[1] Wait What?

A/N Edited

Hi, I'm Ariel. No scratch that I'm Elanor. Nope pardon me I'm Louise. Just kidding! I'm Alice...or wait, I think I'm Taylor or maybe Jessica.

You're probably wondering what my real name is. I, too am not so sure about my name since I was always undercover but let me introduce myself to you. Okay, folks, my real name is Jessica Parker. It's pretty hard to just live as Jessica Parker since I always had to be under a fake name or else someone could track me and my family. Anyways, I should really start with a brief timeline of my life to keep you guys on track.

When I was six years old, my mother thought it would be a great idea if I already knew how to defend myself (Yep, at six years old). Being the clueless, defenseless, and weak self that I was, my dad decided to teach me karate up until I was nine earning the brown belt title. I took a break from karate mainly because I wasn't really enjoying it then my mom comes in. She taught me taekwondo. I definitely enjoyed taekwondo more than I used to in karate. Up 'til now I still do taekwondo earning me a third dan black belt title. Now don't ask me how the bloody mud sauce I reach up until that rank but believe me when I say it was hard. At the age of fifteen, they thought it would be a good idea to introduce me to their world. By their agent world, I mean being involved in undercover missions.

Their agency is called the Secret International Agency (SIA). With that, by the age of fifteen, I was already being trained to defend myself in various situations, using guns, defusing bombs, unveiling deep secrets, undergoing investigation, and most importantly martial arts, at the same time balancing with my studies.

I've been to different missions several times and they either end up okay, or you're gonna need a hella backup. During those times, I always had the role of a secondary agent. Never have I taken the role of a primary agent yet considering that most of the cases that the agency caters are high profiles and that my parents weren't really that much to agree that I go primary considering my age and experience.

Buzz. Buzz.

Ugh. I groaned as I hear the Marimba ringtone. It was probably six o'clock in the morning. Oh great, school again. I don't have any pending missions right now so there's nothing really much entertaining or fun about my life at the moment. But if it means that I get out of this apple-hole of a school in this small countryside, then I hope I get a new one. Receiving new missions usually require the agents to move to another place or country, since our agency caters to clients worldwide.

Sighing as I'll have to see my bitchy history teacher later, I groggily walked my way towards the bathroom and took a cold shower, being hopeful this will wake up my spirits. I decided to wear an oversized white sweater, paired with jeans and my worn-out Chuck Taylor's. I grab my backpack and went downstairs to grab a quick breakfast on my way to school.

I hop into my black sedan and drive my way to school. Once I got there, all the decent parking spots were already filled and the available ones were on the far end. After parking, I walked toward the entrance with my backpack strapped on one shoulder.

"Ugh, she looks so annoying!"

"Talk about poor fashion sense, no wonder nobody likes to talk to her."

" What a loser!"

I rolled my eyes while walking down the hallway as I see people whispering to themselves. This has been a usual day for me. I've covered up my identity as Vanessa, so the criminals couldn't trace me or worst, find me. The day went on like this pretty much to my annoyance. I can't fight back thinking it would blow my cover so I remain silent instead.

The day passed by quickly and after school, I immediately went home.

I quickly ran up to my room and locked myself up. I glanced around, remembering this is temporary. There was never anything permanent in my world. Sighing, I was about to lay down on my bed not until I heard a voice downstairs.

"Honey! I'm home!", my mom yelled from downstairs. I could sense the excitement in her voice. What could possibly make her feel that way? Because of my ever dearly curiosity, I slid my way downs and saw her smiling like she lost her mind.

"What up? You sound happy," I asked with a hint of curiosity in my voice. My mom placed the grocery bags she brought home on the island counter, then perked up at the sound of my voice and she smiled at me. She would probably do that if we got a new mis-

"There's a new assignment for you, have you checked the app?" she asked, her eyebrows scrunching. I just shook my head. Oh right, the SIA newly introduced us to this new app that could be downloaded on our phones. The app was one of our communication lines with the main office where they usually notify us of missions, introduce us to co-agents, update us on the current status, and the like. I forgot to check my phone so I quickly fished it out of my pocket.

SIA App: You received a new mission.

"Well, they'll just tell you more of the details tomorrow," my mom said as she brought the vegetables and frozen chicken out of the fridge to cook us dinner.

We ate silently. The silence sounded deafening. Well, this was an awkward family dinner. I miss the old days when I get to bond with them. After I was introduced to their agency, we barely see and talk to each other at home since they were both busy.

"I haven't checked the app yet, any idea where the assignment will take us?" I asked, hoping that it would be Seoul, Canada, or Vegas. I have always wanted to visit those places.

"I'm not entirely sure, I just heard it from my co-agent earlier this morning. To California, I think," she replied happily. I groaned, of all places, why is it California? California was our hometown, I grew up there, and going back there meant that I would meet my best friend, or if I would still be considered as his best friend whom I left without reason when I was a kid. I grunted as numerous thoughts approached my mind.

"Why aren't you happy? You get to see your best friend, Tyler, again," my mom wiggles her eyebrows and nudges my elbow. I shrug my head. I'm not sure he's going to be happy when he sees me though. Who would be after being left in the dark for such a long time?

The next day came and by that time, I was done packing. There wasn't that much to bring anyway.

I took a long relaxing shower because I knew this going to be a long day. After I decided to wear a purple knitted sweater over my black tank top and baggy jeans, I glided my way downstairs.

As I make my way down, I hear unfamiliar voices in the living room. Once I glanced up, I was shocked, my eyes widened, by the people who were sitting on the couch. It was the department heads at the SIA. This should mean there is heavy news.

"Hi, Jess! It's been a while since the last time I saw you!" Mr. Tee exclaimed and gave me a bear hug. He was like a second father to me and he also used to supervise me when I was training in the main office.

"Hey, Mr. Tee! Yeah, I'm all good, what brings you here?" I break free from the hug and look up and asked with a worried smile while scratching my head.

"It's just that it's been a while since I personally come to agents and tell them their missions, and I also wanted to see you guys since I was nearby," he replied. I just shrugged. Okay then.

"Alright, I see that you haven't opened the message on the app yet, the tech team told me on my way here that it was left unread. So, your mission to look after the heir of the Fidelity Investments and Trading or FIAT," I simply looked at him. I thought I was going to defuse a bomb or something, I expected a big one. After seeing my deflated and disappointed look, he added, "It's the son of your mom's friend." Although I was disappointed, this was a new mission for me, I was usually given retrieval missions so this role is new exposure.

"In short, be a bodyguard?" I asked with a blank face. More like babysitting!

"I figured you needed experience to new cases. You are one of the only agents who has the same age as him," Mr. Tee explained as he pats my back. So the client was around my age, and I had to babysit a man

"Their company helps us at times when we are at a downfall. In fact, they comprise 14% of the shares in this agency," he continues. Wow. They must be stinkin' rich.

I just nodded. I didn't say anything because I still can't get over the fact that I had to be a bodyguard. That's new. Never in my life have I ever encountered a mission that requires being a bodyguard.

"Did I forget to mention? This will be your first mission as the primary agent," Mr. Tee smiled. A primary? I looked at him with wide eyes and a small smile made its way to my mouth. I get to be a primary agent! I wanted that role for months now. Mr. Tee held out his hand and I gladly shook it with excitement. Deal. Maybe being a bodyguard won't be that bad after all...

"We've received a tip from the tech team that the Dark Age Agency (DAA) is keeping tabs on him since they see him as a weakness to Peter Johnson, which is not good." Now this gets better. If our agency is about resolving conflict for our clients, the DAA is the other way around, known for making trouble and doing the dirty work for their corrupted clients. Let's say, for example, our agency retrieves kidnapped individuals and defuse bombs in deserted places, their roles would be to kidnap high-profile personalities and plant bombs to get big ransom money.

"Let's start with the makeover," Mr. Tee said breaking me from my trance.

"I'm not a barbie doll," I said chuckling while staring at them to see if they were joking but they all looked serious. I was used to doing makeovers, with the bunch of profiles I've been through, I know how to do it on my own. On orientation day, they usually show me what I should look like based on the given profile and I maintain the look once I carry out the mission. When I saw they weren't laughing, I asked "Seriously?" raising my eyebrow at him. I sighed as a sign that I had no choice. We stopped over an abandoned warehouse on the far side of the town which was a small set-up place for me to have a quick makeover. Two familiar faces flashed into my view as we stopped at an old abandoned warehouse.

"Hi, Jess! How are you?" the guy with blue hair fixed into a slick back said. His name is Mark and is the usual artist being assigned to my missions. Along with him was a pink-haired girl named Martha. She is a fashion queen and is usually assigned to give me OOTDs of the day.

"Hi! M&Ms! Nice to see you guys again!" I exclaimed. I called them M&Ms because they're like joined at the hip.

"Let's see your new profile," Martha said, grabbing the envelope which was laying on the table and brought out the contents. I saw her face lit up as she read the documents. I stayed seated in front of the big vanity mirror, waiting for them to do their thing.

I sighed. Boy, this was going to be a long one.

A/N

Hey guys! I rewrote this chapter. I hope you guys enjoyed it. I'm super excited to publish the newly written chapters of this book. I finally had the time to try and finish this book I'm very sorry to those who waited for such a loooong time. For those new readers, I actually started this book last 2015-2016 but got really busy with school that I never had the time to update this. I just finished my bachelor's degree and now had some time off before I enter the MD program at my school.

See the media above of how I envisioned Jessica Parker to be!

Questions for my readers!

1) What will be your fake name and profile?

2) What will your disguise be?

3) What would be your special skill?
