Thalia XXI
"Percy? Percy!"
Thalia was trembling. Why did Percy suddenly collapse? Was he dying?
She checked his pulse. It was still beating.
Why...?
"Thalia." Percy whispered. Thalia let out a sigh of relief.
“Percy?” Thalia whispered, putting her head on his chest. Kronos seemed to take the act.
“Thalia, take my mother and get out of here.” Percy whispered.
“What about you?” she muttered.
Percy thought for a while.
“I’ll follow you. You get my mother and run, and when they are distracted, I’ll get out with you.”
Thalia had a bad feeling about this, but she nodded.
“Okay.”
She faked a tear and walked towards Percy’s mother, who was crying and screaming.
“Percy!” she was yelling. “Percy…”
“Mrs Jackson.” Thalia hugged Sally, and put her mouth against her ear. “Percy’s alive. He wants us to get out of here.”
Mrs Jackson let out a sigh and was smart enough to follow Thalia’s directions without saying anything.
“I can’t believe you killed my best friend!” Thalia cried in fake desperation. She grabbed Mrs Jackson’s hand and cried “Nice meeting you!” then broke into a run.
The two demigods looked around, confused.
“What?” Kronos roared. “Seize them!”
The two demigods immediately followed them, and was fumbling to get their swords. Seems like they weren’t good fighters.
Thalia turned around and aimed her dagger to one of the demigod’s stomach.
The demigod cried in pain and tumbled to the floor. Too easy. The other demigod was closely following them.
Thalia took out her arrow and bow and tried to shoot the other demigod, but then the demigod has already fell onto the ground. On his back was a dagger.
Percy.
He had managed to nip a dagger from Luke’s pocket and set himself free.
“Run!” he cried.
Percy plucked out the dagger, ran to his mother’s side (staggering on the way) and supported her, and the three of them ran to the exit as fast as they can.
"Percy, are you okay?" Thalia asked, concerned.
Percy didn't reply.
Suddenly, a girl appeared right in front of Thalia. Thalia skidded in her tracks.
“Whoa, whoa! Who…?”
“Thalia!”
Drew?
“Drew?”Percy skidded to a halt. “What are you doing here?”
“I was asked to save you, but…then… Kronos took me away and locked me up…” Drew was sobbing. Percy glanced around nervously.
“Where’s Kronos?”
“I don’t know, you were with him just now!” Thalia cried back. This is getting really weird and confusing.
“I don’t know, he just disappeared after I took his dagger…” Percy looked just as confused.
“Never mind that!” Drew squeaked. “Run!”
The four ran out of the exit, (with Thalia supporting both Percy and Mrs Jackson) and Thalia let out a sigh of relief.
“Yes! We’re out! Come on, Mrs Jackson. Percy! You’re… Percy?”
Percy was nowhere to be seen. Neither was Drew.
“Dang! I knew it!” Thalia cursed. “Drew!”
Chiron wouldn’t ask a puny Aphrodite girl to save the son of Poseidon! Why didn’t Thalia see that just now? It was all…
A trap.
“Not again!” moaned Thalia. There was a tap on her shoulder.
Lucky Thalia had some sense not to turn her head. She felt a sharp blade rest on her shoulder.
“When did you join him?” Thalia snarled.
“I don’t understand.” Drew answered. Thalia could even just sense that Drew was smirking.
“When did you join him? Luke!” Thalia said, a little louder. Drew laughed.
“You mean when did you join your little boyfriend? It has been a long time now. Say… three months? I helped plan all this, anyways.”
“You helped plan getting Percy?” Thalia cried. How dare she? “Why did you tell me, anyways?”
Drew laughed.
“I’m going to kill you. If it weren’t for your senses you would have died when you turn your head. But now, you can’t really go anywhere, can you?”
Thalia tensed. Another joke for Gaea to laugh at. Daughter of Zeus being killed by a daughter of Aphrodite.
Then a thought struck her.
“Where’s Mrs Jackson?”
Drew seemed to notice that too.
“Oh no you don’t!” Mrs Jackson’s shrill voice shot through the air.
Then Drew was on the ground.
“Mrs Jackson.” Thalia sighed. “Thank you.”
“Percy!” Mrs Jackson dropped the rock that was used to hit Drew and ran to her son’s side.
“Mrs Jackson!” Thalia pulled Mrs Jackson back. At the same moment a bullet flew right past Mrs Jackson’s nose. She gasped in fright.
“Puny goth girl!” Thalia could hear Kronos’s voice clearly in the distance. “I’ll show her…”
Kronos came into sight, dragging the hand of an unconscious Percy. His face showed pain.
“Stupid Grace girl!” he flung away Percy’s hand and he landed on the ground with a thud.
“Be careful!” Mrs Jackson cried. Kronos smirked.
“Well then…”
He picked up Percy’s stolen dagger and took out a vile of green liquid.
“Ms Grace, do you know what is this?”
Thalia gasped.
“What do you want to do with him?”
Mrs Jackson took a step back.
“Thalia, can we leave? I can’t…” she was crying.
Thalia thought that was an absolutely great idea until…
“You thought a rock can kill me?” a voice behind them said.
Drew.
Thalia carefully put her hand into her pocket and took out a pocket knife.
“Ha, so you thought you were that...”
Thalia spun around and stuck the knife into Drew’s throat.
“Shut up.” Thalia hissed.
And that was the end of Drew Tanaka.
“Why, thank you for helping me dispose of that Aphrodite girl.” Kronos said. “However, that means…”
“RUN!” Thalia grabbed Mrs Jackson’s hand and ran to the nearby tree.
“Nico, gods, please… if you hear us…” Thalia was shaking.
“Seize them!” Kronos cried.
At the same time, Nico appeared.
“Thalia! Oh my gods, Annabeth was freaking out right now!”
“Quick!”
They shadow travelled away from that horrible place.
~
“Oh, gods, Thalia! Mrs Jackson!” Annabeth’s face shone with happiness. “I thought I’d never see… Mrs Jackson?”
Mrs Jackson’s face was white with shock.
“Did…did she see?”
Thalia nodded.
Annabeth slowly walked towards Mrs Jackson and gave her a hug.
“I’m sorry, Mrs Jackson.”
“Annabeth…” Mrs Jackson was sobbing. “I can’t… Percy… he…”
“It was all a trap.” Thalia realised. “They planned this all along. To break Mrs Jackson, and to break Percy. And in the meantime kill Mrs Jackson and Percy would be so broken and Kronos… could do whatever he wanted… I was the trespasser.”
It was all a trap.
Like before, when Percy was caught.
But this time, it failed.
“Is Percy okay, now?” Annabeth asked Thalia. Thalia sighed.
“They took out a vile of Greek fire. I don’t know what they want to do with him.”
Annabeth sighed.
“He’ll come back. I’m sure.”
Thalia looked at her best friend. Her eyes were filled with hopelessness, but still, there was a strong determination in the grey eyes.
“Annabeth…”
“He’ll come back!” Annabeth started to shout. “Promise me!”
“I-I promise.” Thalia muttered, then gave Annabeth a hug.
“Thalia, dear.” Mrs Jackson had recovered from her shock. Well, sort of. “Can you give me a drachma?”
“Uh…sure, why?”
“I’ve got something to discuss. With Percy’s father.”
Thalia handed Mrs Jackson a drachma and Mrs Jackson walked into the bathroom.
“Percy has a really dam awesome mother.”
Annabeth laughed.
Before she could reply, Nico suddenly appeared again, face white with shock.
“Nico? Are you too tired from shadow travelling? Why is your face so… white?”
“It’s not like he’s not before.” Thalia joked.
“It’s camp.” Nico panted. “Something big happened.”
AN: I just noticed I put in Drew in the same chapter I killed her.
