[18] Food Fight!

A/N Edited.

"Are you serious? People are starting to whisper!"

I, for the nth time, shouted quietly at Jordan as he walked beside me with a smug look.

Ever since the incident, coincidentally or should I say not, Jordan was in all of my classes.

"Look, I'm here, what does that mean?" he sighed as he massaged his temples in frustration.

Jordan figured that he had to be in proximity, since the kidnapping incident, as a secondary agent.

"Hello?" Wade annoyingly squeezed between us and he waved his hand over our faces. Ever since the revelation of Cameron being Jordan, he was nothing but annoyed by his presence. I didn't exactly know why.

"Now I'm stuck with two troublesome boys, great," I muttered as I received murderous glares from the whole female population. I could feel their stares burning holes in my back as I walked towards the back of the classroom. I'm going to be expecting more teenage drama than what I have on my plate now.

After leaving the medical facility, I had written a report about what happened before, during, and after the incident. Because of my very descriptive writing, I think it reached about five thousand words.

The following day, Jordan appeared on my doorstep early in the morning.

"Wow, Parker. You look different," Jordan observed as his eyes sparkled in amusement, and look at me from head to toe while wiggling his eyebrows. I was wearing an oversized sweater, baggy jeans, retainers, and glasses. He, on the other hand, didn't even bother changing a bit of his appearance.

Then, after a few seconds, Wade's car came into my view and honked his horn. "Don't tell me he's going to ride with us," Wade snapped and shot daggers at Jordan as he sat on the passenger seat.

"Hey!" He shot, but Jordan ignored him in reply. I wasn't in the mood to deal with these idiots arguing early in the morning.

The three of us went to school not until I forced them to drop me off a few blocks away since I couldn't risk getting caught with attention. Jordan got off the car with me as Wade drove to the school parking.

As soon as I stepped through the school doors, whispers erupted in the hallways.

"What is a nerd doing with the two hottest boys in school?"

"Maybe she pays them."

"She's not that pretty anyway, it's disgusting."

"It always had to be the nerd."

I ignored all the insults that were thrown from left to right. "Were they always like that?" Jordan caught up with me as he shot a glare from the people who gossiped for a living.

"Pretty much, yeah. It's okay, they're harmless anyway. That's the most they could do, gossip and start rumors," I shrugged it off because it was partly true. Most people didn't have the courage to actually face the problem and they'd rather start groundless rumors for the whole school to talk about.

Ever since the kidnap thing happened, Ella never showed up in school, which is a good thing, because if I see her, I will claw her face and boobs out.

"As long you know the truth, it won't matter anyway," I added.

"At least their gossip about me is true. I heard them talking about the hottest guy in school," he said as he shot the ladies a flirtatious smile to which they started drooling.

"Shut up! Yes, we get it, you've got the girls, Jordan," I flatly replied.

"Why can't you be like these girls?" He teased as two girls wrapped their hands around each of his arms and grinned at them.

"Hi, Cameron," one of them greeted. "Hey, babe!"

I shot him a disgusted look. Wade suddenly slipped into the conversation, "Because she's not like those other girls," which took Jordan by surprise and he just threw me a smirk.

"Well, if you'll excuse me, I have business to attend to," he winked and happily walked away with the two girls. Wade passed by while he was catching up with his friends.

I walked towards my locker to see Charlotte standing there as if she was waiting impatiently for someone. She was talking to her friends – or should I say minions – and laughing at something minion #1 said.

Once I reached my locker, I grab the books for the next class and was confronted by Charlotte. She flipped her hair while checking her nails when her eyes flickered towards me.

"Listen here, nerd, this is my second warning, stay away from Wade because he's mine," she said in her irritating high-pitched voice as she took a step closer to me hearing her gazillion inch high heels clacked on the floor. I flinched at her voice. Soon after, her faithful minions followed through,

"Yeah, stay away from him!"

"You're not his type anyway!"

I remained silent and resisted the urge to break her nose as I clench and unclench my fist.

She smacked her lip-glossed lips seeming unfinished with what she was about to say, "Secondly," she looks at me from head to toe with disgust, "You're not his type so stop dreaming," her minions threw words of agreement as Charlotte, or should I call Barbie, flipped her bright golden blonde hair over her shoulder, again.

I, remembering I had to keep up with the Elizabeth façade, croaked out, "Sorry," and tried to walk out of the situation. As I passed by them, a freshly manicured hand gripped my shoulder as the nails dig into my sweater and violently turned me over to face her make-up-dipped face.

I took a deep breath. I didn't want to look as strong as I intended to be because I wanted to avoid issues with her. She was the gossip queen, everyone loved her, the girls envied her because she was captain of the cheer squad, and the boys worshipped her body. Getting on her bad side meant getting on everyone's bad side as well.

"We're not done yet, nerd," she screeched as she grabbed a fistful of my hair. And I actually thought she was harmless. I felt a flash of panic because I was wearing a wig. If she pulled too hard, that would mean the wig would fall off.

Oh shit. I immediately pulled her hands away from my wig and twisted her wrist until she screamed with the highest pitch you could ever imagine. If this girl had superpowers, it would definitely be like Black Bolt's.

"Look, I don't want any trouble, please just stop," I almost choked while saying those words. Bitch, what I meant was stop it or I'll break your face.

She gasp horrified by my action. She quickly yanked her hand from my loose grasp and regained her posture. Her last words were "Hmph!" as she walked away purposely bumping my shoulder.

This was going to be another long day.

*****

It was now lunchtime. As I enter the cafeteria, all eyes were on me. How am I not surprised? I suppose news really traveled faster than Flash, himself. The lunch ladies serving food in the cafeteria even knew the news about Charlotte attacking me early in the morning.

I sat at one of the corner tables and hid from the two boys because I knew they would annoy the hell out of me during lunch. I check my phone for new notifications.

None.

The cafeteria doors burst open to reveal Jordan walking side by side with two girls whom I remembered I shared history class, Alice and Michaela. He was followed by Wade who was goofing off with his friends. They all sat at the center table because that's where the popular always sit. Once they got seated, Charlotte squeezed herself in between Wade and Anthony so that she sat next to Wade. Once she secured her spot, she wrapped her arms around Wade's neck and kissed him. I could tell from the angle that she was kissing him by the lips but I couldn't tell if Wade kissed that barbie back. A small part of me wished he never reciprocated it.

This made me choke while drinking coke. I felt a burning sensation on the back of my throat and had to cough multiple times in an attempt to relieve it. I felt my insides curl up and a wave of unexplainable anger that I accidentally crushed my can. I shifted my gaze to Jordan who seemed to be glancing at me with a big smirk plastered on his face. I think he saw me. Oh god. Internally groaning, I shot him the finger.

The two broke free from the kiss and I felt my insides drop. I saw Charlotte shoot me a glance with a victorious smile playing on her face. Wade seemed to have registered what happened and said something to Charlotte that made her face morph into a scowl. I couldn't make out what they were arguing about but Barbie wasn't too happy about it.

He glanced at the whole cafeteria-like he was looking for someone then his gaze landed on me. He whispered something to his friends which made them whistle and howl in amusement as he stood up from his seat, grabbed his food tray, and walked in my direction. Jordan, along with his bimbos, followed.

"Hey, Liz! What are you doing out here alone?" Jordan greeted. "You remember Alice and Michaela from history class, don't you?" I smiled at the two girls. They were nice to me in class. Wade took the seat beside me.

"Just because," I shrugged as I took a bite of my mint dark chocolate Musketeers bites. "Ella hasn't been going to school ever since."

"A little birdy told me you had a catfight earlier with Charlotte over there," Jordan teased as he leaned forward with both of his elbows propped on the table.

"You mean with Malibu Barbie? Yeah, I was shocked she suddenly attacked me," I replied as I rolled my eyes and unconsciously looked at my right shoulder where she had dug her nails earlier.

"You let her attack you?" Wade asked in surprise. "Well, I am nerdy Elizabeth," I snapped as my head turned in his direction.

"That's Charlotte alright. Last junior year, she threatened a poor girl who was just assigned as a partner with Wade. She never came back to school. I wonder what happened," Michaela chimed in as she took a bite of her clubhouse sandwich.

"During junior prom, she really made sure that no girl came near Wade and danced to him all to herself," Alice added as she glanced at the center table where Charlotte was flirting with one of the guys from the football team.

"Yeah, that was true. I think I was traumatized after that," Wade shuddered at the thought. I took another bite of my chocolates but Wade snatched the pack from me. "You're eating this for lunch?" Wade asked incredulously as he raised the pack. "Uh, yeah?" I didn't see what was wrong with eating chocolates for lunch. He glared at me and replied, "You can't eat this! You have to eat something healthy because the doc-----oomph!" Wade was cut short when Jordan kicked Wade's foot under the table. He groaned in reply and shot up from his seat to walk back to the counter.

"Hey, Liz! Want to come with us later after school? We're going to the mall," Alice excitedly asked. "Sure, I'd love to," I replied because I didn't want to go straight home after school. "Great! I'll text you later!"

Wade came back with a tray of his definition of healthy food which was an apple, milk, and a salad. I looked at him in horror.

"I'm not going to eat the salad," I stated, my decision being final as I munch on an apple. I'm not much of a vegetable and salad fan, and would rather eat a big slice of steak or anything with rice.

"Fine, but finish the apple and the milk," he said with a firm look.

"Yes, dad," I teased as I threw him a piece of leaf from the salad. He seemed taken aback by my act but grabbed the crackers Jordan brought and threw them at me. Thank me and my avoiding skills as I successfully avoid the biscuit and it landed on the guy sitting behind me.

"Hey! I was eating that!" Jordan exclaimed as he lunged at Wade accidentally hitting the glass of juice on the table with his elbow. The glass of juice trickled down Wade's pants.

Then as if time seemed to freeze, someone yelled, "Food fight!"

****

I was covered in spaghetti sauce because some kid I didn't know threw it on my back. Wade had sweet tea all over his shirt. Jordan had orange juice all over his favorite pants and was well-covered in pretty much every food that was thrown.

Wade seemed to be watching in amusement and I just shot him a glare to just shut up. Jordan, on the other hand, was happily eating his sandwich clueless about what was happening.

And that is how we ended up in the principal's office.

And that is why I never liked food fights.
