"Vi, have you ordered our car yet?"

"No, but I'm literally about to dial the number." I tell Sarah. Now that we've decided where we're going for break, everyone is anxious that we get our plans set in stone as early as possible. We only decided what we were doing two days ago and everyone has been hounding me to start making calls.

"Hi, my name is Viola Mathers." I say when the guy greets me on the phone. "I was wondering if I could rent a five passenger vehicle for the week of April 7-14?"

"Sure, let me get your license number." I pull my license from my wallet and read the number off. "Okay, you're not over 21, are you?" He asks.

"No, I'm not. Is that a problem?"

"Not particularly, but there will need to be at least one driver over the age of 21 in the vehicle. Do you have someone like that with you?"

"Sammi, how old is Luke?" I hiss at her when she walks in the room, covering the speaker with my hand. He's the only one whose age I don't know.

"I think he's 20. Why?"

"He's definitely not 21?"

"No, not for a couple weeks, but he won't be before break."

"Hi, uhm, no one is over 21. Are you sure there's no way for us to--"

"I'm very sorry Miss Mathers, but our policy states that there must be someone over 21 traveling with you."

"All right, thanks for your time."

"No problem, have a great day."

I hang up the phone and slump back onto the couch. This is awful. What am I going to tell everybody?

"That was a super fast call. Very efficient. What kind of car did you get us?" Sarah plops on the couch next to me, opening her water bottle. She gasps. "Does it have a sunroof? Heated seats? Is the upholstery leather?"

"I didn't get us a car."

"Why not?"

"Someone has to be over 21 and none of us are, so they won't give it to us."

"Bummer." Sarah says, shrugging. "I suppose we'll have to go with plan two. Flying."

"Yeah, I guess you're right." I pull out my laptop from my backpack and start comparing flights to get us the best rate. I find ones for 238 dollars, with one suitcase included.

I grab my phone from where I'd set it on the coffee table and make a group chat for our trip.

Vi: created a group.

Vi: renamed the group SPRING BREAKERS

Vi: Hi everyone! So I just called the rental company and they said someone has to be over 21, but since none of us are, we have to fly. I found tickets for 238 dollars, which brings our total back up to about 300. Is everyone okay with this still? On the bright side, we don't have to pay for gas, so now the only thing left to pay is food while we're there, and whatever museums and things we go to.

I now remember why I don't include Ashton in group chats anymore. He can't handle it.

At least everybody is okay with the changes to the plan.
