Apparently the bicycles only cut down on travel time.

It still took two days and I got up to 89 wins before we hit the fog of the school.

Damn the anime cuts out some serious traveling and random battles...

The game cuts even more out!!

Of course during that time I tried my best to learn how I did that shield.

I've managed to get a flicker every once and a while, but nothing like what they saw apparently.

Back to the present, we found ourselves in a dense fog. I sniffed the air and sighed "this fog is artificial..."

Brock looked at me weird "how can you tell?"

"Smell the air." I told him.

All of them sniffed for a few seconds before saying "I don't smell anything."

Misty wrinkled her nose "he's right..."

Ash gasped "how do you know?!"

Me and Misty replied at the same time "it lacks the scent of gentle freshness that you get from after it rains or off the morning dew... A light but beautiful scent....."

We both blushed when we realized what we just said at the same time.

Brock playfully nudged me in the arm.

Me and Misty grabbed an ear each and pulled yelling "don't get any ideas!"

And we both sweat dropped and dropped Brock.

He got up from the dirt and pulled a full sized end table out of nowhere.

"I think we should stop for lunch. I happen to have famous Cerulean city coffee! You kids are too young for this stuff, but trust me it really is quite good..."

"I'd love a cup of coffee!" I cheered.

Ash grimaced "you drink that stuff?"

"Yep I could use a pick me up after all that riding around and practicing...." I sighed.

"Ooh I want some!!!" Lilly piped up.

"No! You have enough energy!" I yelled.

She retreated into her shell.

"Sorry Lilly...." I sweat dropped.

She popped right out and shouted "I forgive you!" In a sweet and happy voice.

I scratched the top of her head.

"Anyway I need firewood..." Brock said.

"I need to practice that shield technique..." I blurted out.

"I'd love to help with the boring job of firewood gathering... but I must keep Brock company." Misty said proudly.

Ash looked back and fourth between us before sighing "right away..."

I put Lilly on the ground in front of me "Lilly let's do this okay?"

She nodded.

It became a habitual thing. I always did better at making a shield if I was actually defending against something and Lilly was more than happy to use water gun.

We walked about thirty feet away to train.

I actually managed to keep the shield up for a half second before it went away and I got soaked.

And she sent me tumbling for several yards....

Damn I trained her hard...

She ran up to me "Will you okay?"

"I'm fine... I got how to start the shield... I need to work on keeping it up..." I sighed and popped an Oran berry.

"Let's go again!" I cheered.

After several tries I managed to get my shield up for about thirty seconds.

I was tired and panting quite a bit.

"Man that takes it out of me..." I popped an Oran berry and perked right up.

"Man those work good!" I fist pumped.

Lilly mirrored me and cheered.

Then this voice announced "that concludes today's fog training, tomorrow is Snow!"

And the fog cleared like it never even existed.

I looked around and saw everyone crowded around some kid.

I walked over and asked "what I miss?"

"This pokemon school is horrible!" Misty yelled.

"Oh yeah I heard of this place... the impossible school you can attend rather than gathering badges... it just screams lazy to me...." The kid piped up "but if I didn't come here I wouldn't know all about Pidgey, pidgeotto and Pidgiot!"

"Trust me I've done intense research on pokemon from Kanto, Johto, Hoen, Sinnoh, and even some on Unova! You can show me a picture of any pokemon from those regions and I can name it, tell you how it fights, and what it evolves into.

Honestly none of it matters. Ash is doing just as well and he hasn't diligently researched anything!

It was just a big waste of time..... now I'm a ten year old human pokedex that lost out on his childhood...."

I finished my speech to see everyone staring at me with teary eyes and sniffling.

Lilly was hugging my head and Brock and Misty joined in.

They sobbed "that's so sad!"

I smiled "don't cry you guys... I'm fine... as long as I'm on my journey I won't be wasting anything!"

After a few more minutes of them hugging me they calmed down and we focused.

The kid walked up and said "now I know what you guys meant when you said friends aren't like that... but that's how friends work here.... all thanks to the top student."

He held out a picture of her.

Ash and Brock immediately started drooling over her.

I shrugged "sure she's a pretty face, but that's not an excuse for what she's doing here..."

"Thank Arceus at least one of the boys I travel with is sensible!" Misty sighed.

She got a serious look on her face and ran off to challenge the top student.

The rest of us followed closely.

We found her no problem and Misty challenged her.

It didn't end well....

Starmie was beaten by a Graveler......

After that I got bored because I always thought this filler episode sucked and started training with my shield again when something came to mind.

Is this a psychic energy bubble like Mew's? I think it is but... blue?

Am I a shiny Mew?

No that would be stupid, I guess my psychic energy is just blue....

Wait maybe that's why I can understand Pokespeak! I hear their thoughts!

Nah I'd still hear them going pika pika or something wouldn't I?

I might just have both...

I snapped out of my thoughts just in time to see team Rocket get pelted by pokeballs.

Heh that was the single best part of that episode...

Now I wonder... can I make stuff float and fire blasts of Psychic energy like Mew....

Better start small to be safe.

I picked up a pebble and focused on it.

It turned to powder.

Crud... Good thing I practiced with a rock.

I picked up another and tried gently wrapping it with energy.

The rock glowed.

Alright... now up!

The rock shot into the air.

OK a little to much power on that...

I caught the pebble with my power.

I tried moving it with my eyes and that worked pretty well.

Weird I guess it's less taxing to mess with these powers... I guess because I'm stopping something by creating a physical barrier vs using the energy to manipulate things that already exist.....

that makes sense to me...

I wonder if I can do big things....

I looked around and saw everyone staring at me.

"What I miss?" I said trying to sound clueless.

Lilly chirped "Ash won the battle, team Rocket attacked and was repealed by pokeballs, and everyone saw you make that rock turn to dust and that other one fly!"

I nodded and mumbled "and I'm screwed...."

Before everyone encircled me.

I was able to put up a sturdy enough shield to hold them back.

I yelled "before any of you get to me... I have a few words... I'm just figuring these out... I couldn't answer your questions if I wanted to.

Ash! Brock! Misty! Pikachu! I'm gonna pass out now... make sure nothing too bad happens while I'm knocked out okay?"

And I fell asleep.

I found myself sitting in a black void before a bright pink light appeared.

I heard a small cute voice "so your the psychic energy I felt? Cool! Wanna play a game?"

I smiled "why not?"

The light grew intense until I couldn't look.

At the same time I felt a ton better all of a sudden.

I cracked my neck "man that felt pretty good Mew. Thanks... although I do have one question... What kind of game are we playing?"

The light died down and Mew revealed itself "awww... how did you guess it was me?! The game was to guess who I was...." It whined.

I chuckled "a Kanto pokemon that can sense psychic energy easily has to narrow it down by quite a bit, plus has the power to talk to me in my dreams and wants to play the instant we meet? It has to be you!"

Mew giggled "your smart!"

"So I actually have a few questions...."

"I read your mind and past... your wondering how and why your here, why your ten when you were 18, why you have such powers, and why your family doesn't have memories of the other world like you do...."

I nodded.

"I can't tell you! That'd be spoilers!" She told me cutely.

I managed to anime fall in the void.

"So can you at least play the pronoun game?" I asked.

Mew got a harmonica out of nowhere, played a high c and sung "noooo!"

She cleared her throat and said "all I can say is practice your powers, stay with Ash, and have fun!"

"That answered none of my actual questions...."

She giggled "too bad!"

I got an irk mark before saying "and now this is going to happen...." I jumped up with dream powers, grabbed her, and started to tickle her silly.

She wriggled mightily under my fingers as she howled with laughter.

She used psychic to send me flying.

Suddenly I woke up.

I looked around and saw I was in the Pokemon center. Lilly was next to me asleep while the others occupied the beds.

Everyone was out cold..

I saw the clock on the wall and saw it was three o'clock in the morning.

Damn... I'm not sleepy anymore and its at least three hours until everyone wakes up....

Hmmmm I think I should play musical beds!

I focused and made Ash and Brock switch beds before switching Misty and me and I put Lilly next to Ash and waited.

Either I'm good or these people are heavy sleepers...

I yawned.

At least I'm tired enough to sleep more....

I woke up to the beautiful sound of confusion and random attacks being used by panicked pokemon.

I looked around and started laughing at everyone else.

They all looked at me at first angrily, then laughing.

Brock was scorched, Ash was wet, and Misty's hair was all over the place.

"What happened...." Pikachu blinked.

"A game I call musical beds. I mixed all of you up in your sleep because I was bored..." I chuckled.

I got serious and asked "so what happened after I passed out?"

"Everyone got a little crazy so we had to wrestle you out of the crowd. After that we got you to this pokemon center and you started giggling in your sleep." Brock explained.

"Yeah... I met Mew in my sleep!" I told them.

"Mew?!" the pokemon gasped.

"Mew?" The trainers asked confused.

"What's Mew?" Ash asked.

I spoke out "Mew is a tiny pink cat with crazy psychic abilities. She's a legendary and is often called the phantom pokemon..."

All three of their mouths dropped open and looked at me crazy.

"What? I researched pokemon all my life... I know about legendary pokemon as well." I said annoyed.

"That's a huge thing to drop on us Will!" Pikachu piped up.

"I know but it doesn't change anything for now." I told him.

"What did...." Ash started.

"He said it is a big deal." I answered.

"I meant Mew..."

"Oh sorry... She told me to stay with you Ash and told me to practice my powers and have fun." I told them.

"Anything else?" Lilly asked.

I shook my head no.

I used telekinesis to get Lilly on my shoulder and said "come on its still a long way to Vermilion and the next badge!"

We decided to walk for a few reasons.

One I wanted to practice, two we wanted to take our time, and three we were going a little too fast.

I was the only one that cared about the last one....

The way I'd train is I'd get Lilly or Pikachu to attack me randomly or to carry a large rock while we walked.

We of course had a few battles.

I had gotten up to 99 wins.

Ash had gotten another win before the kid said "Wow your strong... you could probably beat Aj!"

"Aj?" Ash asked.

"Yeah the savage trainer he runs an unofficial gym and has 98 straight wins right down the road!" the kid told us.

Yay! A filler episode I liked!

"Sounds good, I have 99 straight wins." I told him and walked away.

I grabbed a boulder and crushed it to dust in excitement.

The others caught up to me no problem. And we made it there within a few minutes.

The man himself Aj came out and asked "are you two my next victims?"

I was about to say something when Ash yelled "I'm gonna make you lose! I have two badges!"

I taunted "with them being given to you and combined with the fact that you've lost ten matches and won only thirty I think your outmatched buddy...

I can tell he's just as, if not slightly weaker at battling than me."

"Weaker than you?!" He yelled.

"I'm not saying your weak, I'm just saying I have more consecutive wins and badges..." I told him.

I pointed to the scoreboard and told him "I have 1 total loss ever and 99 wins in a row, plus two badges."

He smirked "your a worthy challenge. I'll save you for my hundredth victory."

"We'll see..." I smirked right back.

"Come on in I'll show you my training technique and you'll see how strong my pokemon are." Aj smirked.

I walked in and saw a bunch of Rattata balancing on balls, a Butterfree and Beedrill sparing, and Sandshrew diving into a pool.

Oh man this is all wrong... It's such weak training...

Ash took one look at it and yelled out "this is wrong! It's so cruel!"

I walked over to Aj and told him "I don't think this is cruel I just think your doing the wrong type of training...."

He got annoyed and said "how so?"

"With those Rattata your training balance. Nothing wrong with that, but it shouldn't be the main focus.

I'd personally focus on speed and bite strength with a Rattata.

They aren't very durable so learning to dodge is a really important thing for them.

As for the Butterfree and Beedrill sure they can handle themselves in a hand to hand, but people mainly use fire to attack bug types and very few situations involve fire moves that you dodge physical attacks.

As for your Sandshew it is a good idea to train him for water resistance, but a water attack is several gallons of water rushing at it, not water gently surrounding him."

All of them starred at me wide eyed.

Aj yelled "No! That makes so much sense! I have been doing it wrong!"

He slumped over and had a raincloud over his head.

I patted his shoulder and said "its OK just some slight adjustments and you'll do even better."

He got up and nodded.

"So lets battle already!" Lilly started jumping up and down on my shoulder.

"He has to have one more battle and win before he beats me." I told her.

I saw team Rocket rolling around in a ball.

I picked their ball disguise up with psychic energy and taunted "looks like we have a couple volunteers! They're all yours Aj!"

He smirked "with pleasure! No one tries to steal from my gym and gets away with it!"

Aj yelled "Sandshrew! Use magnitude on those team Rocket freaks!"

I made sure we were safe from the powerful ground type attack while team Rocket were buried in a massive crevasse.

They somehow ended up exploding and were sent flying away.

Aj turned to me "I never met a psychic trainer before... are all of you this knowledgeable?"

"Some are but were mostly normal people with psychic energy..." I shrugged.

He nodded and said "now we can battle."

We walked outside and I pulled out Missy's pokeball.

"Will your using Missy? Why? Lilly has the advantage..." Misty replied.

"I know that... I want a challenge! Come on out Missy!" I yelled out.

"A Nidorina huh?" he smirked.

"Sandshrew use dig!"

I searched for Sandshrew and found him.

"Use horn attack to your left!"

Sandshrew popped out of the ground and was met with a sharp spine to the face.

Sandshrew fell back, but held fast.

He's his first pokemon and has trained hard...

"Use sand attack!"

Sandshrew splashed a large amount of sand into Missy's eyes. I saw Sandshrew rush towards Missy.

"Missy do exactly what I say! Jump and use double kick on the ground!"

She did so and managed to land right on top of Sandshrew.

Sandshrew got back up again shaking.

It growled "I won't let you beat me! Aj and I have worked to hard and were too close to getting badges!"

"Headbutt Sandshrew!"

"Brace yourself Missy!"

Sandshrew rammed into Missy hard, but she was able to minimize the damage.

"Use bite Missy!"

Missy grabbed his arm and bit down hard and threw him away.

He gripped his arm as he got back up yet again.

"I'm not done yet!" He snarled before he started glowing.

"Uh oh.... I'm in trouble..." Missy sweat dropped.

Aj's eyes sparkled with happiness as Sandshrew grew spikes, and grew to the same size as Missy.

"Use fury swipes Sandslash!"

He rushed Missy so fast I couldn't react and she got smacked around.

"Missy!"

"Use magnitude!"

Sandslash stomped his foot and made everything shake tossing Missy around. Missy landed hard and was the one barely hanging on.

"Missy you okay?" I asked.

She got up "owie......"

"Sandslash finish this with another magnitude!"

Missy fell down into the cracked ground and I returned her.

"Good match." I smiled.
