I woke up in my dorm and looked at the ceiling.. I was covered in sweat. I looked at the clock. 12:35AM.. I looked at my calendar. FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL! Was written in big letters on my calendar. Today started my first day at Princeton University's High School for Honors Students. I walked up to the picture of my mother and I smiled at her.

Suesie: Rest in peace momma.. Rest in peace.

I kissed her picture and set it back down. I looked around myself and smiled.

Suesie: I have gotten a second chance.. Thank God.

I didn't go out of my room until it was time to but until then, I prayed and read my Bible.

Suesie: God will protect me this year.. I just have to make better choices. That's all. LaToya, Michael, Jermaine, Rebbie, Tito, Marlon, Jackie, Janet and Randy. Such wonderful people.. My future family. Well, I have to pretend I don't know them.

I chose to wear all black that day. One, to celebrate the life of my mother and two, to thank God for a second chance. It was like I had died and resurrected. I know just about everything that's going to happen to me if I do the same thing and chose the same choices but.. I'm so glad.. I wonder if I brought all of these boxes in my dorm by myself. I hope I did or just said something different to him about my mother.

Whatever is happening is going to happen. I went out of my room and went to the office before I was even called down there. I waited for the Principal to come and take me to his office so that I could talk to him.

Suesie: Good morning Mr. Jackson.

He gave me a strange look and then smiled.

Principal: Good morning. You must be Suzanne Braxton.

Suesie: Yes sir, I am.. And I guess you'll give me guide to show me the school once we're done with questions right?

Principal: That is.. Correct.. My dear, have we met before? You seem so familiar.

Suesie: No sir, I don't believe we have.

Principal: You keep reading my mind..

Suesie: I'm sorry about that.. Runs in the family.

We laughed.

Principal: I can tell that you will be a great student this year. Tell me, do you have any questions?

Suesie: Well, I would like to meet my guidance and I must say that I love your school. You've done a wonderful job keeping it in order.

Principal: Thank you Suzanne. I'll get you guide momentarily.

He said before getting up and going to his phone. Michael.. I'm ready to meet you all over again.. Mr. Jackson came back and smiled at me as he lead me out of his office door.

Suesie: And I trust that you gave me no one but the finest to show me around.

Principal: Yes. Suzanne, this is your tour guide.

He said as Michael stepped through the door. Michael stopped and looked at me. I smiled at him.

Suesie: Its a pleasure to meet you Michael..

Michael: Pleasures all mine..

I looked at Michael for a while and then back at the Principal.

Principal: Is something wrong, Suzanne?

Suesie: I'm sorry.. But you two look alike.. Is this your son?

Principal: Why.. Yes. He's in training to take over the family business.

Suesie: What a fine young man you raised.

Principal: Thank you. Well, I guess you two better get going.

Suesie: Yes sir.. And we promise to be good.

We walked out of the room and Michael shut the door behind me. Once we got far enough, Michael stopped me.

Suesie: Michael, what's wrong?

Michael: You know my name.. Joseph never mentioned my name..

Suesie: Oh.. I-.. Um..

I said as I looked away.

Michael: Suzanne.. He never mentioned your name to me either.

He smiled at me. I hugged him and then he kissed me.

Suesie: I'm so glad we were given a second chance.

Michael: I am too.. I had the same dream.

I smiled and he held me close.

Michael: I can't wait to meet our daughter.

Suesie: Leona..

Michael: Leona Aaliyah Jackson.

Suesie: I Love You Michael.

Michael: I Love You too Suzanne.

We spent the rest of the day together.
