Chapter Three

I don't own either PJO, HoO or DC.

"Okay, um, lets do that prank with the plastic wrap and someone walk into it, whatever it's called," Percy said.

Barbara smiled and nodded. "Follow me. I know a good place we can do this."

Percy nodded and followed Barbara to a hallway. No one was around and they saw a closed door.

"Here," Barbara said, pointing to the door.

"That door is a pull door, not a push one, right?" Percy asked.

"Yeah, it's a pull door," Barbara said and grabbed the plastic wrap that she'd previously gotten. She pulled out a lot of it and positioned it over the door.

"Percy. Tape?" Barbara said.

"Right," Percy said and gave the tape to Barbara. Barbara then taped the plastic wrap to the wall, a few inches over the door. Then they ran to a hiding spot so they could see the prank take place.

When Percy saw the door handle move she immediately alerted Barbara. They both started, unblinking, at the door. When the door swung open and a muscular guy with brown hair and blue eyes walked out. Right into the plastic. He ended up on the floor shouting curses. Both Percy and Barbara were red in the face from keeping in their laughter. Then the two walked silently away from the place.

They prepared their next prank, filling a bucket with water. Opening a door slightly and putting the bucket over the slight opening of the door. They ran to another hiding spot and waited. Time passed, and Percy wasn't the most patient person. It felt like Kronos had decided to slow down time, just to annoy her. Then the door finally opened and the bucket of water fell of someone, it was hilarious. The victim, an officer with brown hair and brown eyes shook his arms, trying to shake away the water. He shook his head, trying to dry his hair. He sputtered curses and Percy and Barbara got away without being caught.

"This is so fun," Percy whispered.

"It is, isn't it?" Barbara said. "I've done it before, but it's more funny with someone by your side."

"I bet it is," Percy said.

The duo continued to prank officers, not feeling one bit of guilt. Sure, the officers didn't think it was as fun as they did, but Percy didn't care. Every now and then she looked at her phone (monster-proof and made by Leo) to see if her mother or Paul had sent her a message or something.

"Do you usually prank the officers when your dad takes you here?" Percy asked.

"No, but I have a few times when I was younger," she answered.

"How come you suggested it today?" Percy asked.

Barbara shrugged. "I just felt like it could be fun."

Percy smiled. "Well, your assumption was correct."

By the time that Percy had to leave with her mother the two girls had exchanged phone numbers and Percy knew that this was a friendship growing, one that won't be easily forgotten. She'd made a friend, her first friend in Gotham. Percy missed the Seven and the rest of her friends from Camp and New York, but this was a step forward. She would never forget her friends at Camp and New York, but now that she's in Gotham she needs to get her mind off them, they can't inhabit her thoughts all of the time. It wasn't like she'd never see them again, she'd go to camp during the summers and she could also easily Iris Message her fellow demigods.

Percy hummed to the music that played on the radio as she stared out the window. The car moved quickly, it always did (Sally wasn't exactly a slow driver).

"So, what did you do while I was gone?" Sally asked, keeping her eyes on the road.

"Barbara and I pranked some people," Percy said.

"Of course you did," Sally said and laughed. "I'm glad you and Barbara got along."

Percy smiled and kept looking out the window. "Me too."

Then she continued to hum to the music and she was quickly lost to her thought. She made a mental note to IM Annabeth tonight, like she did every day. Her hands itched to feel the familiar feeling of a sword in her hand, the rush of adrenaline while fighting monsters, or just sparring. She missed everything, even Clarisse.

"Percy, are you okay?" Sally asked, concerned by Percy's silence.

"Just thinking," Percy said.

"That's new," Sally said with a light laugh.

"It is, isn't it? Gotham's already effecting me," Percy said.

"Not the worst effect, though," Sally jokes and they both laughed.

When they arrived by their house Sally parked the car and they both got out of the car. Sally unlocked the front door and Percy rushed up to her room. Sally sighed and closed the door.

Percy clung herself on her bed and moaned. She fell to the floor and she got up on her knee. She walked over to the window (still on her knees) and looked out of the window. The view was the same as always, it showed the forever dark and gloomy Gotham city. When you saw how gloomy and dark Gotham truly was it became obvious why Gotham had a vigilante like Batman. It was impossible to see Superman flying through the dark city in his colorful costume, or the Flash running through the cot with his red costume, lightning dancing in his trail. It was really impossible to see any non-Gotham vigilante or superhero running around Gotham City.

Percy crawled back to her bed and stared up at the ceiling before her ADHD decided to intervene. Percy rolled of her bed, hitting the floor with a thud and fished her phone from her pocket. She entered her texting app and decided to text Barbara.

Percy : Hey, btw it's Percy

Now all she could do was wait for a reply.

Barbara : sup, how're u doing?

Percy's face lit up when she saw the reply and she quickly typed out her answer.

Percy: Good, how bout u?
