I suddenly woke up.

I heard a voice call out "Will are you OK? Anything broken?"

I shook myself "yeah I'm fine guys nothing broken..."

Explosions never killed anything in this show anyway...

I heard a gasp "did you just understand me?"

Oh shit that was Pikachu's voice.....

"Um Pikachu I can explain...."

And then Ash walked in.

"Will who were you talking to?" Ash asked.

"Um....... alright you got me... I can understand Pokespeak...." I told them.

They asked in unison "how? When?"

"I don't know and ever since I met my first pokemon." I told them.

Pikachu asked "so Lilly knows?"

I nodded "her and you two are the only people who know!"

"Only people who know what?" Misty called out as she walked in.

"Will can speak to pokemon!" Ash blurted.

"Ash I didn't tell you for a reason!" I scolded him.

Misty laughed "yeah right! If he can do that I'm a Magikarp!"

I hesitated a second before telling her "Send out a pokemon and ask me a question only it could answer."

"Will you don't have to do this..." Lilly started.

"Nah they would have figured out eventually... I just hoped it would last more than a day....

I always was bad with secrets......"

She sent out her Starmie and told it "tell Will why I left home!"

"Yes ma'am my master left Cerulian to make a name for herself amongst her sisters. They are the famous sensational sisters after all..." He ended.

I walked over to Misty and whispered his exact words.

She gulped.

"Well Magikarp its been fun, but I want to explore Viridian forest. I'll meet both of you at Pewter Gym in a couple days OK?" I explained.

Ash jumped up "Why?!"

I shrugged "sometimes you need to take your own path... we will meet back up in a few days."

I started walking out with Lilly when I heard her ask "so what's the plan?"

"We train hard and find a Nidoran willing to fight with us." I told her.

"What's a Nidoran?" She asked.

"It's a small poisonous rabbit looking creature. The males are purple and aggressive, while the females are blue and passive. It also mirrors how they handle battling." I explained.

"How do you know so much Will?"

I shrugged "I've studied pokemon all my life. It'd be weird if I didn't know something about all pokemon."

She nodded and we continued to the forest.

I hope I never have to tell you guys I'm from a different dimension....

Time skip!

We had spent the first few hours in the forest fighting random trainers and learned Bubble, rapid spin, and water gun.

I was walking around with Lilly when the Samurai popped out and stuck his sword in my face.

"Are you the third trainer from Pallet town?" He asked.

"Yes, you're challenging me I assume." I set Lilly down.

"Yes, go Metapod!" he called out.

"Water gun!"

"Harden!"

Fifty water guns later...

"Ugh its so annoying when people use Metapod...." I groaned.

"I'm not even tired... That just took a while...." Lilly groaned.

"Maybe my next pokemon is more your speed! Go Pincer!"

"Use vice grip!"

"Withdraw into your shell!"

The Pincer grabbed Lilly fiercely.

"Rapid spin!"

Lilly spun around so quickly the Pincer's horns broke.

"Pincer return!"

"That it?" I asked.

He nodded

I walked over and said "let me heal your pokemon..."

"Why?" He asked.

"I always help my opponents get up so one day they can be a better battle. Plus I can't stand leaving a pokemon in pain... It's just how I am." I smiled.

He nodded.

I healed his Pokémon and left him. Not five minutes after I was out of his sight I felt something attach to me.

I looked down and saw a female Nidoran hugging my leg.

I kneeled down and patted its head.

"Hi there little girl. You like me huh?"

Her eyes sparkled as she said "you defiantly good trainer! Me want go with you!"

I smiled "no problem! Welcome to the team!"

I pulled out a pokeball and it immediately clicked when she entered the pokeball.

I called her right out and asked two things.

"Do you have a name? And do you like being in a pokeball?" I asked.

"My name Missy and me fine with being in shiny ball!" She cheered.

I nodded and returned her.

"Why did she talk like that?" Lilly asked.

"All poison types talk like that until they evolve." I told her

"Weird..." she mumbled.

Time Skip!

I had made it out of the forest in one day... but we were all tired after training.

Missy knows poison sting, horn attack, double kick, and growl.

Both of them are ridiculously close to evolving.

Lilly more so than Missy, but still.

Either would beat Brock and evolve...

I kinda like Lilly on my shoulder... plus Missy needs battle experience.

"Let's go heal up at the pokemon center..."

We walked up and saw Gary inside the center with his crew.

He was bragging "heh I bet Will and Ash are still stuck in Viridian forest like a couple of chumps!"

I cracked my neck loudly "who you calling a chump?"

He jumped and looked at me.

"I'd love to challenge you, but I need to heal my pokemon before I do any more battling..." I told him.

He nodded and let me though.

I handed her my pokemon and Gary scoffed "you only have two pokemon?"

I shrugged "only two pokemon I've come across have interested me. I don't need to catch every pokemon I find."

"I don't get you at all...."

"You have your way and I have mine." I told him.

He crossed his arms and said "I guess I can respect that..."

No way! Gary Oak being respectful?

"Thanks..."

*ding ding ring a ding!*

"Here are your pokemon back you two!"

I grabbed Missy's pokeball as Lilly climbed back on my shoulder.

Gary had six pokeballs returned to him.

I yawned "I'm gonna go sleep see ya in the morning..."

I paid for a room and walked there.

I saw Gary and his posse take up the other rooms.

I was asleep before my head hit the pillow.

The next morning I was about to walk out the door when I heard Gary call out.

"You wanna battle now?" Gary asked.

"Nah I'm on a schedule and need to beat the gym before noon. Maybe next time?" I said.

He nodded and said "smell ya later!" and left with his posse.

The walk to the Gym was uneventful and I made it there no problem.

I opened the doors to the gym and walked into the dark room.

"Brock I Challenge you!" I called out.

A light turned on and he said "I see then. This will be a two on two match."

I nodded "go Missy!"

"Ready to go!" she cheered.

"Go Geodude!"

"Use double kick!"

Missy turned around and slammed Geodude into the wall KO-ing him instantly.

"Wow, you trained your pokemon hard and well to defeat Geodude so easily. Let's see if you can handle Onix!"

"Use bind!"

"No!"

Onix wrapped around Missy and started squeezing her.

She cried out in pain.

"No! Use poison sting!"

"I can't!" She squeaked.

Ugh! What can I do?

I let loose a loud growl in frustration.

And then Missy started glowing.

"She's evolving!" I gasped.

She got bigger and bulkier.

"All right! Break out of Onix's grip!"

She jumped right out of his grasp.

"Double kick!"

She smashed Onix in the face scoring a critical hit making the giant rock snake topple.

"Will! I did it!" Missy cheered and glomped me mercilessly.

"Can't breath...." I choked.

She got off me and rubbed the back of her head.

I returned her, got up, and walked over to Brock.

"One boulder badge please!" I held out my hand.

He chuckled and handed me the badge.

I jumped up and said "I got a boulder badge!"

As soon as I said those words Ash and Misty walked into the Gym.

I smiled "what's up guys?"

Ash and pikachu got mad and yelled "You beat the gym without us?!"

I nodded "yeah why do you think I gave you so much time to get here? I didn't want either of us to have hints on how to beat the gym leader..."

"What?" Ash asked.

"If you saw me fight you'd know how the gym trainer fights, giving you an unfair advantage or vice versa." I explained.

His face went ooooooh.

"How many pokemon do you have?"

"Just two." I told him.

"Ha! I have three!" He declared smugly.

"I'm not trying to catch them all. Just ones I like. I already know what pokemon I want to catch and I don't plan on catching any more or any less." I finished.

"I don't get you..." Misty spoke.

"That's what Gary said!" I called out.

"What? You saw Gary!!!???" Ash yelled.

All of us flinched.

I mumbled "yeah... when I got here last night we met in the pokemon center..."

"So did you win?" Ash asked.

"We didn't fight... we were too wiped out when we got there and I had to get my first badge before you..." I answered.

I walked over to Brock's pokemon and started healing them.

"What are you doing?" Brock asked.

"I can't stand leaving a pokemon in pain. I'm just healing their injuries for Ash's battle..." I explained as I sprayed up Onix and Geodude's injuries.

"What is with this kid...." Onix mumbled.

"I can understand pokemon... It just feels wrong being able to hear your screams..." I shivered.

"What?!?" Brock gasped.

"Will! I thought you wanted to keep that a secret!" Misty shouted.

"What's the point? I'm over it now..." I grumbled.

I whispered "and I hate keeping too many secrets..."

I turned to Brock's pokemon "you two better?"

They both nodded

They both still looked like they had a loss for words though.

I walked up to Ash and said "good luck" before I walked up to the viewing platform.

Brock snapped out of it and said "you two are friends huh? I wonder why that guy has such a weak looking rival. Your pikachu is in its cutest stage. It can't win."

Pikachu growled "shut up! Size isn't everything!"

"Go ahead pikachu! Show him you can do it!" Ash called him out.

Bad move....

"Onix use bind!"

Onix quickly grabbed ahold of pikachu and started squeezing.

"Owwww! Make it stop!"

"No pikachu!!!" Ash yelled.

Brock yelled "Give up before I hurt Pikachu!"

Ash grimaced and said "I forfeit..."

Onix let go of Pikachu and Ash picked him up.

"You okay buddy?" he asked.

"I'm not fine! I want to beat this overgrown pile of boulders!" He yelled.

Ash did his best guess and replied "we need to train more before we do that buddy..."

Pikachu nodded and climbed onto his shoulders.

I walked over to him and placed my hand on his free shoulder.

We all walked out of the gym with Ash slumped over.

"Don't worry, you just need to find a way to beat Brock." I told him.

He perked up "you're right! But how do we do that?"

"Maybe I can help." Flint said from behind us.

"It's the rock salesman!" Ash and pikachu blurted out.

I sighed "you guys are so in sync its not even funny..."

"We said the same thing?" they said at the same time.

"That's what he said..." Lilly sighed.

"You did it again..." I mumbled.

Ash yelled "You did it too!"

I scolded him "no we didn't. She said That's what he said and I said you did it again. Don't try to guess..." I scolded.

He rubbed the back of his head "worth a shot...."

Flint spoke up "you can understand Pokespeak?"

I nodded "it just sounds like plain old English to me..."

"Huh... cool..." He chuckled.

"You said you'd help me train Pikachu." Ash said plainly.

"Oh right follow me." He waved us over.

He led us to a water mill.

"You can super charge your pikachu using power from the mill!" He explained.

"Awesome!" Ash cheered.

"But the mill is dry." I pointed out.

Ash anime fell.

"Yeah one of you can run on the mill while I hook up Pikachu." He explained.

I turned to Ash and said "lets play a game of rock, paper, scissors to decide who runs!"

He nodded.

"Rock, paper, scissors, Shoot!" We chanted.

He did rock, I did paper.

"Ha I win!

"Oh well pikachu is my pokemon anyway...." Ash grumbled.

I went inside with Flint and helped pikachu get hooked up.

"Okay Ash start running!" I yelled out to him.

I heard the whir of the electricity as it flowed into Pikachu's electrical sacs.

A minute later pikachu squeaked "I can't take any more!

"I know you can Pikachu!" I assured him.

The generator's progress bar completely filled up and Pikachu started glowing intensely.

I closed my eyes and heard pikachu howl.

"I think he's charged up...." I sweat dropped and saw the blown generator.

We walked right back to the gym and I waited outside.

A few minutes later Ash walked outside.

Three, two, one....

"Ash wait!" Brock ran out with a badge in his hand.

"Here take this badge."

"But I didn't win..." Ash protested.

"You would have if you got that last attack out. Plus you were the bigger person for not attacking Onix in front of my siblings.

To be honest I prefer raising pokemon to making them fight.

My dream is to be the world's best pokemon breeder.

Take this badge and live my dream for me!"

Flint appeared out of nowhere again and said "that won't be a problem."

Everyone looked at him and he took off his hat and beard revealing himself to be and older looking clone of Brock.

"Dad?" Brock gasped.

"Son I was so ashamed when I failed my dream so I hid in shame. So you go and follow your dream. I'll run the Gym and take care of your brothers and sisters."

"Dad I have a few things to say before I leave..."

"I've been gone for three years, I understand if you have some things to get off your chest."

Brock pulled out some sewing needles and a list and said "I hope you can sew, if not you better learn fast..."

And he went on to tell all of the quirks of all of the kids.

While I was laughing Brock joined our group and we started walking off to our next destination.

"Hey Ash, what's with that girl following us?" Brock asked out loud.

We turned around and saw Misty in the distance.

She ran up to us and yelled "you still owe me a new bike Ash Ketchum!"

"For some reason that reminds me, you want to battle Ash?" I asked.

He looked at me wide eyed "really?"

I nodded "I want to see what you've caught."

Even though I already know....

He nodded "Go Pidgeotto!"

"Go Missy!"

"I'm ready to fight!"

"Oooh pretty birdy!"

I guess she's still simple...

All the pokemon sweat dropped.

"What kind of pokemon is that?" Ash asked as he scanned Missy with his pokedex.

"Nidorina a poison type pokemon. It evolves from Nidoran female. Nidorina are highly defensive and passive, but can be dangerous when provoked."

"Huh... so this is one of those pokemon you wanted?" Ash mumbled.

"Actually I wanted a Nidoking or Nidoqueen, but Missy will be a Nidoqueen when she gets a moon stone." I explained.

"Okay! Pigeotto! Use wing attack!"

"Roll out of the way and use poison sting!"

Pidgeotto dived at Missy with glowing wings.

Missy dodged last second and fired countless poison needles at him.

They hit him directly and he groaned in pain.

Looks like he's poisoned.

Every so often he'd grimace as he flew around.

Poor guy....

"Use gust!"

"Grab ahold of something quick!"

As Pidgeotto whipped up a small tornado Missy shoved her arms deep into the ground.

"Aim a poison sting attack to the right of his gust!"

"Wha?"

Missy obeyed and her shots curled around the wind storm and hit pidgeotto dead on.

Pidgeotto fell down to earth in a heap.

"Yay I won!" Missy tackled me down and glomped me in her excitement.

"Return..." I called out.

I got up and picked up Lilly.

"You ready to fight?" I asked.

She nodded and jumped off my back like a springboard.

"Ready for this?" Ash asked pikachu.

Pikachu fist pumped the air and said "Hatched ready!"

We stared each other down waiting for the first move to be called.

"Thundershock pikachu!"

"Rapid spin!"

Pikachu let out a massive bolt of electricity and sent it right at Lilly just as she managed to get in her shell and start spinning.

Just like I had hoped the damage was lessened dramatically when she spun.

I could still hear Lilly grunt in pain.

"Alright hit pikachu while you still have a charge!"

Lilly rammed into pikachu hard while giving him a taste of his own medicine.

Pikachu got back up easily though.

Lilly stopped spinning and got out of her shell only to freeze up and start sparking.

"No! Paralyzed!"

"Pikachu use quick attack!"

"Withdraw into your shell!"

Unfortunately it was too late and pikachu sent Lilly flying back.

Damn!

"Lilly you okay?" I called out.

She shakily got back up and said "I'm not done yet!!"

And she started glowing.

She didn't get any bigger, however her tail became longer, thicker, and white. She also grew two tufts on top of her head and her colors in general got darker.

I smirked "that was nice timing... although it's weird you stayed the same size...."

"I don't care let's do this!" she yelled excitedly.

That's weird she was so calm and serious as a Squirtle...

I shook my head and said "Skull bash!"

"Quick attack!"

Our pokemon clashed and both fell backwards from the impact.

Both were out cold.

I gave both of them an Oran berry for now and continued our battle.

"Alright Missy I need you again!" I called her out.

"Go Butterfree!"

"Use stun spore!"

"Blow the spores away!"

As Butterfree flew across the field spreading spores Missy blew them away like a birthday candle.

"Tackle!"

I waited for Butterfree to get nice and close before shouting "takedown!"

Butterfree was down for the count.

Brock called it "Butterfree is unable to battle! The winner is Will!"
