The Party
They had invited everyone in the grade to the party. Most people just wore regular clothes but Cindy, Libby, Sheen, Carl, Jimmy, and a few other random people got dressed up. Libby wore a teal, sparkly, knee-length dress that was fluffy. She also wore a teal butterfly beret in her hair. Cindy wore a purple, sparkly dress that came down to her ankles. And, of course, she wore her classic ponytail hairdo. The boys just wore tux. Everyone was dazzled by how fancy they looked. Some jaws were dropping as others talked about how they wanted her dress or that tux.
Cindy and Libby appeared at Jimmy's door with the others behind them. They knocked on his door. Jimmy ran up from the lab and answered it. "So how exactly are we getting there?" Cindy questioned. She knew not everyone would fit in the hover-car, and that would be to long of a drive.
Jimmy smiled slightly and gestured them in, "Follow me."
The group of people followed Jimmy into the lab were Sheen and Carl were waiting. Jimmy then stopped in front of something. "This is how we get there. You just step right through the portal and you'll be at the beach." Cindy was still sceptic.
"What if your portal messes up and we get sent some where else, huh?"
Jimmy smirked again, ready to answer. "That's why Carl and Sheen are her to demo straight. Who wants to go first." Carl was worried as always and pushed Sheen forward, who happily walked through the portal. He disappeared. Seconds later his head popped back out.
"Come on guys it's a par tahy out here!!!!!"
Everyone cheered and ran through the portal. Cindy, who was in the front got pushed back by people getting to the portal. Libby was there too when the crowd cleared. "Come on Cind! I got to DJ!" Libby grabbed her hand and jumped through the portal.
Sheen was at the DJ table and was "DJing"(he just clicked the first track). Libby let go of Cindy's arm and ran up the set up. "Thank for holding me up Sheen. Now, get down."
"Anything for you Libby!" and he jumped of the set up. Libby rolled her eyes and leaned onto the mic. "Hello Retroville are you ready to party?!" The crowd screamed and Libby played her music.
Cindy was alone at the punch bowl watching her friend. She just had nothing to do, and was trying to figure what she could do. She was contemplating getting something to eat.
No then you would look like a weird loner.
Jimmy then walked over to the punch bowl and got something to drink. He had been walking around making sure everything was working and had gotten pretty thirsty. He then stood next to Cindy which, to her, made her very uncomfortable.
"Umm why exactly are you standing by me of all people?"
Jimmy looked at her, smirked then faced forward. "You looked lonely, and I needed some punch after rushing around checking equipment." Jimmy had and still has a crush on Cindy. That's why he argued with her, to not show her his feelings, but also because they had always argued. He didn't want the school thinking he had gone soft.
"I know I look lonely but I'm not. So, why aren't you hanging it with Carl or Sheen?" She asked, curiosity now replacing her tone. She had a crush on Jimmy, too but was to scared to admit it to him, no matter what happened in the past.
Jimmy then blushed realizing what she had said made sense. He simply replied with a shrug. Then the music toned down and the turned their intention to Libby. "Alright everyone grab a partner because this is the slow dance of the night." Just then Sheen ran on stage to grab Libby and she took off her gear to join him as the track played. Once again Jimmy and Cindy were left out but starred for a moment at the two.
Then Jimmy put his drink down and stepped in front of Cindy. "May I have this dance?" He asked her holding out his hand. Of course Jimmy knew she secretly had a crush on him, everyone did, but he liked her back. So this was his chance.
Cindy was confused at first but then took his hand and they went to the edge of the dance floor, slowly dancing. As they dance they didn't say much but there were moments were they would meet eyes and stay that way for a while. But then they would blush and Cindy would look away, to the beautiful, memorable island. The tree still stood were she had craved their initial, she remembered it well. But the initial were no longer there, washed away by rain and climbing monkeys.
"Beautiful night isn't it?" Jimmy asked interrupting the silence, "I just didn't want it to be quiet all the time." He warmly smiled at her. She smiled back and looked up to the stars. They were shinning, and the atmosphere made everything more beautiful. The sky was a navy blue mixed with purple and really set the mode.
"Yeah, yeah it is," she responded looking up and smiling while listening to Mariah Carey. She smiled at then slowly put her head on his chest. He didn't mind though. For obvious reasons, but Cindy was slightly blushing, realizing she was in front of all these people. But everyone was paying attention to their own partner.

On the night went and everyone there was having a good time. But around midnight everyone was worn out. So they headed home. What most people didn't see was that Cindy and Jimmy had spent the entire rest of the night together, laughing and chilling. Once they had gotten home they took showers and went to sleep peacefully, happily reflecting on the wonderful night they just had.
