*flashback*

"Where are we going?" my frightened friend asked me.
"I don't know...but I am sure this way leads out of the woods..." I said, still scared.

We were taken on a trip by our kindergarten teacher to a village. However, my friend and I were separated from the group and ended up lost in the forest.

"I am scared..." she started crying.
I held her face and made her look straight into my eyes. My own eyes were getting moist as well.

"Listen, we will get out of this forest. So don't worry! I will protect you!"
"Really?" she sniffed.
"Yes, I promise."

We held hands and started walking once again. "I am hungry."
"Me too," I said, starving.

I took out a cookie that was in my pocket. I had saved it for later but now seemed like a good time to eat it. But there was only one cookie and the two of us were hungry.

"Here," I handed her the cookie.
"But you are hungry too..." she looked at me innocently.
"I am not so hungry," I grinned.

She took the cookie and stared at it. She held it with her two hands and broke it into halves.

"Here," she gave me the other half, smiling.
I took it. "Thank you."
We laughed.

"Kids! Are you there?" We heard our teacher calling out to us.

We were found.
