"Wilbur? What are you doing?"

I froze, not knowing what to do. 

That deep voice sounded too familiar.

I turned around quickly in a panic, "T-Techno?" I manage to stutter. 

"Wilbur, it's midnight, where are you going?" He asked in a whisper. 

"..."

There was a few seconds of silence until realization finally dawned on him, "Wait, are you... leaving?"

I stayed silent, trying to avoid eye contact. 

Techno stood there frozen, "W-What about our people? Your coronation is tomorrow."

"You know why Techno." I finally met his eyes, "I never wanted to rule this kingdom."

It was now Techno's turn to stay silent. 

"I'm forced to do all these royal things that I wanted to do, all because he sees an opportunity in you. And what about me? He never cared about me, I want to pursue my dream of becoming a musician, if I can't do that here, I will have to go elsewhere." I finished. 

Techno stood in silence, before finally speaking up. "I understand, Wil." he says, "But promise me something."

I look up at him, signaling for him to continue. Techno looked up at me teary-eyed, "Promise me you'll come back here, I don't care how many years it will be, just promise me you'll come back."

I was quite shocked, I had never seen Techno cry before, but I nodded nonetheless. "I promise."

"But you have to promise me something too." I added, "Promise me you'll continue to play the violin."

"Of course, I never stopped." he smiled at me, it was infrequent to see him smile, and I'm glad I have the privilege to do so. 

"I have to go now," I said. "Alright." Techno blurts out, I could tell he wanted to but didn't dare to courage to do so. I stepped back and hugged him, he tensed in my arms but hugged back. "I'll miss you."

He became less tense and hugged me tighter, "I'll miss you too."

After a minute or so, I let go. I step back and nodded at him as a goodbye, he did the same, we both turned our backs and headed to where we both had to be. As I hear his door shut, I start to quicken my pace. 

After some time, I reached the door that leads to the garden, luckily the guards who are on duty must be on break. I slowly step outside and hid in the bushes, once making sure that no one was in sight, I slowly crept towards the Royal Stables where my horse Sapphire was. 

(A/N: I have no idea whatsoever about how to ride a horse but I tried my best with some research)

I gently opened the door and walked toward Sapphire's stall, I opened the door and smiled as she recognizes me. "Hey girl, let's get you out of here." I said petting her, I grab her lead and guide her out of the stables slowly and quietly. 

I quickly got her ready and climbed into the saddle, I steadied myself and held her reign tightly. I pull my hood on and smiled, "Easy there, now let's head out of here." I rode her down the path of the back exit, I slightly pull on her reign making her slow down and into a complete stop once we reached the back exit. 

Just as I suspected, there weren't any guards. The huge exit had a fingerprint scanner, so I placed my pointer finger in it, and the huge bars slowly and somewhat quietly lifted. All of my data immediately goes into the system, all of my DNA samples, fingerprints, blood type, everything was there. Which might become a safety issue but that's not my problem anymore. 

Once the bars were fully lifted, I climbed back onto the saddle and guided Sapphire out of the castle. The gates closed behind me and I for once felt the feeling of freedom. 

Sapphire galloped through the soft fields of grass, I smile as the cold wind hit my skin. Dream's house wasn't far from where I was now, so it wouldn't take long to get there. It took 5 minutes till I finally saw Dream's house, I could see a silhouette of someone sitting on the back patio of the house. 

Once I was closer, I realized that it was none other than George. I finally reached their backyard and slowed Sapphire down, George was already walking toward me by this point and offered to help me settle Sapphire in their stable. I denied his offer but he kept insisting so I agreed. 

We stood in the stable, just chatting as George settles Sapphire into her own stall. "Thanks for helping me, George." I say as George closes the door to her stall, "Anytime, that's what I'm here for." George smiles. 

"Hey, I was wondering actually, what are you doing out here? Shouldn't you be inside?" I ask, George looks down and mutters, "Just thinking about things."

I wanted to ask about it but I knew that I shouldn't pry. George let me in the house and I was met with peacefulness, Puffy was laying down on the couch drinking something and I assumed that Dream and Sapnap were already asleep judging by the quietness. 

"Mum, Wilbur's here." George says quietly, Puffy sits up and looks in my direction, she smiles as she sees me. "Wilbur! You're here! I've set everything up, you boys go at sunrise correct?" I nod and we talk for a little until Puffy shoos me to the guest room to sleep. 

I close the door to the guest bedroom and flop down on the bed.

I was finally free for once.
