A/N: 05/21/2016

Hi guys...I decided to update one more chapter for you all. I didn't want to leave you hanging after the last chapter when Helena was drugged...hope you like it.

Thank you all for the wonderful comments and messages you have sent me. I have to admit it warmed my heart that you think highly of me and I also have to admit that I have been crying on and off since yesterday...today marks six months that my grandmother passed away and I am still very much heartbroken over it. 

Anyways...after this chapter I am contemplating in either ending the book and maybe come back with a sequel or continuing for a few more chapters then start a sequel...I will think about it for a while...let me know what you guys think.

Kane's P.O.V.

I am getting ready to go pick Helena up to head over my best friend Jimmy's party. He is turning twenty-three years old, so he decided to throw a Birthday bash at his place.

Jimmy and I have known each other since middle school. We had an unfortunate meet the first day of school during lunch period over a girl named Malory Sanchez. I still remember her name.

She was in a few of my classes, including homeroom. We flirted with each other until I asked her to hang out for lunch. Once I got there, I see this tall skinny ass kid flirting with her. I got mad, stepping to him I asked him what he thought he was doing talking to her. Giving me a smart-ass remark, we just started fighting.

The fight was broken up by a teacher then we were sent to the principal's office. He gave us a break though, instead of suspending us, he gave us detention for a week. We ended up talking, getting to know one another seeing that we had a lot in common. Like both our dads being criminals, of course mine being the leader of the biggest organized gang in the state, while his dad being one of the biggest drug dealers in the city. Just picture the conversation we both had about our 'role models'. For sure they were not coming to Career Day at school.

We stuck together throughout middle school then high school becoming like brothers instead of best friends. Besides Donovan and Ace, I trust him with my life.

Sliding my shoes on I hear my cell ringing. Picking it up after looking at the caller I decide to answer it.

"Hello?" wondering what she wants.

"I need to see you." responding without a greeting.

I sigh. "Why?"

"Because I miss you. Should there be any other reason?"

"I am busy, I can pass by tomor--" she cuts me off.

"Tonight. I miss you, please." pleading like she usually does.

Running my hand over my hair I try to explain to her. "I have somewhere to be, I am running late as it is."

"Is it business?"

"No, I – I am picking someone up."

"Someone? Is it a girl? Who is she?"

"Someone. Jimmy is throwing a party for his birthday tonight.

There is silence on the other line. "I have not heard or seen you in a while. Please, I miss you. It will not take too long You can tell her that you have some business to take care off."

Thinking about it for a few seconds I realize I have not seen her in a while. These couple of weeks have been stressful. Maybe she can help me out with it.

"Fine. I will be there in thirty." relenting I exhale. I know if I do not go see her, she will keep calling or texting me. Even show up at the house. What if I was with Helena? What would I say to her?

"Promise?" she asks making sure I keep my promise.

"I promise." reassuring her.

"Okay, I will be waiting. Do not take too long."

"I won't, see you." before I end the call, she tells me. "I love you Kane, I cannot wait to see you."

After finishing getting dressed, I head downstairs where I see Donovan.

"Hey, I need you to get Helena for me and meet me at Jimmy's."

He cocks his brow. "Why?"

"Because I need you to pick her up for me."

"Again. Why?"

Grunting in frustration. "I have to go somewhere?"

Tilting his head to the side he squints his eyes. "Where?"

"Who are you? My dad?" telling him with annoyance in my voice.

"Pshh, do not insult me."

"Just pick her up and meet me over there. I will be there as soon as I can." turning around to leave his question stops me.

"What do I tell her?"

"What?" I turn and ask.

He sighs. "What do I tell Helena when she asks where you are?"

Staring at him I bite the inside of my cheek. "Tell her I had some business to take care of."

His lack of response lets me know he does not believe me. Donovan can always tell when I am lying.

"Fine." getting up to walk out with me.

"Thanks."

Both stepping out of the house we walk towards our cars. "Hey, Donovan." calling his attention.

"Yeah?"

"I trust you to keep Helena with you at all times. Do not let her out of your sight, do not let any guy talk or touch her. Also make sure she does not take anything from anyone. I swear I will hurt you if anything happens to her." telling him seriously.

"Chill bro. I will watch her like a hawk." smirking like if that works on me.

To let him know I am dead serious I glare at him. "See you in a few hours." opening the door to my car sitting down.

Nodding his head, he does the same. Fifteen seconds later we drive out of the driveway. Donovan on his way to Helena's house and me going to see -- her.

After being at her house for two hours I am finally on my way to Jimmy's house. When I got there, she was waiting by the door for me. I did not even make it halfway up the walkway without her running up to me and engulfing me into a huge embrace.

"I miss you Kane." she told me with a big smile on her face then kissed me. Her sweet perfume hitting my nostrils. "Come on, I have something that I know you will like." grabbing my hand she pulled me towards the house.

Following her inside I see what it was. I guess she knew that I needed to distress.

Pulling up the driveway to Jimmy's I see how packed the place is. Jimmy has always been known to throw big parties, even when we were in school. His dad did not mind since he would sell his supply to our friends.

Finding a parking spot, I shut off the ignition and sit inside for a while. I make sure I fix my hair wiping off the lipstick on my face not wanting Helena to know where I was. I even smell like her. Reaching over the center console I open the glove compartment. Taking out a bottle of cologne that I always keep and spray myself with it.

Glancing at myself one more time in the mirror I open the door and get out. I could not wait to see my princess.

Heading up the stairs some people that I know greet me. Nodding in response I make it to the door and go in. Just like I expected, the place is packed.

Making my way through the crowd, a few girls stop me to dance or flirt. Ignoring them I walk around them. Before, I would have definitely stay to flirt back then fucked them an hour after meeting them. Now, no other female besides Helena interests me.

Looking around the place I see if I can spot my princess or Donovan. Even Ace and Jimmy but because of the crowd, it is hard to locate them.

"Kane! Yo, Kane?" hearing my name and someone touch my shoulder, I turn around to see Ace.

"Ace. Have you seen Helena and Donovan?" leaning over so he can hear me over loud music.

Ace smirks nodding his head to the side to follow him which I do. A few minutes later we go into a quieter section of the house where I see Donovan with some girl sitting on his lap.

"Don." getting his attention.

Snapping his head over to me he widens his eyes. Glancing around the room I do not see Helena.

"Where is Helena?" I grit staring at him.

He visibly gulps. "She -- she was not feeling well so Jimmy took her to his room..." the death look I give him stops him. He knows I am beyond pissed.

Turning around I make my way to the stairs to Jimmy's room. I ask Donovan for one fucking favor, and he fucks it up. Helena better be alright because brother or not, I will hurt him.

Rushing up the stairs I head towards Jimmy's bedroom which is at the end of the hallway. "Kane, she should be fine. Jimmy made sure she was in his room so no one could bother her." Donovan says behind me.

Slamming the door open I glance around the room and see Jimmy on top of a female. The room is dimmed.

"YOU-..." shouting until Jimmy turns to look my way.

"Kane? Bro what are you doing in my room?" Jimmy shouts back.

"Kane? Bro what are you doing in my room?" Jimmy shouts back.

He turns on the light revealing him with some girl that is not Helena. "Where the fuck is Helena?"

"Helena? She obviously is not here."

"No shit Sherlock! Donovan said you told him she was not feeling well, and you brought her in here. So, where the fuck is she?" raising my voice while clenching my fists.

"She was not feeling well, and I did bring her in here to lay down. I left for a while then came back to check up on her except, she was not here. I looked around but thought maybe she felt better and was somewhere around the house until..." looking down at the girl he smirks.

My jaw ticks. These assholes lost my girl in this big ass house. Flaring my nostrils, I turn around to leave the room. I need to find her -- now.

Stepping into the hallway I stalk over to the next door opening it, but she is not in there. Checking two more rooms, the same. Until I open the one across the hall. Slamming it open I glance around until my eyes land on a guy half naked on top of my Helena. I see red...

"YOU ARE A FUCKING DEAD MAN!"

Running to the fucking bastard with my fist clenched I punch him square in his jaw knocking him off her. I am going to kill him until I look over at her. Her glassy eyes look into mine, my eyes darting down to her half naked body and that is when I lose it.

"YOU, FUCKING WHORE!" screaming not believing that she would let some punk ass touch her.

When I go to grab her Donovan stops me rushing over to her. He begins to shake her. "Helena! Helena!" not able to wake her up.

Jimmy goes over to them lifts her hand checking her wrist for a pulse.

"Shit Kane. We need to take her to a hospital, now. I think she was drugged." Jimmy stands up taking out his phone.

It takes me a few seconds to take in what he says. I look down at the bastard that drugged and assaulted my princess. A smirk plastered on his face.

Bringing my hand behind my back I pull out my gun and shoot him with no hesitation.

"No one fucking touches my girl and lives." placing my gun back I turn and look at my princess. How can this happen to her again? The fucked-up thing about this is that I was not here to protect her -- like I promised her I would.
