Paces in circles, screams, etc

this idea has been plaguing me for. idk, weeks??

a character who is... completely incomprehensible, mostly. their motivations, how they feel about the people around them, their true thoughts on the situation- everything. not on purpose- they just don't show emotion in the same ways that everyone around them does. maybe they don't really feel any emotion, either, at least not in the same ways most people do. i'm not sure yet.

another part of this is their magic, because they are indeed a magical creature. nobody really knows what it is. it's forbidden, eldritch, lost knowledge; maybe it even goes directly against the laws of magic as it works in that world. however, the effects of it are clear. they seem to have an unnatural sense of the world around them. they usually use this to track their prey- through walls, across planets, and despite any other possible obstructions.

one thing that everyone does know about them... is that they love food. they're always hungry; in fact, they seem to be constantly starving. they will take any chance they get to eat, and the only payment they'll take is food. this is the one thing that they absolutely insist on- no money, no drugs, no weapons, no sense of pride or fear or friendship. the only way to guarantee their loyalty is with food.

maybe they're part of the military or the mafia or something, but either way, their superiors/bosses kind of treat them like... an animal? or maybe more like a weapon, since this person's main role would just be killing whoever they want killed. either way, everyone is very cautious and terrified of them.

i haven't decided what fandom this is for (if any) or what happens next. i do know, though, that the plot would be determined by how they feel about this- being treated like a weapon. if they don't care, then maybe they just end up outliving all of their compatriots. if they do care, though, they'll probably end up killing their boss and defecting from whatever group they were part of.
