Nick: mum! I can't find my sports socks!
Me: did I not ask you yesterday if your sports uniform was ready to go.
Nick: maybe...
Me: *knowing it's 6.30am* Have your shower and I'll help you look for them when I get up at 7.
Nick: but I have to wear my school ones or I'll lose points.
Me: I know, but I'm not getting up to find your socks right now.
*7am*
Nick: I still can't find them.
Me: I didn't see them in the wash this weekend, are they still in the wash basket?
Nick: *goes off and comes back* Nope.
Me: are they in your drawer cause you said they weren't last week when you couldn't find them but I found them in there.
Nick: *goes off and comes back* Nope.
Me: have you checked your bed? *knowing he wears them to bed and takes them off*
Nick: *goes off and has a look* I found them!
Me: *waits for it*
Nick: found the other pair too!
Me: 🙄
