-So I started my new job last week, which is full time, but I love it.
-Drive home after finishing my first day at 5pm, tired but happy.
-Am about ten minutes from my dads house to pick Chloe up when I decide to ring the boys at home.

Nick: hello
Me: hi it's me, how was your day?
Nick: good
Me: I'll be at least half an hour by the time I pick Chloe up and get back home, you and jamie go ahead and have dinner
Nick: Jamie's not here
Me: *silence*
Me: *thinks*
Me: *realises where jamie is*
Me: *feels very nauseous*

Me: I gotta go

-Hang up and ring my dad
Me: I'm gonna be late cause I forgot to pick jamie up from junior band practice at school
Dad: *laughs*
Me: *hangs up*

-Find a missed call from Jamie's music teacher
-Call back and apologise profusely and say I will be there in 20 minutes even though it's really a 30 minute drive
-Music teacher assures me jamie is fine but I know better
-Realise this is the calm before the storm
-Finally pull up at Jamie's school at 5.50pm, only 50 minutes late
-jamie glares at me as he puts his bag in the back and gets in the front seat
Me: so how are you?
Jamie: don't touch me
Me: okay
Me: *starts driving home knowing it's best to keep my mouth shut*
Jamie: junior band was good thanks for asking
Me: that's good
Jamie: don't think I'll join though
Me: why not
Jamie: you might forget me again
Me: I didn't forget you, I just got really busy
Me: *I really did forget him but I'm not confessing to that*
Jamie: how could you forget your own child, your own son?
Me: *thinks if junior band isn't a go that maybe drama class might be the way to go*
Jamie: I was so cold
Me: it's still 16 degrees
Jamie: I could have died
Me: *from over exaggeration maybe*
Me: how can I make it up to you? Can we stop at the supermarket and I can get you anything you want?
Jamie: anything?
Me: anything
Jamie: pizza
Me: okay
Jamie: and chocolate...and a Lipton iced tea...and the thing in the frozen part with the m&m's...
Me: okay
-Drive to the supermarket then pick Chloe up, much to my dad and Chloe's amusement
-Arrive home at 6.45pm and cook jamie his pizza
-Decide I'm not overly hungry and sit in the couch in silent guilt reflecting on how bad a mother I am before I go to bed
