Chapter 4: I'm a What?!?

Lucy’s POV

Light. It surrounded me. It was so bright I was blinded. But, no matter how hard I tried to close my eyes. They stayed wide open.

I looked and saw two silhouettes in front of me, hands grasped together, while the other was in front of them. Slowly the light faded. The giant flower stayed there. Paralyzed.

The two people turned to me and I recognized them as the girls from the station, smiles plastered on their faces.

“Are you okay?” The blond asked.

“Yeah… Thanks.” Was my reply as I shifted uncomfortably.

“No problem!” said the raven haired girl

“I’m Lucy, by the way”

“We know!!” They chorused.

“I’m Lux!” said the blond.

“And I’m Nox!” said the raven haired one.

“And we’re here to take you home!” They chorused once again. Okay that’s kinda creepy. Wait… HOME?!?

“What do you mean by home?” I inquired cautiously.

They faced each other and grasped the others hand while holding the other out to me. “We will explain on the way. Come on!” said Lux as they both took a hold of my hands. Out of nowhere a portal appeared, and they stepped into it dragging me along.

Where we are now? No idea. “Um… Where are we?” I questioned the still smiling girls.

“The Dragon Realm!” They chorused again. WHERE?!?!?!? Wait what? This place exists.

I looked around to take in my surroundings. The air literally vibrated with magic power. There were floating islands everywhere. All of them with a different element.

“Oh. My. Mavis!” I exclaimed.

“That’s not all!” They chorused. Okay. That’s going to take some getting used to.

“CELESTIA!!!! WE FOUND HER!!!”

A giant dragon with rainbow scales came flying down, landing in front of us. “D-D-Dragon” I said stupidly while pointing. Wow Lucy, Good job at pointing out the obvious. Slowly the dragon shifted into a middle aged woman. She had hair so blond it was nearly white, and light blue eyes the same color as the cloudless sky.

“Whoa.” I muttered. Impressive.

“Hello my Queen, I am Celestia. The celestial dragon.” She paused to gesture around her with outstretched arms. “Welcome home.”

Wait wait wait wait. QUEEN?!?!?!? Okay. So either they are crazy or they have the wrong person. Probably the first one.

I must have looked confused because Celestia sighed and looked at the two girls. “Lux, Nox. Did you not explain anything?”

“Nope!” they chorused. Creepy, but not as creepy.

“Well alright then. Sweetie, you may want to sit down.” She took a large breathe and began.

“You already know about the dragons disappearing. But did you ever find it strange it was the same day your mother died? She was the Queen of dragons. When she died it weakened the dragon realm. So, we had all the dragons come back to avoid utter annihilation. Your mother was a great woman. The last time we saw her all she said was ‘If anything happens to me, then take my daughter when she is 17 and train her.’ It’s almost like she was psychic. She died later that month. So we have waited. We started looking for you on your seventeenth birthday. Now, we finally found you.”

Whoa. Okay. A lot to take in all at once. Ummm… I don’t know if she’s kidding but, something is telling me she’s not.

“I know it’s a lot all at once-“ Said Nox breaking the silence.

“-But we are here for you.” Lux continued for her sister.

“That is what families for.” They said together staring at me worriedly.

I felt myself go rigid at the word family.

“I wouldn’t know.” I said flatly. They looked at me and my vision blurred. I felt three sets of arms hug me and Celestia’s Motherly like voice say “It’s okay. We are here for you now.

After a few minutes of standing like that I slowly lifted my tear stained face and smiled sadly at them. I felt something soft on my cheeks and looked to see Lux and Nox attempting to wipe away my tears with tissues. I couldn’t help but laugh as they stood on their tip-toes to wipe my face.

“How old are you two?” I asked them

“9!” they said happily. OMG THEY’RE 9?!?!?!

“Come on” said Celestia as she became a dragon once again. “Hop on and hold on tight.” Then. We were off. I didn’t even take the time to notice that my glove was nowhere to be found.

A week later

At the guild

Levy’s POV

I wonder if Lu-chan’s okay. It’s been a week since she left and I’m starting to worry. Okay. I’ve been worrying for a while but today was the worst.

“Hey Juvia?”

“Yes Levy-san?”

“Do you think Lucy is alright?”

At that Juvia sat up straighter with a determined look in her eyes “Yes!” she said over dramatically. She obviously was trying to cheer me up, and it surprisingly worked.

All of a sudden the guild doors burst open and a short man with a suit on walked in.

“Where is your master?” he asked. A hint of sadness in his tone.

I pointed towards the stairs “Up there sir” I was worried. Why did he look so depressed?

Thank you young lady. He said a sad smile on his face. He turned and hurriedly made his way upstairs.

An hour later

Master came out of his office with the man. He looked grief stricken. Oh no. What did team Natsu break this time.

Oh yeah didn’t Lisanna leave team Natsu the day after Lucy went on that job. Huh, I nearly forgot.

“LISTEN UP YOU BRATS!!!” he yelled his voice hoarse like he had been crying. Okay. Whatever they broke must have been REALLY expensive.

“WE LOST A MEMBER!!” I couldn’t hold in my gasp. Wait. WHERE’S LUCY?!?! NO NO NO NO NO NO! It couldn’t be.

“WHO IS MISSING?!?” he screeched. I felt a hand on my shoulder to see a terrified Lisanna. She looked like she had seen a ghost. “Lucy” She whispered. “Do you know where she is?” she said a little more urgently. I shook my head feeling my knees go weak.

No, she wouldn’t leave her few friends behind right? She would have taken us with her.

“LUCY HEARTFILIA WAS KILLED ON HER LAST MISSION!” He said, letting a sob escape at the end. My knees buckled and I fell to the ground. My eyes were wide and unblinking, tears streamed out of them endlessly.

She couldn’t be dead. No. She couldn’t be. It’s impossible. I felt a pair of muscular arms wrap around me. I felt the coolness of metal piercings on my bear arms. It was Gajeel. I slowly leaned into his chest, unblinking.

I saw Juvia standing there. Petrified. Her hands covering her mouth in disbelief. I then saw Lisanna. She had fallen to the ground like me, her head resting in my lap.

I saw everyone. Everyone that hurt her. She never said a word. But, I saw the scars. I saw the missing tip of her left ear, the skin around it light blue from frostbite. They stood there. Looking as if they were sad. That they cared.

Did they not realize it was their fault? But what made me want to go berserk, was the sight of Natsu. He was sitting on the stool his eyes wide and empty. Like the light had disappeared.

No. He was not allowed to feel sorry. HE caused this. HE hurt her the most. She LOVED him. Now she’s dead because of him. He kicked her out of team Natsu. HE started the taunting and the injuring. HE was the first to ignore her.

Before I realized what happened, I looked at a shocked Natsu. I was now standing above him, his cheek had my red hand print on it. May as well go along with it now.

“You” I spat venomously at him “are not allowed to feel sorry.” Pure hatred burning in my eyes like a powerful fire. I spun on my heal and walked out.

I heard footsteps behind me and knew they belonged to Lisanna and Juvia. They didn’t try to stop me. They just followed.

Lucy was gone. She took our light with her. She was Fairy Tail’s light. Now. She’s gone.
