^how I picture Dwayne but with lighter hair^

"No, its alright ma'am. I'm happy to help." He flashed A smile as he tryed to help the elder woman.

"Its only two dollars. Please take it. Cough syrup is important if someone's sick so the money won't be waisted."

She smiled at his soothing and smiled warmly and defeat. "Thank you. My grandson will be grateful to have this as as quickly as I can get it."

He nodded in agreement. "Yeah. The sooner the better."

She gave him another grateful smile as she paid now having enough money before leaving the store. He set his Almond Joy on the counter pulling money out of his already opened wallet to pay.

For the past month this has been his routine.

Wake up for his daily workout, then before work he comes to the convenience store to get a single snack to get some sugar into him.

He hasn't been here very long, but the convenience store employees were starting to recognize him as a regular and sometimes start a chat with him.

Not today it seems as he stepped out feeling the nip of Falls chilly air and in a few more days winter will just make it colder.

He hopes it snows knowing that it probably won't happen but it's always nice to hope for it.

Checking his watch he saw it was 7:18 meaning he had 42 minutes to get to the station and not be late.

He could just walk, as a 25-minute walk for him and he like the quiet air of the early morning.

He mostly stuck to the sidewalk as he hummed a small wordless tune to himself. His handsome blue eyes looking around as he always seemed to have a strange feeling someone was watching him lately.

But even with his combat trained eyes he couldn't see anything or one watching him other then a man he made brief eye contact with who was out for a jog.

It was the city. People are everywhere so he saw no reason to care about this too much as his phone began to ring making him snicker at the ringtone.

"Were you born an assshole or did you work it in your whole-" he answers the call placing the phone by his ear.

"How may I help you Brad?"

"How many times will I tell you not to call me that you shit."

He chuckled at the joking harsh tone and Corrected himself. "What do I owe the pleasure Brandon?"

"Look next to you."

His eyes glance over into the strees where a simple cop Cruiser was pulling up next to him and shook his head chuckling as the window rolled down revealing a average looking man that was only a bit smaller then him.

"Hello handsome. How much you worth?"

He hung up flipping Brandon off giving a small smile.

"Fuck you." He chuckled out moving to get into the passenger side of the vehicle sliding and then glancing all the devices then looking over his friend who started to drive.

"Looking for trouble in the city?"

"Yeah. Its the easiest morning job you can relax while doing. You should try relaxing Dwayne, you might like it."

Dwayne rolled his eyes. "I AM relaxed. I like being active and not taking the easy way."

"Whatever Lieutenant."

"I don't think I can be still be called Lieutenant right now."

Brandon shook his head. "You may be on break from your original duties but its not your fault you were shot in the shoulder and forced to do easier jobs untill completely healed. Your still a Lieutenant."

The slightly larger man smiled at his friends words as the station came into view.

Dwayne has been working his way up since highchool to get where he wanted. And what he wanted was to be Chief.

Now at 28 he was a Lieutenant, almost a Captain as it was already discussed but he got shot in the shoulder during a rescue mission.

Him and his platoon were to safely retreave a child being held for randsom.

You don't see that much anymore but it still happens.

He had to take a mandatory time off and for now he was ordered to take it easy for two months before he can get back to the harder jobs.

He didn't like it but he knew it was for best seeing his shoulder was still in ways healing and needs to be tested on if he's still good to go.

When parked he slipped out of the cruiser knowing he was very early so desided to just hang around for half a hour.

Or better, the cafe across the street, he could hang out there and drink a coffee before work. It's relaxing enough and it will be nice to try new places.

"Thanks for the ride Brandon. But now I'm a bit too early."

"So? You can hang around or clock in early."

"Nah. I been meaning to check out that cafe across the street. Apparently its a nice place but I usually don't go to such places."

"Your just boring." Brandon chuckled out.

"Hmm. Get back to work Brandon." Dwayne said a bit fermly making Brandon sigh giving a smile.

"Yes sir."

Dwayne close the door watching the man drive off before moving to the crosswalk chuckling at the little to almost no traffic.

It really is peaceful at this time of day.

Once green he lightly jogged across and towards the Cosmo Cafe.

The building itself was a simple two-story with a upstairs patio that had a few tables set up on it. The place painted a beautiful bluish lightly black and misty gray trim while little dots and small stars were painted over and beautiful designs.

Opening the door a small bell was off the sound more musical than most store bells.

He smiled faintly as he did a quick look around the first floor of the cafe.

If you spread out tables with vases on each holding flowers and a different star constellations on each vase. The tablecloths themselves were buried between Grey's blacks blues and even some purples but on each and every one of them the top had a swirling Galaxy.

Seemed only two people were here so early.

One was an elderly man in what looked like pajamas and the other was a young boy in a hood who was staring at him in shock.

He chuckled and smiled at the boy. Teens often were surprised by cops because of some reason or another and because they're usually guilty conscience.

The boy then looked away going back to his cake.

Dwayne personally thought it was too early for cake and that kids would be kids.

He moved over to the counter looking at the menu above as the woman behind the counter smiled.

"Black coffee please. Oh, and a croissant sounds good too. Extra butter."

The woman nodded her head. "Will that be all Officer?"

"Yes it will, thank you."

"We will bring it to you as soon as its ready."

Dwayne moved away picking a two-person table in the corner not too far from the man in almost opposite in the boy.

Looking out the window it was relaxing to see the sun come up slowly that he almost didn't realize it when his drink was set down until a voice said they'll be right back with his croissant.

"Thanks."

He picked up the coffee taking a sip finding it tasted all right but you could tell they added a little bit of sweetener.

Thankfully he didn't mind as his eyes shifted to look back out the window.

Ω§Ω§Ω§θ§θ§θ§θ§θ§θ§θ§θ§Ω§Ω§

My heart almost stopped when he walked in.

He smiled at me.

He's never came in here before so it was a bit of a shock.

I only looked away for a few minutes when the waitress gave me my cake. Then I look up to see him a few feet from the front door.

I knew he was early for work because of his friend. He usualy walked or jogged to work.

But even then he's always early.

That's why I make sure I'm a hour earlier every day. Not to mention this was the best spot to watch him arive to work every day.

Other than Thursdays and Fridays that is, he has those days off.

I couldn't help but watch him intently making sure I wasn't being too obvious, of course. My hood covered most of me saying it was over sized so he didn't get much of a look at me.

As I took a bite of my cake I wondered how the man will taste if I licked him.

Sweet?

Bitter?

Salty?

Sour?

Spicy?

My mouth waters at the endless possibilities.

I wanted him more than anything.

My father did always say take what you want but be clever about it.

Can I take him?

How hard could it be?

But he was a highly trained man, a Lieutenant.

Ill have to be very clever.

Set a trap to take my man.

The woman came back to give him his croissant that he end up putting all the extra butter on after flashing a smile in thanks.

I swallowed as he took a bite and looked away.

I've been watching him for too long.

But he will be mine.

I want him to only be able to think of me. I'd like to consume his thoughts the way he does mine.

The real question is, how to capture that Lieutenant.
