We finished up our day's training session and camped out just outside of Vermilion.

Scorch and Richard were exhausted, but Missy and Lilly were used to my intense training.

Scorch sighed "what did I get myself into training with you Will?"

I smiled and said "Sorry, I had a good training session like that in a while."

Lilly agreed "I was starting to feel rusty!"

"Well it's good you shook that off now, I wouldn't want to have you get even more rusted considering it's an electric type gym." I told her.

She groaned "I haven't had any gym action since Cerulean city..... It wasn't even that good considering the biggest threat was a Goldeen...."

"Sorry......"

Richard perked up "Gym fights are fun?"

Missy nodded "Defiantly. It gives you a challenge involving all of your skills. It's nerve racking, but oh so rewarding."

I nodded and said "And you're gonna be the first Pokémon I use, Richard."

He freaked out "What!? Why me!?"

I chuckled "You kept up with all of us and it's your first battle. I think it'd be a good experience."

"But....."

I got up and gave him a tight hug.

"Trust me. I know you'll do great!" I told him as I stroked his back.

He hiccupped and wrapped around me.

I chuckled "Let's get some sleep you guys, tomorrow is a big day."

After he uncoiled around me we all slept in a big warm pile under a clear night's sky.

We all woke up mid afternoon and went to get a good breakfast at the local diner. Everyone ate heartily and was psyched to go. We made our way there and managed to miss Ash and the crew completely.

Just before we entered the building I heard a large ship blow it's foghorn.

Bon voyage guys.

I entered and called out "Lt. Surge! I'm here to take you down!"

I heard a deep laugh before the lieutenant himself stepped up and said "So this is the next Baby to challenge me huh? Oh and look at that! He has a Wartortle with him. So what kind of chance do you have against me?"

I smiled "I'm no idiot. I have plenty of Pokémon to take you down with."

He chuckled "fine ya snot nosed baby, I'm gonna show you the power of Electric type Pokémon! This will be a three on three battle. You can substitute at any time, but once I choose a Pokémon it's stayin' out until it faints. Understand?"

I nodded.

"Good! Go Electabuzz!"

"Go Richard!"

He was about to laugh at Richard's name before he saw how big he was. His mouth dropped right open and he shook his head before saying "that's quite a rare catch you have there. Plus he's massive!"

"Thanks. Let's go! Twister!" I called out.

Richards eyes glowed before the entire field was enveloped in the strong winds of Richard's attack.

I called out "Position alpha! Like we practiced!"

"Hurry and paralyze it!" Surge yelled out.

Nice try.

The wind died down and the Electabuzz was wrapped securely by Richard. Next to them was a large shed skin.

"Now! Use thunder wave!" I called out.

"No!!!!"

Richard let off a small burst of electricity, making the electric type feel the sting of paralysis.

"Now! Untangle and use dragon rage!"

"Electabuzz! Dodge it!"

Unfortunately, Electabuzz couldn't move before the blue fire of dragon rage engulfed him.

When the dust cleared Electabuzz was knocked out.

He returned his Pokémon and started laughing hysterically.

"You're a riot! Not only does your Pokémon have size and strength, you even taught him a special maneuver using military call signs. Have to tell ya kid, that's impressive battling!"

"Oh so I'm promoted to kid now?" I asked with a smirk.

He chuckled "Let's see if you can continue with your good strategies. Go Electrode!"

I smiled and said "Return Richard! Go Scorch!"

He chuckled when he saw my charmander staring down his big bad electrode.

"I hope for your sake this baby Pokémon is stronger than he looks."

I nodded and shouted "Ember!"

Scorch whipped his tail flame sending embers directly at his Electrode. Unfortunately surge said "Rollout!"

Not only did the embers bounce right off of the Electrode's body, but he quickly rammed into Scorch before I could even say dodge.

"Scorch! Hang in there! Defense strategy Beta!"

He nodded and used metal claw just as the electrode came in for a second run. The Pokémon spun in place for several seconds before coming to a stop.

"Explode!"

"Get out of there!!!"

Unfortunately it all happened to fast for Scorch to react as the Pokémon detonated.

Both Pokémon were obstructed by smoke. Slowly the smoke cleared revealing one knocked out electrode and a barely standing Scorch.

Surge said "What!? How!?!"

Scorch chuckled and held up his left arm, showing off the focus sash I gave him.

"But..... how!?!?!" He said.

"I did my research." I told him.

He growled "Go Raichu!"

"Return! Go Missy!"

Surge and his Raichu gulped as they saw the big bad Nidoqueen standing there.

"Um..... I know what your thinking....." Surge started.

"Magnitude!"

Missy stomped on the ground creating a huge crack in the floor where his Raichu fell and was instantly knocked out.

Missy let out a happy roar before stomping over to my and giving me a bone crushing hug.

"I guess old habits die hard..... return!" I squeaked out as she squeezed me.

I heard Surge start laughing deeply before he said "You're one heck of a trainer! You defiantly ain't no baby! You've earned the thunder badge!" He held it out to me. I grabbed it and pinned it to the inside of my hoodie with the others.

"Also since you took me out so easily, I'm gonna give you this TM. It contains thunderbolt." He said.

"Thanks. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go get my friends healed up." I told him.

He nodded and I left there.

It helps in knowing what the gym leaders have. A counter strategy is always nice.

I walked to the center and saw a ton of people standing around waiting patiently with baited breath to see if their Pokémon would be okay.

I walked up casually and the nurse said "I know your busy, but could you heal my Pokémon?"

She sighed "not another loss to Surge......"

I opened my hoodie and said "I won, I just need some mild healing for my team."

She froze "the first time!?"

I nodded "it was easy. There are only so many electric type Pokémon available in Kanto, so I made some counter strategies for them."

She smiled "that's quite amazing young man! Your the second trainer to beat Surge this week!"

"Let me guess, an energetic kid with a pikachu?" I told her.

She freaked out "are you psychic or something?!"

I chuckled "yes, but I can't read minds. I just know him."

"Well, I'm sorry, we're very busy. If you're Pokémon aren't injured you'll have to wait for more serious cases." She said.

I nodded and left before releasing Scorch and Richard.

"Alright guys, the Pokémon center is a little overcrowded with injured Pokémon so I'll have to heal you up myself." I told them.

They both looked at me funny before Lilly explained "trust me! He's an expert! He's healed me and countless other Pokémon hundreds of times."

I took off my backpack and found got out a couple potions and some leppa berries. I applied the potion and fed them the berries before letting Missy out too.

I looked at all of my Pokémon and said "We've done a lot lately. In the next couple of days we're all gonna train as we travel to Porta vista city. For that reason I say I get you guys a special treat today to celebrate!"

They all cheered before Lilly asked "So what are we doing?"

"We're going out for some ice cream!" I told them.

They all looked at me before asking "What's ice cream?"

I sweat dropped "Oh right...... none of you have had it before..... well, trust me it's great stuff!" I pumped my fist into the air for emphasis.

We all traveled to the nearest ice cream place and I got all of them a Pokémon safe ice cream.

They all stared at it before they saw me licking it. Lilly was the first to try it and immediately gasped "It's awesome!!!!"

She started licking it as fast as she could.

Unfortunately, Missy and Richard decided to eat the whole thing in one bite and got horrible brain freeze.

Even worse Scorch's melted all over him, so that was a good thirty minutes wasted calming my two biggest Pokémon while having to clean Scorch of the sticky residue while Lilly ate my ice cream.

I sighed "that didn't go as expected......"

Missy said "well, it was pretty tasty all things considered....."

Richard simply nodded.

Scorch said "I just wish mine didn't melt like that...."

Lilly piped up and preached "What are you guy's talking about?! That was amazing!!!"

"Well what did we do wrong?" Richard asked.

I said "you ate it too fast and got brain freeze. Ice cream is a treat you eat slowly."

"Than what did I do wrong?" Scorch asked.

"You waited too long to start eating it. It just melted in the hot sun is all." I assured him before turning to Lilly and saying "Lilly, next time don't eat mine okay? I wanted some too....."

She giggled and said "It was melting! It was my duty to save it from the injustice of it melting away!"

I rolled my eyes and said "Alright guys! Time to start the trek to porta vista city!"

Richard asked "Aren't we supposed to find the others here?"

"Trust me, they won't be here. Trust me that they'll be there." I told Richard.

He nodded.

"Alright then! Let's start moving!" I called out as we all started jogging there. (Or slithering at moderate speed in Richard's case....)

Time skip!

After a couple days of training we took the ferry to Portal Vista and went to the swimsuit competition. I saw the others and called out "We'll meet back up in Vermilion huh?" I asked all three of them with a stare.

They all froze before turning to me.

Ash stuttered "Oh! Will..... um we can explain....."

"You guys went on the St. Anne, it was a trap made by team rocket, the ship sank, you washed up on a strange island, you broke a bunch of giant robot Pokémon, and you came ashore here, forgetting about me after all the excitement. Now for whatever reason my girlfriend is entering a swimsuit competition." I listed off.

They all asked "How did you....."

"It was all over the news and Ash is a trouble magnet." I said plainly. I asked with slight annoyance "So why is Misty in the competition?"

Ash and Brock both started freaking out before Misty said "We owe an old man named Moe for crashing his boat. He needs the prize money to keep his boat from being taken as payment....."

I smiled "OK then. As long as it wasn't for naughty reasons."

The others deadpanned as Misty hugged me tight.

I heard my mom squeal happily "Awwww! My little boy has a girlfriend! They're so cute together!"

Before I could say anything she started squeezing me and Misty tightly.

"Hi mom..... what are you doing here?" I asked. I noticed Mrs. Ketchum and Professor Oak behind her and said "Oh! Hi to you too Mrs. Ketchum and Professor Oak!" I said.

Ash sputtered "Mom?!"

Mrs. Ketchum said "Hello boys! What a pleasant surprise to see you here!"

While Ash and Misty talked to Mrs. Ketchum and my mom respectively, Professor Oak pulled me aside and said "Now that I have you with me my boy I have quite a few questions about your understanding of pokespeak....."

I heard my mom call out "What did you just say?"

I felt a disturbance in the force as she walked over.

"You can understand pokespeak son?" She stared down at me with a cold expression.

Knowing she'd catch on if I lied I said "Yeah...... I also have a few other powers I've managed to figure out too......"

She glared "such as....?"

I gulped "Telekinesis, destroying things with my mind, paralyzing things with psychic energy, psychic shields, and breathing underwater......"

My mom stared at me with a look of suspicion before smiling and saying "I'm so proud! You really do take after your father!"

She then hugged me tightly while I sat there in pure confusion.

She said "I had a feeling going on a journey would get your powers to come in. Your father always knew you and the girls would have them....... I'm so proud......"

Something in my head clicked and I asked "You knew?! And the girls have it too?! Where even are they?! Are they home alone?! I have soo many questions......."

Mom chuckled and nodded "I'm sorry I didn't tell you before.... you know I hate secrets, but your father wanted to keep a lot a secret..... And don't worry about the girls, a good friend of mine is babysitting. As for their powers...... they haven't shown any signs of them showing up yet...... I know that they will have them like you some day my cute little boy....." she finished pinching my cheek.

Professor Oak rubbed his forehead and said "I knew John was a powerful psychic, but...... wow......"

Mom smiled "Trust me when I say most people didn't even know the half of his abilities. I know that Will most likely has all of them. In fact, I think I'll call up Sabrina and see if she'll help him."

I shivered "Mom I don't think....."

She shut me down with a death glare.

I sighed and said "Can I at least hear more about Dad?"

Mom tapped her chin and smiled before saying "A certain Babysitter would call that spoilers. And we can't have that yet can we?"

I froze at her choice of words.

Mew is babysitting the girls?! I hope she doesn't do anything too nuts......

Mom grabbed me and said "Wave goodbye to your friends honey! We're heading strait for Saffron city!"

"Wait what?! But I thought....."

"Now honey, I know how dangerous psychic powers can be. You need to go to a place where you can learn to control them. The best place for that is Saffron city gym." She explained hastily.

"But what about what a certain babysitter told me? She said to stay with Ash and company. Plus I already have control over my powers!" I told mom.

"Well, she can complain to me when I get back home. Plus I doubt you have control......"

I froze her in place and slipped from her grasp before releasing her from my influence.

"Mom, I love you, but I can't just abandon Ash, Misty, and Brock. I refuse to do so when I'm sure I can go there eventually. I'm in complete control." I told her seriously and respectfully.

I heard a giggle inside my head as my mom told me "I see, I'll respect your decision."

"Don't react, but I lied! I'm really Mew! You passed the test!"

I simply nodded and said "Alright. Anyway it was nice seeing you mom. I've got some...... stuff to do......"

I walked back to the others and said "Yeah, that was close, but you guys aren't shaking me any time soon."

Misty smiled while the other two sweat dropped.

"Anyway, let's earn the old man his money!" I said excitedly.

I froze up and whispered to myself "That sounded awful......."

We all then went to old man Moe's restaurant and worked as the crowd for the beauty contest gathered. When it finally started Brock had somehow became the announcer, and Ash, Ash's mom, Mew disguised as my mom, and I sat down.

Misty came out as the first contestant.

Brock announced "Our first contestant is the beautiful water type trainer Misty!"

Misty came out wearing her nice bikini. She walked forward saying "this is degrading and awful, but we really need the money...." under her breath.

"And now her Pokémon's costume."

Starmie and Ash's squirtle came out dressed as a flying saucer and an extra terrestrial respectively.

Lilly chirped "That's so cute!"

As they finished up their routine I teased "So you think Ash's Squirtle is cute huh?"

She freaked out and said "No way! He's way too young for me! I meant it as he looks cute like a little kid!"

I chuckled "I still ship you two in my head♪"

"Well your head's full of stupid!" She said sticking her tongue out at me.

I rolled my eyes and said "yeah you're so much more mature than him."

Suddenly I heard Gary announce "Hey! Ash! Will! I know you two losers are here in the crowd!"

Ash gasped "Gary's here?!"

"Anyway..... I don't plan on making you two jealous..... I'm just gonna let my beautiful fans make you jealous for me!" He started laughing at us.

I went up stage with a smirk and said "Who needs fan girls when I already have a beautiful girlfriend. Plus I doubt you could beat me or Ash in an actual Pokémon battle."

Ash came from behind me and said "He's right! I could beat you no problem!"

"Sorry Ash, I didn't bring my Pokémon with me.... I only came here to have my fan girls win the competition. Unlike someone's not quite as pretty girlfriend." He said the last part with a smirk towards me.

Before I could say anything someone yelled "Run!!!! A Gyrados!!!!"

We all looked over and sure enough there was a thing that looked like a Gyrados crashing the party.

Ash grabbed the mike and said "That isn't a real Gyrados! It's fake! Team Rocket is just trying to ruin the pageant!"

Shortly after a rocket was shot out of the boat's mouth.

"I got this...." I said as I used my power to sent it right back at team rocket.

They panicked and scrambled towards a fancy looking restaurant which blew up along with them.

"Well, that was effective....." Gary said slightly impressed.
