Chapter Three

I woke the next morning to a surprise. Halle was gone, and her pajamas were all nicely folded on her bed. I looked around my vision slightly blurred. I got up off the floor where I had slept the night before. I put the blankets and pillows back on her bed and stepped outside in to the hallway. I didn't hear or even see anyone. Did they leave me? I thought.

I Heard something in the kitchen, so as I turned the corner and had a baseball bat I had found by the stairs, I had four people right in my face yelling happy birthday. I almost smashed them all to pieces. I then put the bat down and saw the cake they had for me. I walked over and took a deep breathe, closed my eyes, made a wish, and blew with all i had in me. I opened my eyes to four celebrating people. If you asked me, It looked more like I just won The Nobel Peace Prize.

After my birthday celebration, Halle and I went upstairs. Once I was on her bed, I looked at her and said "Dude! I wasn't expecting that at all!" She just looked at me.

"Puahahahahahaha!" She laughed with tears in her eyes. I laughed cried with her.

I looked at my phone and saw a text I had from my mom. She wants me home soon, So I got my stuff together, said my good-byes, and left. The walk home was so peaceful. I just loved it. Just as my house was in sight, I thought about everything Halle and I talked about the night before. Somethings we hadn't talked about with each other in years.

I was instantly aware of the fact there were three cars in the driveway instead of two. It was either my mom's dad, my dad's mom, or Charity's boyfriend. I took the easy route and chose Charity's boyfriend, and of course I was right. When I opened the door there they were on the couch. Totally sucking face. I made a barf noise as I walked to the stairs past them.

"You'll be sorry when you have a boyfriend! I hope you never bring him home!" She said as Corey was working his way around her face and neck.

I seriously just wish that mom would catch them once, then he'd be out of here. I've never liked him. From the moment when I first met him and he totally did the head to toe look over.  I wanted to expose him, but he made her happy. So I didn't, being the good sister I am. I just avoided him as much as I could with out being obvious.

Do you think she was being serious? About me bringing home a guy? I don't even like anyone. Do I? I had so many questions running through my mind. I walked up to my room and flopped on my bed. I just need time to think. I thought.

"Wait," I said to my empty room. " Didn't mom tell me she wanted me home? Why isn't she here?"

I got up and went down stairs. "Where's mom?" I asked Charity.

"I don't know. She left awhile ago. Said she had some business to take care of. Why?" She replied.

"Just wondering." I guess she just wanted me to be home before she was. I went back upstairs. Blake shot into my mind, but for once, I actually let him stay there. I thought about him for about an hour. I decided I was at least, interested in him a little bit. It was fifteen until three. I rolled over and grabbed my laptop off the floor.  It was neon purple with neon green polka dots. I plugged it in and got on Facebook. I hardly ever get on here, but i had nothing better to do with my day.

I logged on and saw I had 56 notifications and 37 friends requests. I felt overwhelmed and just logged out. I did not want to deal with that right now. I got on Youtube and set my computer on the floor. I got up and started to clean up the little mess I had created when I left for Halle's. Just a few pieces of clothes on the floor.

I took my dirty clothes basket down stairs into the laundry room to wash clothes when i heard some voices I didn't recignize in my living room. I set my basket down and wlked in. I noticed my mom's voice right away but then, there was voice that sounded like they were in the sixth grade. I turned the corner and saw my mom sitting there, having tea, with Blake Matthews and his mother.

"Uh," I said not knowing what else to do.

"Oh, hi hunny!" Look who dropped by for a visit. He said he could help you with your Pre-Algebra." She said so innocently.

"Uhm, okay." I said with a nod. This was going to be fun.
