[3] How Cute & Lovely

A/N Edited.

Wade's POV

"That's what you get losers!" She shouted making them hear it. I was astonished and greatly surprised by what she did beating up those guys.

I was driving my way home when I passed by her on the sidewalk. I also noticed a bunch of guys following her from behind. Did she notice them? They looked like they were up to no good though. I quickly parked by the sidewalk and slowly made my way behind them. I could sense something bad was going to happen. As I made my way towards the alley where she turned I heard faint voices from a distance.

"Show yourselves," Elizabeth shouted.

"So this pretty lady knew we tagged along eh?" the guy in black said. I peered over to Elizabeth who seemed shocked as she runs her eyes through them. One, two, three... there were eight men who surrounded her.

"What do you want?" Elizabeth asked with scrunched eyebrows.

"We just want to hang out with you a little more," I could see some of the guys had knives in their back pockets and I could feel some even had guns. Damn this woman, I was about to step out of the shadow and make a move but not until...

She started to fight with them! They started to charge at her but she was able to defend herself. She kicked the man straight where the sun doesn't shine.

"Sh*t!" he hissed holding his crotch. Another one grabbed her but she gave him an uppercut with all force that made him scream in pain. Now the leader attacked her. He made a straight punch but she ducked it and gave him a jab and made a combo move of kicking his balls and punching his face. That made him fall as in fell down and become unconscious. I saw another guy charging at her but it looked like she wouldn't see it coming so I instinctively run my way towards the guy and charged him while punching him straight in the gut.

"Leave the girl alone or I'm calling the police, assholes," I said while glaring at all of them. They all shouted at each other like their plan failed and scrambled to run away from the scene.

"That's what you get losers!" Elizabeth shouted as the guys turn to the next corner of the alley. I clapped at how she was able to handle those guys but still, it could get dangerous.

"Didn't expect you to beat them but wow! I was walking by but then I saw you, I was about to help but it looked like you managed to do it on your own. You have earned my respect!" I said. She looked up at me with a glare.

"What do you mean congrats?" She hissed and looked irritated. She walked past and ignored me. Snob. I turned around to see what's she going to do but she disappeared. Who knew she could run fast? I looked at my phone to check what time it and it looks like I must be home right now because mom said guests will be having dinner over.

As soon as I arrived home I heard my mom shouting at me.

"Where have you been?" she asked with her hands on her hips.

"Just dropped by somewhere." I tried to sound as cool as I can but she fell for it. I then dropped my bag on the living room couch and went upstairs. I took a bath and decided to wear a white V-neck with shorts. I heard some noises downstairs.

"John! They're here! Come on downstairs!" my mom shouted from downstairs. I hate it when she calls me John.

"Coming!" I said while going downstairs. I saw a girl's back and I suppose her mom too.

"Oh there he is, Jessica!" my mom exclaimed pointing at me. The girl named Jessica turned her back and faced me. She looks familiar, I narrowed my eyes then after I realized who she is my eyes grew wide in surprise. The nerd who was called Elizabeth looks just like her but prettier. She looks astonished by the fact that observing her eyes are wide-eyed.

We sat at the table to eat.

"Jessica this is John, John this is Jessica." my mom introduced us to each other. She just looked away.

Jessica's POV

"I'm sorry but you look strangely familiar." Loser said narrowing his eyes. I rolled my eyes.

"Should we tell him?" My mom whispered beside me and nudged my elbow. I nodded. She took a deep breath and was cut off by Daniella.

"John, do you remember when we mentioned hiring a bodyguard for your own safety?" Daniella asked her son as she passed the salad to me.

"She is your new bodyguard," My mom added. Babysitter.

"She works for the SIA, we figured it would be better to hire someone whose same as your age, you might have come across her at school earlier," Daniella explained as she looks at Wade with concern in her eyes. Wade's eyebrows shot up but still doesn't realize that I'm the one they encountered earlier in the classroom. This was actually a good thing because it means that my disguise perfectly went well.

"Hi, I'm Jessica, remember me?" I smirked and let out a small wave of acknowledgment. I could see that Wade was examining me very closely as his eyes narrowed while probably analyzing the events that had happened to him today at school.

"Your voice sounds strangely familiar," Wade muttered as he still figures out who I could be while biting his lip.

"Give up?" I asked while wiggling my eyebrows at him. Looking defeated because he couldn't tell who I am, he shrugged his shoulders.

"I'm Elizabeth, nice to meet you, Wade," I say with a grin. A look of realization hits him because as soon as I mentioned the name, he froze like he has seen a ghost.

"Elizabeth? That's you?! Impossible, because Elizabeth is a nerd in our school," He said while scrunching his eyebrows. Yeah, duh. Of course, I would be in disguise because who would want attention? Not me, cause I'm an agent.

"Yep, the one and only," I replied flatly. My mom and Daniella were happily chatting and catching up with each other since it has been months since they last saw each other. On the other hand, the dads were done eating and went to the living room to watch some baseball reruns. That leaves me and Wade quiet at the table. Awkward.

"I saw you earlier beat up eight guys in the dark alley," Wade said. I immediately looked at my mom to see if she had heard it because she would definitely not be happy hearing this kind of news. To my zero luck, my mom seemed to overhear while she was happily chatting with Daniella. Her smile dropped as soon as she heard what Wade said. Damn it, Wade! You're going to get me in trouble.

"Is that why you arrived home late, honey?" My mom asked with a forced smile. I just looked down at my food refusing to answer because once this discussion starts, you'll never hear the end of it. What is it with moms and their never-ending scolding and sermons? It's not like I'll be a refreshed new person the following day after an earful.

"How many times do I have to tell you not to beat up other people?" My mom scolded me as I shrug. I used to remember when I was a kid, avoid trouble as much as you can. If you can run, then run. But if you are left with no choice but to defend yourself, you just have to do it.

"I just defended myself. They were the first ones to attack me," I explained. I was outnumbered by those guys earlier and I figured that I was trapped in the alley. I didn't have much choice, didn't I? What was I supposed to do? Sweet talk them?

"But what did I tell you?" My mom said with a sigh. I was actually a bit safe from receiving an earful since we were at someone else's house. If this was at home, it could've been worse.

"You only punch people if you have no choice but have to," I said in a low voice. But I really did not have a choice then.

"I really had no choice but to do that since I was outnumbered and they looked like guys from the DAA," I explained as I scratch the back of my head. Actually, now that I've mentioned it, they may be people under the DAA since I did not obtain any info about them. It's like the general database was manipulated and the only ones with the ability to do that were the SIA and DAA.

After I mentioned the DAA, my mom who was about to take a bite of her food came to an abrupt stop. Oops, the DAA is a very sensitive topic to my parents because ever since all their missions were stopping or resolving problems brought about by the DAA.

"Sweety, what did you just say?" Her mom asked gripping her utensils tight. Uh-oh. The last time the DAA intervened with my family was when I was a kid. I was playing in the backyard when someone trespassed in the garden and attempted to kidnap me. It was just about timing that my dad happened to get something from the backyard shed before he realized what was going on.

"They looked like agents from the DAA," I said slowly instantly regretting bringing the DAA up. Damn you, Wade, and your stupid mouth. I could see the anger flashing in my mom's eyes.

"Okay, if you'll all excuse me, I have to make a phone call," Mom said standing up and going outside to make a call.

"Oh sure," Daniella replied as she started to clean up the dining table. I helped her gather the dishes and put them in the sink.

"Don't worry, I got this dear," Daniella's mom snatched the dishes from me and motioned for me to go somewhere else other than the kitchen. I walk by the living room to see Dad and Mr. Johnson laughing about something while pointing at the TV. I shook my head as I make my way to the backyard.

I leaned over the railings as I intake the cold night breeze.

"So that explains everything," I hear someone murmur beside me. I look up to see Wade also leaning by the railings.

"You talking to yourself, idiot?" I asked while smirking. Thinking back on what happened in the alley earlier, I realize how much of an idiot Wade is. Stepping into a fight he can't handle.

"Do you even know how to throw punches?" I ask remembering how he threw a punch in the air earlier during the fight. I held myself from bursting into laughter because he really looked like he didn't know what he was doing and just got dragged by a cat into the fight.

"Whatever. So this is the real you, huh?" He smirked as he scans my body. Ew, gross.

"Keep your eyes to yourself, no wonder your parents hired you a bodyguard," I shot back referring to the fight he did earlier. This boy definitely needed some lessons on self-defense. He instantly glared at my remark.

"Watch what you say, you're still a nerd to me," He said while glaring at me. I huffed in annoyance. I guess I have to guard an arrogant guy all the time. As I look at the stars, I could feel his deep stare at my periphery. I snapped to look at him.

"What? Enjoying the view?" I asked while crossing my arms over my chest.

"Yep, absolutely cupcake," He replied while smiling and stepping closer to me. I could feel his minty breath fan on my face and I shivered. I took a step back and rolled my eyes at him. He chuckled at my response and just shook his head.

"Can I ask you a question? I've been dying to ask this," He said now becoming more serious than I ever heard from him. I nodded.

"Do you bring a gun with you? I figured since you were an agent, don't agents carry guns with them?" He asked as he looked me in the eye. He had the most beautiful electric blue eyes that had me in a daze for quite a while. Okay, his eyes were mesmerizing okay? I shrugged my internal thoughts and cleared my throat.

"Yep, in fact, I carry one now, although it's just a pocket pistol," I said as I point at my left boot. I always place my gun on my left boot or pocket since it would be a lot easier for me to grab it in case of emergency and since I was left-handed. His eyes widen as he followed where I was pointing at.

"My turn to ask," I said smiling. What could be a good question to ask? I immediately remembered that he was an heir to the Fidelity Investments and Trading (FIAT) company that his father started. He would have no problem looking for a job once he graduates from school. "What do you want to be when you grow up?" I asked.

"I want to be an architect when I graduate but since I was an heir to my parents' company, I'll probably take the business," Wade explained with a sad look. Although he was stinkin' rich that he didn't need a job to live, I noticed this was an issue with some people because some follow what their parents want disregarding what they really want to be in the future. I nodded understanding the situation he has.

"Since when did you start doing these kinds of things? I mean the agent thing," he asked as he glanced over at me.

"I entered the agency when I was fifteen but I already started my pre-training on self-defense and martial arts when I was six," I explained. "When I was fifteen, they introduced me to the SIA or Secret International Agency and that's where I really learned about the real world," I added. I never really got to live a peaceful life, but that's okay for me to be honest. I actually enjoy what I do so I don't have any problems with it.

"What's with the changing look thing though?" He asked pertaining to the disguise I had earlier at school today.

"I started to go on different missions which required me to move from country to country, I also had to go in disguise because they might backtrack me and my family because my real identity could get me killed," I said casually. "That's why I always carry a gun with me," I added as I glanced over at my black boots.

"Honey, it's time to go home," My mom poked her head into the backdoor entrance and we both turn to look at her.

"That's my cue, see you at school tomorrow, Loser," I chuckled because when he heard the last part, he glared at me as I make my way back inside.

*****

Another day of torture. ugh. I jumped out of bed then went inside the bathroom then to the closet. I sighed. I look over the file that Martha had given me and saw that I had to wear a blue sweater paired up with black joggers and some rubber shoes.

I headed towards my black Audi and drove my way to school. As soon as I parked my car at the back of the ice cream shop, I turned off the ignition and locked the doors. I walked a few blocks from school and it was fine with me since I consider this exercise.

Once I got to school, I entered the school hallways and I received a lot of glares from girls. The news about my and Wade's face-to-face conversation traveled along with the campus and I presume will be the gossip of the week. I sighed. So much for blending in.

Once I got to my locker, I opened it and a pile of papers fell down to my feet. I bent over to pick the pieces of paper. I read some that say:

Watch your back girl, you mess with Wade, you mess with me.

Psh, that's cute.

Talkback at him again or I swear I'll make your life a living hell.

How lovely.

I sighed as almost all of them were threats and I suppose they were from his little fan club. I gathered everything and then threw it in the trash can because I didn't care about these high school threats. I received much greater threats than these during my missions in the SIA.

As I slammed my locker door shut, I saw something in the corner of my eye, a girl being bullied by barbie wannabes. The next thing I knew, I helped the girl pick up her things then I introduced myself.

"Hi, I'm Elizabeth." I greeted smiling at her. She smiled back at me and gave me a handshake.

"Hey, I'm Ella," she said still smiling. She was a small petite girl with cute freckles. It's about time I make new friends make this role more believable.

"Want to eat lunch together later?" I asked hoping she would agree.

"Sure," she replied then bid her goodbye.

"See ya Later!" I said heading to my next class.

Morning periods passed by in a blur then it was already lunch. I spotted an empty table and then seated there. I saw Ella looking for me then I waved at her then motioned her to sit beside me. She headed towards my table and then seated across from me.

After a week passed by, so far no attempts have been observed and so far I usually tail behind him. There were no suspicious people that I noticed. Ella and I became good friends, best friends. I've never had a best friend before. She shows me the other side of her, the happy, carefree, and cheerful side of her rather than the other side.
