped postures helped them to re-focus on claiming justice for the distraught family before them . . .
Brody:    Home invasion without forced entry was dropped and up scaled to 'Entering without forced entry to commit a planned crime . . . Nine charged
Darren:    N-NINE - Shocked
David:    Nine bastards did this to my baby and niece - chocking back tears
Brody:    The next charge will answer your question - Darren and David gulped
McKenna:    Intent to cause substantial injury . . . Eight charged
All of them crumbled atop the table, bursting into tears, except Sapp and Kat, they cradled Tom and Eric and each raised a yellow card

Shue shifted about, reaching into her handbag. Removing her hand, she reached over to McKenna and released a stress ball into his hand. Retrieving another ball, she handed it to Brody before retrieving another for herself.  McKenna, Brody and Shue proceeded to knead the balls, waiting patiently, full well knowing the next four revelations could send the family before them into a full blown meltdown or outright unstoppable riot

Settling with heads lowered, Darren and David quietly asked McKenna and Brody to continue . . .
McKenna:    Intent to cause substantial injury with weapons . . . Four charged - all of them released tears
Brody:    Intent to cause substantial injury within a cavity, this is a new charge ordered by Captain Shue, referring to Dr Sapp and Dr Kat's unborn children . . . Eight charged
McKenna, Brody and Shue could feel the table trembling, seeing Darren, David and them struggling to not crumble onto it
McKenna:    Attempted homicide has be dropped
Tear stricken faces raised, all eyes on McKenna and Brody, hands swiping cheeks
McKenna:    By order from Captain Shue . . . The charge has been up scaled to
Brody:    Orchestrated Attempted homicide . . . Fourteen charged - tears flowed down faces
McKenna:    Dr Sapp, Dr Kat, this crime against you was malicious and pre meditated by false accounts that the accused took upon themselves to believe and pursue - Sapp and Kat mouthed 'Okay
Brody:    We have one more - quietly
The room fell deathly silent, eyes were wide, heads shaking 'No . . .
McKenna:    Six charged with rape
McKenna, Brody and Shue were helpless as they watched Darren, David and them stagger toward Sapp and Kat, crumbling into a heart wrenching meltdown. Captain Shue turned on her chair and silently wept
