Third Person's POV

"Here is your Winner, CROW HOGAN!" Samantha Irvin announces.

Crow successfully defeated Gong after being distracted in for during the beginning of the duel, but Eli assures that three certain children are safe with him.

Eli smiles at the scene where Gong and Crow were shaking hands "not bad Crow, you still got it" he says as the three kids cheer for the common.

"Yeah, way to go Crow!" they say

Eli kneels to the children "hey, guys why don't we get down there and see Him?" he suggested.

"We can?" Amanda questions

the blue hair male nods "yeah we can" he tells them which the three of them cheer happily as Eli smile "Follow me" he says as he walks off with the three kids follow him.

Samantha Irvin places her mic close to her "The next contest is the second match of the first round of the Friendship cup, introducing first From the Commons, SHINJI WEBER!" she announces as Shinji drives driving his duel runner "And his opponent, from parts unknown, CARMELO KASTLE!" she adds as Melo drives out driving his duel Runner.

"This common is gonna show you that the only thing you pick is a fight" Shinji says as Melo rolls his eyes not noticing a certain black and purple hair Xyzian passed out from blood lost.

"Will you quit whining around, sure what you went through is unfair and unjust, I wouldn't imagine what is like nobody can travel back to the past, the only thing we can do is the now, now quit bitching in the past and rev up to the future!" Melo state shocking everyone present.

"How are you so calm about this!? You would know anything since your home was destroyed!" Shinji yelled at Melo out of frustration and widen his eyes realizing what he had done.

Melo glares darkly at the common "oh, you just made a big mistake there, buddy" he says.

"Y'all ready to duel fire up the action field crossover acceleration!" Michael explains before snapping his finger and the action field activates.

"Are your marks...Get set... Go!" Melissa states as Melo and Shinji drove off.

Melo drives pass Shinji and steers for some reason and boost his speed "it seems like Carmelo Kastle will be taking the first turn, let's what tricks he has up his sleeves?" Melissa comments.

Melo picks up a card "If you wanted the crowd to hate you, well congratulations... you did just that, and for that I'll be summoning Ribombee in attack mode.

Ribombee: Atk/1800

"Then I play the spell Pixie Hollow when I have a Fairy-type Monster on my field I can summon a monster Equal to it's level and I know the perfect monster for that occasion, I summon Clefairy from my deck!"

Clefairy: Atk/1000

"Next I activate Clefairy's special ability! by discarding one card I can give both Clefairy and Jigglypuff an extra level making them now level four monsters!" Melo explains.

Ribombee: Level: 3 → 4

"Watch as I overlay my, two level four Ribombee and Clefairy in order to build the overlay network!"

his two monsters turned into yellow spheres of yellow light flying into the sky as on the ground opened a purple and yellow blackhole which the two monsters flew into creating a pillar of light.

"Gal of elegant embrace, embrace us with your presence for the rising army that you'll lead, I Xyz summon! Bow down to Rank four, Gardevoir!"

Gardevoir: Atk/2100

-meanwhile at the mansion living room-

Shay watches the duel with a smirk as Yuto was wiping his nose cleaning up from the nosebleed.

"Melo summoned Gardevoir" Shay says.

Celina looks over at Shay "is it good?" she asks.

"Extremely good watch it yourself" Shay explains.

-at the duel-

"now I activate Gardevoir's ability when she's summoned to the field, you take nine hundred points of Damage" Melo explains.

Gardevoir's eyes light up and fire a blue shock wave hitting Shinji in the process.

Shinji: 4000 - 3100

"Next I place a card face down and end my turn!" Melo finish.

"I've been a underdog since I was born, but bugs know how to bite! is my move, I draw!" Shinji states as he draws a card from his deck "I summon Battlewasp Arbalest the Rapidfire!" 

Battlewasp - Arbalest the Rapidfire: Atk/1800

"Next I activate the spell Toxic when there's a monster on the field with higher attack points than my wasp that monster loses a thousand attack points, Gardevoir seem not so elegant" Shinji explains.

Gardevoir: 2100 → 1100

"Arbalest Attack Gardevoir!" He commands as hi monster fires a sting at Gardevoir

"I activate Gardevoir's special ability! when she's targeted for a attack by using one overlay unit, she doesn't get destroy and I take half the damage" Melo explains.

Melo: 4000 - 3650

"I'm ending my turn!" Shinji says.

"And since your turn is over Gardevoir's attack points returns to normal"

Gardevoir: 1100 → 2100

"It's my move I draw!" he draws a card and sees a spell card "I hope you and your bee loves trees activate the continuous spell three of life! Tree of life activates there are two or more monster on my graveyard I can summon a minimum one monster from the graveyard as a level four monster, I'm bringing back to the field Ribombee!"

Ribombee: Level/ 3 → 4

"Next I summon Little Fairy in attack mode" Melo explains a Little Fairy appears next to him. 

Little Fairy: Atk/800

"now I activate Little Fairy's special ability, like Clefairy her level increases by one by sending once card from my hand to the graveyard" Melo explains.

Little Fairy: Level/ 3 → 4

"Now watch as I overlay my two new level four Ribombee and Little Fairy!" Melo explains.

And once again his two monsters turned into yellow spheres of yellow light flying into the sky as on the ground opened a purple and yellow blackhole which the two monsters flew into creating a pillar of light.

"I Xyz Summon! Helps us out Rank Four Fairy Cheer Girl!" Melo states as Fairy Cheer girl appears to the field.

Fairy Cheer Girl: Atk/1900

"Now I activate her special ability with by using one overlay Unit I can draw a card from my deck" Melo explains before going for a draw.

-meanwhile-

"I just hope he get that Barian Force Card" Sylvio comment surprising Shay and Yuto.

"wait did you said Barian!?" Yuto question with disbelief.

Celina looks at the Xyzian "We saw him turning into his Barian form you were there when we see him that he was dueling Sora" the girl explains.

Shay remembers "yeah you did saw that" he says.

"See what again?" Dennis question.

-at the duel-

Melo draws a card and looks at it and nods.

"I'm going all Out, Gardevoir attack that bee with Moon Blast!"

Gardevoir fires a pink blob at Battlewasp destroying it

Shinji: 3100 - 2800

"When you destroy my Arbalest in battle, I can summon another one from my deck" Shinji explains.

Battlewasp - Arbalest the Rapidfire: Atk/1800

"Alright then Fairy Cheer Girl attack!" Melo shouted "Pomplosion!" Fairy cheer girl throws her pompoms and then explode like bombs.

Shinji: 2800 - 2700

"Before you ask, "Melo why you attack again when you know that I could summon another one?" that's simple Shinji is so I could activate the ability of my Hatterene from my hand by sending it to the graveyard I can draw two more cards!" Melo explains as he draws two card from his deck and another Arbalest appear to the field.

Battlewasp - Arbalest the Rapidfire: Atk/1800

he sees the two card and those are two cards that he didn't think he would see them at the same time, Rank up Magic Barian Force and Mirror force Melo nods to himself "these cards are what I need but I'll set one of them face down and end my turn!" Melo explains finishing his turn.

Shinji draws a card "I summon the Tuner Monster, Battlewasp - Sting the Poison!" Shinji explains.

Battlewasp - Sting the Poison: Atk/400

Level two Battlewasp - Sting the Poison tunes with my level four, Arbalest the Rapidfire!" Shinji explains as the mentioned monster turns int two green rings.

Arbalest the Rapidfire flies through the rings before turning into four stars lining up before being struck forward by a light pillar.

"I synchro Summon! Battlewasp - Halberd the Charge!" Shinji says as his synchro monster appears to the field.

-meanwhile-

David hugs Declan "You made the right decision on putting Melo to Duel instead of Riley" he tells Declan who nodded, and they let go of each other and went on holding each other by the hand.

Riley walks up to David and tugs his shirt "Divi...does Declan won't need me anymore?" Riley questions clearly on the edge of crying which David lets go of his boyfriend and kneels to the little girl.

"Riley... don't think of such things, Declan loves you, Riley and he and I rather be dead than ever turning our back on you and make you feel lonely all over again, okay?" David assures the girl.

Riley looks up at David and nods and hugs his torso and David pick her up, "Divi..." Riley says gaining the blonde's attention once again "I found theses in a garden with flowers, and I found this remembering of you" Riley pulls out a cute yellow flower making the blonde tear up a bit.

"Is beautiful Riley, I'll cherish it" David tells her making Riley giving David a small smile and hugs him.

-at the duel-

"Halberd Attack! Sting Fairy Cheer girl!" Shinjin

"I see..." Melo looks at Shinji "I understand the pain that you'd suffered Shinji, a great Duelist must conquer the balance of their emotions regardless of what they say about you, I learned that from my brother before he was no longer in the world of living" Shinji got caught off guard "I admire your courage that no matter what others said to you, you still have the heart for you to stand up for yourself, and for that I respect the hell out of you, and you must not let your anger and frustration get the better of you, that's my advice from a duelist to another, but in regard of your attack I'm stopping it by activating Hatterene's second ability from the graveyard! By banishing it from play I can negate your attack so Fairy Cheer girl isn't going anywhere"

Melo explains as Fairy Cheer girl gets surrounded by a pink barrier protecting her from being destroyed.

Shinji set a card as the two hears the common chanted unite and fight Melo smirked "Okay, now I'm fighting a army I draw!" Melo says before drawing a card from his deck "Since I'm battling a literal army, I'll bring out my monsters from my graveyards thanks to tree of life.

Clefairy: Atk/1000 Level/3 → 4

Little Fairy: Atk/1000 Level/3 → 4

"Now I'm going to set the Pendulum scale with Scale 0 Diancie and Scale 13 Impidimp!" Melo explains.

Melo places two Pendulum cards on the outermost spots of his duel disk. The word "Pendulum" began to appear with a rainbow gradient effect. From either side of Melo, a column of blue light shot into the sky. Both of Melo's monsters floated into the air with Diancie on the left and Impidimp on the right. The numbers zero and thirteen appeared below their corresponding monster as a blue portal above him.

Diancie: Scale/0

"I Pendulum Summon! come forth, Altaria!"

Altaria: Atk 2000

"Now Altaria's special ability activate by drawing two cards from the deck and add them to my hand Altaria can't attack the turn that she's special summon to the field" Melo explains "And now I'm overlaying Clefairy and Altaria!"

And once again his two monsters turned into yellow spheres of yellow light flying into the sky as on the ground opened a purple and yellow blackhole which the two monsters flew into creating a pillar of light.

"I Xyz summon! Mega Altaria!"

Mega Altaria: 2400

"Now I activate the spell Card Rank up Magic Barian Force!" Melo says as Celina, Sylvio, Yuya, Carl, Shay, and Yuto smile proudly since they know what's about to happen "Now I'm raising Fairy Cheer Girl's rank and become one stronger Fairy!"

And Fairy Cheer monsters turned into red spheres of light flying into the sky as on the ground opened a purple and yellow blackhole which the two monsters flew into creating a pillar of light.

"Go Cxyz Evolution!" Melo shouts.

"Cxyz?" Shinji looks at Melo Confusingly.

"Barian power, born of Chaos, listen to your judgement of this world of filth come forth, Rank 5 CXyz Dark Fairy Cheer Girl!" Melo yelled as Dark Fairy Cheer Girls appears flying next to Melo.

CXyz Dark Fairy Cheer Girl: Atk/2500

"Dark Fairy, attack Halberd the Charge with Fairy's fury!" Melo yells.

"If you attack both Monsters are going to be destroy" Shinji says.

"I if don't Activate Mega Altaria's ability they would, by using one Overlay unit for each Xyz Monster on the field they all gain five hundred attack points, meaning all three of My Xyz monster are getting fifteen hundred attack points" Melo says.

CXyz Dark Fairy Cheer Girl: Atk/2500 → 4000

Gardevoir: Atk/2100 → 3600

Mega Altaria: Atk/2400 → 3900

"Now Fairy's Fury!" Melo yells as Dark Fairy Cheer Girl creates a gush of glittery wind at Shinji's monster causing it to be destroyed,

Shinji: 2700 - 1500

"This is bad" Shinji says to himself

"I say this to every opponent I cross paths with, that Fairies can be graceful, but they also possess some dangerous hidden fangs" Melo says "Altaria time to send him packing, Draco Meteor!" Melo yells as Mega Altaria fires a orange blast to the sky before becoming a meteor shower and hit Shinji.

Shinji: 1500 - 0

"HERE IS YOUR WINNER, CARMELO KASTLE!" Samantha announces as the crowd cheer.

Melo check on Shinji "Hey you're okay?" Melo asks.

Shinji nod "I am now...and I'm sorry, what I said was out of line and I let my anger get the better of me" he apologizes.

Melo shakes his head "you said it yourself; I don't hold a grudge against you, but one thing for sure is that I will fight for you guys" he says before looking a the commons in the crowd "you all deserve better, me and my friend will win this tournament even if it means making one of us be the one to face Jack, you have my word for it" he says before reaching out a hand which Shinji nods and shakes his hand "you know where to go, right?"

Shinji laughs "yeah I do, I just hope Crow doesn't think I'll be stealing his boy" he says.

Shinji is a tall fair-skinned young man, with double colored purple hair that has strands of blue in the base of his hair and green eyes. Like Crow, Shinji also wears piercings. He wears a colored biker suit with strands of blue on his tights and chest with a yellow pattern across his mid chest. The suit seems to be held together by a belt. His half-open suit reveals a gray shirt worn underneath. He also wears brown boots and gloves.

"I wish you the best during the rest of this tournament" Shinji says which Melo nods.

"Thanks" he says before the two parted ways.

-time skip-

After Melo's match it Yuzu and Celina won their matches as for now Donner shyly walks up to Sylvio's room with a plate of food.

"I don't get it, I'm a headliner, a box office draw, I'm Sylvio, so why wasn't I picked a duel on the first day of the tournament?" Sylvio questions but sighs and sits on the bed "but I guess life itself has other plans for me" he says before hearing the door knocking and opens the door and sees Donner shyly walking in "O-Oh is you, you're that shy boy who's related to Weiss" Sylvio state.

Donner nods "Y-Yeah... uhm... you weren't with the others, so I thought I brought you food, is not first class but is made with love" he explains.

Sylvio's eyes widen a bit and that his heart skipped a beat 'Woah... am I getting flattered by this guy?' he questions himself "I'm flattered, but you didn't have to" Sylvio then says to the blonde.

"Y-Yeah, Carl and the others had said the same thing, but I-I want to, you were just misguided, but I believe you'll get your time to shine, by tomorrow that I can assure you" Donner says while putting Sylvio's plate on the table near the big TV "Well I'm sure that whoever your opponent is... you'll steal the show from them" he says before leaving "u-uh...yeah goodnight!" he then says before running out the room.

Sylvio looked at the door completely awestruck and looks at the plate and walks up to it and takes a bite of the meat and eats it 'It's really good, if only if he made it- WHAT AM I THINKING!?' Sylvio questions in his thought but realizes something "I didn't even catch his name" he then says before groaning in disappointment "there goes my chance of getting to know him" he added.

-Meanwhile-

Declan, Riley and David are having a small chat with Kyoya, Tamaki, the High Council and Jack Atlas himself.

"So, Jack, you're saying of all the Duelist that appeared during the first day, Yuzu Boyle was the best?" Kyoya questions

"that's not what I'm saying at all. I'm saying she had grit, and that's what matters the most, not only her the boy you choose to duel in Riley's place, and... Carl Carmine... his name sounded oddly familiar he reminded me of a old friend who sadly still to this day is no longer with us unjustifiably" Jack says.

"Grit? how could that make one a better duelist?" the elder female question the tall blonde.

"Grit means that even if you're not the best, you can be the best, is not a trait you can learn" Jack says before been interrupted by a younger voice.

"Is something that you find, if you're lucky" the voice says they all look over and see Eli and his little brother Zane walking in.

"Hope we're not interrupting anything important" Eli says as he and Zane walk up to join them on the table which the two boy thanked them.

Zane sits next to David as Eli walks up to Jack and the two give each other a peck on the lips before Eli go to sit on the table sitting next to Zane and the maid place two plates of food in front of them; Eli then sees David helping Riley cleaning her face which made him giggle siently.

"You didn't missed much Darling"

"Jack, I love you too, but don't be flirty in front of a child and the Council that are literally in front of us" Eli reminded Jack which Zane sweat drops.

"Then what you're saying is that it all comes down to luck?" one of the elder men questions.

"Carl beaten me by luck, and he had grit as well along with that Melo guys, I can tell that Suoh's kid also has that Grit" Jack says taking a sip of his cup.

"Riven?" Tamaki question.

"Well in my experience Luck is only good if it doesn't run out" another older man.

"Luck doesn't run out it happens" Eli corrects the man.

"It's a shame that duel runner don't have training wheels, I would have enjoyed watching the pipsqueak participate" Jack says looking at Riley.

"I was thinking the same thing but then Dove reminded me that Riley's still a kid and she's still doesn't have the age to drive a duel runner" Declan explains as David nods.

Jack then looks at David and then back at Declan "fair enough" he mutters.

Zane decides to change the subject "well...who would you guys want to see in the final round, now we have Crow, Melo, Yuzu, and Celina passing to their second round, both Melo and Celina were already becoming fan favorites due to the fact that they performed Xyz and Fusion summon method which is they're method that you don't see often" Zane says.

"We can't be sure yet, Zane, besides day one's already over, so we have to wait and see, is everyone's game for those that will compete the next day" 

"Riley also has the gift, the gift of grit" Jack says as Riley looks at Jack surprised.

"What are you talking about, Jack? how can you tell" David questions.

"Jack can see it deep in Riley's eyes, and I get what he sees, after all she has the same look, Jack once had" Eli explains.

Jack nods "you see I wasn't always a master of faster, it was a time when I was cold and lonely, I was about the age Riley is now" Jack explains.

"So it's true; I have heard stories you were a common, but I never knew for sure" Declan says.

"Well now you do, Declan" Jack respond "and being born in the slums, gave me the opportunity to find something precious, the Grit I mentioned before. That what gave me the strength to fight my way out of that place, and I see the same grit in little Riley's eyes; tell me, Declan did Riley grow up in condition similar to mine?" Jack then asks.

Delcan sigh "that's why you're the master, absolutely nothing escapes your perceptive gaze" he says.

"What motivated you to take the necessary steps to rise up from the commons, I'm sure Riley is eager to know.

Eli looks at Jack who looked back at him before taking one more sip of his cup "It is a tale about how chance fate changed my life forever, my desire to rise up came from a single card, you could say the winds of fate, brought it to me, might have been a random act of kindness, but whatever it was what matter is this card entered my life and could immediately sense that It was special, but for where it came from high in the sky above the commons; there was no question in my mind, the card came from the tops, get someone accidentally drop it or simply throw it away? I didn't know, But I knew it was meant to play a role in my life, so I study the card with great care, however, it was quite ordinary, not exceptionally powerful, or especially rare, that's what it struck me like a lightning bolt more supercharged than any duel runner, I felt this card wasn't necessarily for me to use, but for me to return back to the sky to the tops it was like a ticket to a better life, but I would have to do my part in order to redeem it, so I slowly began to hatch a plan on how I would do exactly that, I would become the best duelist to ever battle, strongest all the land, and so I did, but I'm not the only one who's not from around here, I've been told you three are from a whole other world and on your own quest, If so allow me to give you one piece of advice: be gritty!" Jack says as Riley flinches.

Eli places a hand on Riley's shoulder "what jack's trying to say is that regardless of what you feel you must duel for what you feel is right and that will be so powerful that not even Yusei himself can be able to beat you"

"Yusei?" Declan and David question

"Oh, Yusei the other common who beaten Jack in the Fortune cup about a year ago and save everyone from the world destruction" the high council leader says.

"I hope you're right, because the forces we're going up against are powerful, indeed, and we'll need all the help we can get" Declan says before he and Jack look at Riley only for their eyes to be poke by Zane before he removes Declan's glasses.

"Ow what the hell Zane!?" Jack questioned.

"Don't put more pressure on him" Zane replies.

"Is a she" David correct the platinum blonde boy.

"Don't put more pressure on her" Zane then say before turning to Riley with a apologetic smile which Riley give him a small smile and shook her head reassuring Zane that she's not offended by this which relieves the slight older boy.

-with Yuya and Carl-

"Looks like we'll be dueling tomorrow" Carl says with Yuya snuggling on top of the taller male.

"yeah...I'm worry that you'll be my opponent" Yuya says with worry looking up at his boyfriend "as much as I love you, I don't want to hurt you" he confesses.

Carl smiles and cups the shorter boy's face "Yuya, I appreciate the concern that you have for me, but I should be the one saying those things to you" he says.

"I'm gonna be fine, because I know you can make it to the next round" Yuya says.

"Well good thing that we don't have to worry about where the losers are going to be at, we'll be staying here as much as we need, Riven and his dad and uncle assured that, according to Blaze" Carl replies.

Yuya kisses Carl "I love you" he says before burying his face in Carl's man breast.

Carl patted Yuya's head "I love you, too Yuya" he says before turning off the light and the two boys fall asleep.

Carl opens his eyes again and looks at Yuya 'Yuya...you will be facing Jack, I know you will, because you'll swing and high five the sky as a wise kid once said, and I'll help you reminding everyone that Dueling's about having fun sure dueling can be competitive but is a fun game at the end of the day' he thought before closing his eyes again.

-time skip-

Day two of the friendship cup tournament starts as the group minus Riley, Declan and David are watching the TV.

"Are you Ready for say two?" Melissa asks the crowd who cheer "I am also ready, are you ready for day two Michael?" she asks her co-host.

"You better know that I am ready for Day two because today we're going to see who are joining, Crow, Carmelo, Yuzu, and Celina on this very same day and to kicking off we're going to have Officer 227 of the Duel Chaser Division versus the Dueltainer extraordinaire, Yuya Sakaki!" Michael explains the audience.

"Alright so Hold on to your hats because this is sure going to be a good one" Melissa says.

"Kicking it away miss Irvin!" Michael then announces.

"The following contest is the fifth match of the first round of the Friendship cup Tournament! Introducing first from parts unknown YUYA SASAKI!" Samantha Irvin announces as Yuya drives out to the arena.

Carl's watching Yuya driving his runner at the house "Give them a good Show Yuya" Carl says.

"And his opponent from the New Domino Police apartment, DUEL CHASER 227!" Samantha then announces as the police officer then drives out also greeted with cheers.

Both Yuya and 227 are currently at the starting line

"Yeeha! We're about to put the pedal to the metal! now gentlemen start your engines as I activate the Crossover Acceleration action field spell!" Melissa explains before Put on his goggles "are your marks, get set, go!"

Both Yuya and 227 drove off
