It's okay if you aren't a special little snowflake.

Writers, artists, songwriters, singers, dancers, painters, sculptors, and all other creators: is your work unoriginal? Did you draw a comic only to find someone made the same thing last year? Did you write a novel only to discover that there are nine hundred others that followed that exact same formula? Did you hit a note in a challenging song only to hear three other people hit the same note? Did you put your heart and soul into something only to discover that it's already been done, perhaps many times?

That's okay.

Is that plot super cheesy and stereotypical? Write it anyway. Has that comic already been made a hundred times? Draw it anyway. Has that song already been sung to perfection by literally everyone? Sing it anyway.

If you put your heart and soul, time and effort into doing something, it doesn't matter if it's original. Hell, it doesn't even matter if it's good. You still tried, you still put in the work and if that's the best you can do then that is enough. Or maybe it's not even the best you can do. Maybe it's just something that you really enjoy doing. If it makes you happy, that is enough!

You don't have to be Leonardo Da Vinci to be a good painter! You don't have to be Vergilius Maro to be a good poet!

You do not have to be the best or the most unique to be good at something, and you do not have to be good at something to be enough.
