About me - part two

I had zero friends, that was the case from the start. In kindergarten, I would sit alone at the climbing rack, never allowed to play tag or be paired up (basically running around like a clueless idiot, neighing like a brainless horse), always chosen last for gym class, and was only invited to two birthday parties, and even that was out of pity. The next three years went the same way: alone, abandoned, laughed at, and bullied.

When I was in sixth grade, I had the best teacher in the world, which made life a little bit easier. That moment when I was chosen as the second to last for a team was the highlight of my elementary school days. Because of that one teacher, I wasn't the poop kid in class anymore, I wasn't the scapegoat for a little while. Then she got pregnant and went on maternity leave. An substitute teacher came in, and believe me, she was a WITCH. She entered the class for the first time, looking at each one of us with a "loving" gaze, but when she looked at me, it suddenly turned into disdain and hatred. A look that said: nobody likes you... She was the nightmare of my life and still gives me chills when I think of her.

Seventh grade was a low point. A new girl, Chloë, came into the class, and I immediately felt a connection with her. She thought the same and we became friends. We made plans, went to the movies together, did homework together for school...

However, she turned out not to be such a good friend because I found out that she was plotting a mega prank with my archenemy. That moment, the biggest stab of sadness ever hit me: thinking that I had finally found a true friend, only to find out she was a filthy, treacherous, nasty bitch. I felt most betrayed when I discovered that two euros kept disappearing from my piggy bank, every day when Chloë came to play, two euros went missing. I found out when I noticed Chloë's pockets getting bigger and heavier. While she went to the bathroom, I had a look at what she had put in there, out of curiosity, but I never thought she actually... At first, I thought there were just rocks and seashells, like everyone in my class used to do... Until I pulled out one and two euro coins, handfuls of them. I quickly stuffed everything in the pockets of my sweater and pants. Later, I started counting everything, too afraid to say anything that she had taken almost all of my pocket money, and it was more than fifty euros in total! I had been saving for my whole life. But well... I thought I would be done with the crap when it was announced that Chloë was leaving school, but it turned out to be the opposite...

It was in the middle of eighth grade, I thought I had gone through the worst and could stay in the background without being noticed. Suddenly, I was called out of class, and the whole class jeered at me. I had to go to the principal, where I had never been before (I don't think I had even seen him), for a vague, important conversation. When I entered, I was shocked to find a police officer sitting next to the principal, and Chloë with her parents across from them. I stammered something like "What is this..." when the officer pointed to the chair at the head of the table. I sat down obediently, afraid of doing something wrong. The police told a completely nonsensical story. Chloë had claimed that I had sent her threatening letters, that I wanted money from her, and that I had stood in front of her house with a knife in my hand. It was the master prank they had been working on, to give me my karma for no reason. They had even gone through the trouble of writing fake threat letters to show her parents and take them to the police. And those letters were written in my handwriting, and then I knew why paper balls kept disappearing from my trash can...

There was an investigation and I almost ended up in court, but I'm still alive.

Meanwhile, life went on as usual, practicing for the musical, memorizing songs. Guess what, I had the smallest role and I had to say one line: "May I have another cup of coffee?"

We finally got through that crappy musical, it was finally vacation, and I finally had a new class. And it was a pretty nice class, at least not as bad as before. I even had friends; the teachers never liked me.

I started pre-university education, which didn't go as well as I had hoped, so I moved to a lower level of education and that worked out, until I realized what kind of hornet's nest I had entered. It was filled with heartless, brainless kids.

Now I'm in my final year, then I'll take my final exams, and then I'll be done. I'll work my ass off and move into my own place, somewhere in a lonely apartment, away from my parents, away from my brother, away from my old life. I'm going to start fresh, with new people, new friends.

Hopefully, my pathetic life will become a bit happier then.
