Musical Lovebirds Challenge!
I love Broadway.
I love musicals.
I love songs.
I love romance.
Sorry is that too repetitive?
Anyways, my point is I love musicals.
So I came up with this challenge!
(If you don't normally listen to musicals I strongly recommend it, at least for this challenge).
Spoilers ahead for Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, and Miss Saigon.
——————————————-
1: Choose the genders.
The genders of your two characters doesn't matter. At all.
2: Find the musicals.
Take your musical playlist (or search up a Broadway playlist if you don't have one) and put it on shuffle. The first three musicals to come on will determine the traits of your lovebirds.
(Make sure it's three different musicals!)
Welp I just know it's not gonna go well for the characters.
3: Determine traits of first character
Take the first musical you got and shuffle it.
This song will determine the appearance of your oc.
The second song will determine what kind of mood the character will convey through the color palette.
FUDGE
Alright so since this song is sung near the end of the musical when everyone is dead (or mostly everyone-).
Marius, miraculously saved by Jean Valjean, sings about how his friends will never again speak of revolution and the pain that comes with surviving a deep tragedy.
So the color palette will consist of a lot of muted, darker tones.
Alright now the final song will determine their feelings in the relationship.
Well.
Actually it does meld well with their identity not gonna lie.
So with this song in mind, I think their relationship with her and their overall feelings about the relationship is a lot of questioning. I feel like they barely know who they are and I think that they're always trying to find someway to identify themselves.
Now that you're done with the first character, repeat the same process with the second musical for the second character.
Aw yeah! Lots of soft colors here I come!
Oooh another goodie!!!
I would say that she is the mature one of the relationship, and she wants her s/o to accept her and to accept them. So she would take him on nightly walks, and telling him how beautiful the night is.
Overall she's very much a night person.
3. The story
Now the final musical will determine their relationship and whatnot so it's not so much of a design anymore but instead a story building.
The first song that comes on from your last musical describes their chemistry, how they get along.
Oh wow.
So basically the pair are childhood sweethearts and they were forced to move away from each other and their parents, who didn't like the relationship, got her to believe that they had moved on and vice versa.
Oof.
The second song determines how the first person felt when they first met.
Holy crap. So this would take place after their reunion, with them begging her parents to see her.
The third song is the same as the second song.
Oh.
Oh man.
Well I knew the results would be sad because of the musicals but DANG.
So from this, I will determine that she is questioning why she still loves him. The pair was reunited the night before she would fly back home, and she's questioning why she's falling in love with them again-after all, they had told her of their engagement.
And unfortunately, she realizes that their parents are high up in society, so she doesn't know how to save them.
As for names, name them after a character from a musical not used to design them. (The third musical is fair game!)
Eponine- a character from Les Miserables
Chris- Miss Saigon

And that's it! Hope you enjoyed this new challenge and I can't wait to see what you make from it.
I really enjoyed making Eponine and Chris lfor you guys.
MorbidFangirl enjoy!
