I yawned and stretched for a bit.

Man last night's dream was weird.....

I looked around my room and gasped.

"What?!?!" I saw it was a small room with a bed, a PC, and some gaming system I didn't recognize in front of a TV.

But what really got me was the Pidgey flying outside my window.

Holy shit! Yes! I'm in pokemon!

I walked out the room and down the stairs to find my Mom and sisters eating breakfast.

Mom gasped "Will! Hurry and eat! You have to be early to get the pokemon you want from Professor Oak!"

I nodded slowly and scarfed down some bacon and eggs and ran out the door.

I ran up to the Lab and was about to walk in when I noticed two things.

One, I was ten again, skinny, and wore blue jeans, a blue shirt, and had a black backpack.

Two, I saw Gary and his cheer squad.

I ran in and said "hi Professor!"

Damn I'm in the anime.... oh well... I guess I could team up with Ash...

He could use the help...

He turned to me and beamed "Hello Will! You have two choices Squirtle or Charmander who..."

"Squirtle!" I called out.

He jumped at my outburst, but handed me his pokeball.

I was about to leave when Gary came in.

"Hey Gramps! Who's this chump?"

"His name's Will, he recently moved to Pallet town. His father was a pokemon champion in a far off region." Professor Oak explained.

"Used to?" he asked.

"He died...." I told him.

"Downer..."

I punched him in the face giving him a bloody nose.

I walked out without saying another word.

I saw Ash himself running up to the Lab in his pajamas.

Gary came out with tissues in his nose.

All of his fans gasped at the sight of him in pain.

One of the cheerleaders cried "What happened to our Gary?!!"

He laughed "No worries my fans I'm fine! Oh hey you must be Ash right? Better late than never I guess... at least you get to meet me!

I already have a huge head start ahead of you!

I already have a pokemon and you don't!"

Ash stuttered "you've got your first pokemon?"

"That's right loser! And it's right inside this..."

I smacked him in the back of the head and yelled "Stop gloating like your all that amazing! Have some empathy ya jerk!"

"Who do you think you are smacking Gary like that?!" a cheerleader asked.

"I'm Will. I don't care who he is he has no right to treat anyone like dirt! We all start off small." I punched the air.

"Whatever... smell ya later!" Gary yelled before being driven off in a red sports car.

Professor Oak walked up and said "So you did decide to show up..."

"Professor Oak where's my pokemon?" He grinned.

"Your pokemon?"

"Yes I'm ready!"

"Looks like your ready for bed... I hope you aren't thinking about training in your pajamas."

"Oh no professor I got messed up this morning and I was a little late, but believe me I'm ready for a pokemon!" He beamed.

I followed him to the pokemon lab and he opened up the case of pokeballs.

Ash said "I thought about it a lot, and I choose Squirtle!"

Only to open an empty pokeball.

"Sorry I picked that one..." I sweat dropped.

"Aww... I wish I hadn't overslept... oh well now I choose Bulbasaur!"

He opened up another empty pokeball.

Oak said "that one was also taken by someone who wasn't late..."

"Oh well that's no problem because my pokemon will be Charmander!"

And he opened the last empty pokeball.

He groaned and Oak said "the early bird gets the worm, or in this case the pokemon."

"Does that mean all the pokemon are gone?" Ash asked.

"Well there is still one..."

"I'll take it!" Ash interrupted.

"I should warn you there is a problem. With this last one..."

"I don't care I need a pokemon!"

"In that case..."

He handed Ash a pokeball with a lightning bolt on it and it opened up to reveal a Pikachu.

"It's name is Pikachu!"

"It's so cute! It's the best of all!"

"You'll see..."

I backed away just as Ash got the shock of his life.

I couldn't help but laugh a little.

"Shocking isn't it?" Oak said.

"Take these your pokedex and pokeballs."

As soon as Ash touched them Pikachu shocked both of them.

After I stopped laughing and walked out I saw Ash getting embarrassed by his mom.

My mom was right next to them and called me over.

"Will! Mrs. Ketchum and I have been talking and we think it would be a good idea if you and Ash traveled together!"

I shrugged "sure..."

Ash whined "Why? I'm a trainer now I can take care of myself!"

My mom scolded "you two are rookies! You both can work together!"

Mrs. Ketchum saw pikachu and said "is that your pokemon?"

Ash nodded "yes that's pikachu! And with his help I'll capture all the pokemon in the world!"

"I thought pokemon stayed inside their pokeballs. Why doesn't this one?" she asked.

"That's right... Pikachu, get in the ball now."

Pikachu smacked the ball away.

Ash tried again.

It failed.

Tried it again.

Fail.

Again.

Fail.

Mrs. Ketchum said "oh how cute your playing ball! You're friends already!"

"Sure... me and pikachu are real pals!"

Mrs. Ketchum mumbled "its a little weird..."

I jumped back as pikachu shocked everyone.

"Those rubber gloves should come in handy, rubber doesn't conduct electricity." Professor Oak explained.

Mrs. Ketchum mumbled "don't forget to wear clean underwear every day..."

While Ash got changed and wrangled pikachu I waited at the town entrance and I tossed out Squirtle's pokeball.

"All right!" It said as it came out.

"Whoa! I understand you?" I jumped.

"You understand me?" The female Squirtle freaked out.

I could tell she was a she because of her voice.

"So do you speak English or can I understand pokemon?" I asked.

"I've never spoken English in my life!" She gasped.

"Cool...."

"Hmph your taking this lightly..."

"Your taking this heavily... so do you have a name?" I asked.

She shook her head.

"In that case your name is now Lilly" I said.

She blinked "not bad..."

"Well I wanted to meet you and I wanted you to meet Ash and pikachu before we left on our Journey." I explained.

"Okay. Can I stay out?" She asked.

I laughed "no problem! Climb on up!"

I crouched down for her to climb on my shoulder.

She hesitated, but got on.

"Can you do me a favor?" I asked.

"What?" She asked confused.

"Don't go telling evey pokemon about how I can understand them... I don't want requests..."

She nodded.

A few minutes later....

Ash caught up to us wearing his signature blue vest, hat, pale blue jeans, and wearing the pink rubber gloves.

He was dragging pikachu with a leash.

"Are you gonna be like this the whole way pikachu?" Ash groaned.

Pikachu turned and said "yep"

"Is it because you don't like me?"

Pikachu nodded.

"Well I like you a lot! Since your the pokemon I'm training don't you think you could be a little nicer and just open your mouth to tell me what's wrong?" He pleaded.

Pikachu opened his mouth wide.

I giggled "what a punk!"

Pikachu snapped "like you'd be any better!"

Ash ignored both of us and asked "is all you can say your name?"

Pikachu nodded.

"Then your like all other pokemon. So get in the pokeball like all other pokemon as it says in the pokedex." Ash said as he pulled out his pokedex.

I butted in "not all pokemon like pokeballs Ash. From what I can tell pikachu is one of those special cases. Same as Lilly here."

He turned to me "really? And who's Lilly?"

I sighed "yes, and I named my Squirtle Lilly."

Pikachu squeaked "your not as dumb as you look..."

I ignored him as Ash took off his restraint and gloves and asked "is that better?"

Pikachu stuck out his tongue and said "nope!"

Ash heard a rustling and we all turned to see a Pidgey walking near us.

Ash pointed his pokedex at it and it said "Pidgey a flying type pokemon. It is the most peaceful of flying types and is a good test for beginning trainers to capture."

"This is our lucky day! Pikachu go get it!" Ash commanded.

Pikachu turned away.

"Are you ever gonna listen?"

"Nope!"

"Why not?"

Pikachu just ran away and climbed up a tree.

"I think I've got this one Ash... what do you say Lilly?" I sated.

"No problem!" She cheered.

I checked the pokedex for Lilly's moves.

Tackle and tail whip huh? I expected as much...

"Tail whip!"

She slapped the Pidgey with her tail surprising it.

"Use tackle!"

She smashed herself into the Pidgey greatly damaging it.

It hopped up to Lilly and used wing attack giving Lilly a scrape.

"Finish it with another tackle!"

Lilly ran up and smashed right into his face and knocked him out.

I took off my backpack and looked through it.

I had a couple potions, berries, and pokeballs of all kinds.

I grabbed the potion and cleaned up Lilly with it.

I crouched next to the fainted Pidgey and fed it Oran berries.

"What are you doing?" Ash asked.

"It'd be mean to leave it here injured like this..." I told him.

The Pidgey came too and grimed "man I'm captured...."

"No my trainer just healed you get out of here!" Lilly yelled.

The Pidgey flew off scared.

"Wow you're good Will...." Ash mumbled.

"I know a lot about pokemon. Anyone can. You try." I told him.

He nodded "but how am I supposed to catch a pokemon without pikachu?"

I shrugged "improvise"

He saw a rock and flung it into a crowd of Pidgey... only to hit a Spearow.

Which started attacking Pikachu.

After dodging a few good attacks Pikachu zapped the Spearow.

It fell to the ground and yelled "everyone this jerk zapped me! Help me take him out!"

Suddenly a massive flock of Spearow flew up from the grass.

Ash asked "Should we run?"

I gulped "big time..." Before running away.

We were chased to a cliff.

I shrugged "I hope you three like swimming!" Before jumping into the water below.

I heard Ash grab pikachu and land in the water next to me.

We quickly got carried away by the heavy current.

Ash saw a bobber and grabbed it while Lilly helped me get out of the water.

"Aww it was just a couple kids... Oh and their pokemon! Are you okay?"  the red headed trainer who pulled up Ash asked.

"I'm fine..."

"I was talking about your pokemon! Is it breathing?"

"I think so..."

"Well get it to the pokemon center right away! There's one not to far from here in the next city."

"Which way?" I asked putting Lilly back on my shoulder.

"That way!" She pointed north.

We all heard the flapping of countless wings.

"We gotta run!" Ash yelled as he stole the girls bike and pedaled off.

"Hey what's going on?!" the girl asked angrily.

"We need to hide that sound is a bunch of angry Spearow!" I explained as I pulled her into the bushes to hide. "Well meet Ash at the pokemon center!"

She calmed down and shut up as all the angry birds flew by.

As they left I sighed "today has been one weird day..."

"So let's go...."

Suddenly a massive bolt of lightning tore across the sky.

As we ran towards the aftermath I asked "what's your name?"

Misty...

"Misty..."

"I'm Will and this is Lilly. That was Ash." I explained.

When we got there all that was left of her bike was a charred crisp piece of metal.

She picked it up and growled "he owes me a new bike..."

"Sorry, you saw that flock of pokemon... he panicked. If it makes you feel any better I'll carry the wreckage for you..."

She grunted "you better..."

Misty carried Lilly as I lugged around the bike. As we walked she said "I see you chose Squirtle as your starter..."

I smiled "I love water types they're one of my favorites!"

"Mine too!" She smiled.

We were about to catch up to Ash, when he rocketed away on a motorbike with officer Jenny.

I sighed "looks like we have more walking to do.... do you know the way to the center?" I asked.

She growled "follow me!"

We walked to the pokemon center a few minutes later.

Misty yelled out "there you are! You see what happened to my bike!"

He blinked "why is your bike so messed up?" He asked.

I answered "it must have been when that crazy bolt of lightning went off..."

Ash gulped "that was Pikachu..."

"Then its your responsibility to get me a new bike! And I want it now!"

"But pikachu isn't doing so good right now..." He trailed off.

Misty calmed down and looked genuinely sad.

Nurse Joy came out of the emergency room with Pikachu and a couple of Chancey.

"Ash...." Pikachu called out.

Ash ran up go them "is he okay?"

Nurse Joy nodded "he'll be fine with some rest."

Three, two, one...

"Attention all citizens! An unidentified aircraft has been seen everyone is advised to be on guard."

And then the roof exploded.

I heard the team rocket motto.

"Lilly! Tackle that Ekans! Misty take care of that Koffing! Nurse Joy transfer the pokeballs somewhere safe!"

"Right!"

Lilly tackled Jessie's Ekans hard, but it didn't go down easy.

Jessie appeared and said "how dare you interrupt our motto! Ekans use wrap!"

"Dodge and tackle again!"
Lilly sidestepped no problem and tackled him again.

Ekans started panting heavily.

"Finish this!"

"Not so fast Koffing use smoke screen!"

"We can't do anything in this smoke... I hope the others are okay..." I thought out loud.

I heard someone shout "alll together! Thunderbolt!"

And then I blacked out.
