Chapter Six
By the way, if you're wondering, this will be Barbara x Percy.
I don't own any of the characters
Percy sat on her bed, Barbara by her side. School was over for the day and now they were sitting in her room, discussing what to do.
"What about a movie or something?" Percy suggested.
"Good idea!" Barbara said.
"Come on! Let's make some popcorn!" Percy said and grabbed Barbras wrist, dragging her to the kitchen.
Barbara awkwardly waited as Percy scanned the panty. "Popcorn, popcorn, popcorn, where is the popcorn..." Percy muttered to herself. "There!"
Percy grabbed a bed of popcorn and put it in the microwave, turning it on. (I haven't used a microwave in like almost 3 years, so sorry if it's a little incorrect) A pling sounded after a while and Percy opened the microwave, taking the hot popcorn bag out of the microwave. She grabbed a plastic bowl and gently opening the bag, trying to not burn herself. She poured the popcorn into the bag and threw the paper bag into the trash. Then she turned towards Barbara, popcorn bowl in her hands, a giant smile on her face.
"Let's go!" Percy exclaimed and they ran up to her room, somehow not dropping any popcorn. They both lay down on Percy's bed and Percy turned on her TV and they started to look for something to watch.
In the end they decided to watch a comedy movie. 'Cause, what can go wrong with a good ol' comedy movie?
All in all, it was a good comedy movie. They laughed along to the jokes, ate popcorn and talked.
When they were finished with the popcorn Barbara put the bowl aside.
After the movie they decided to turn the TV off and chat.
"What were your New York friends like?" Barbara asked out of curiosity.
"Um. Annabeth is really smart, loves to correct me, and that stuff. Grover is really into nature and protecting it. Thalia is a real feminist, she's a part of this feminist group who are, like, extreme feminists. Nico is... a bit sensitive when it comes to emotions. Reyna is really ... strict and formal. Jason is kind and leader-like. Piper is a tomboy, like really a tomboy. Leo is funny, like really funny and annoying. Hazel is kind and caring and Frank is kinda shy, I guess," Percy said.
"They sound like some cool people," Barbara said.
"They were," Percy said. "How about you?"
"Well, my best friend, Dick, moved not so long ago..." Barbara said, trailing off.
"Oh," Percy said. "I hope you've kept contact with him."
"Yeah, I have. He seems to like it in Blüdhaven," Barbara said.
"Blüdhaven? Isn't that, like, the only city that's worse than Gotham?" Percy asked.
"I think so, it's as bad as Gotham at least," Barbara said.
"Yeah..." Percy said awkwardly.
"Your eyes are really cool," Barbara said out of the sudden.
Percy blinked a few times in surprise. "Thanks."
Barbara nodded, blushing in embarrassment.
"Yours are too," Percy said. "Your eyes."
"Thanks."
Now both of them were blushing in embarrassment.
"How about another movie?" Barbara suggested.
"Lets do that."
-
By the end of the day Percy was happy, really happy. Aside from the awkward conversation about friends it had been a wonderful day. When Percy fell asleep she couldn't shake the feeling of happiness.
Surprisingly, Percy didn't have any nightmares of the war or of Tartarus that night, but she didn't exactly dream of pink unicorns and rainbows either. It was a pleasant dream, that's all that mattered.
-
The next morning Percy was awoken by the annoying sound of her alarm clock. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. She quickly turned it off and reluctantly left her warm bed. She put on her annoying school uniform. Dam uniform. She walked down the the stairs into the kitchen and found blue waffles waiting for her. She grabbed her plate and proceeded to douse them in syrup.
She then quickly ate the waffles, then putting the plate in the dish washer.
Then Percy walked to the bathroom and brushed her teeth. After two minutes of brushing Percy walked out of the bathroom and looked down on her phone. Nothing important.
Then when the time came she walked to school.
-
When lunch came Percy was relieved, she was soooo hungry. She grabbed her lunch and sat down beside Barbara.
"Hey Percy," Barbara said.
"Hi," Percy responded.
"How's it going for you with the argumentative text?" Barbara asked.
"The one about why we should preserve our forests while we still can?" Percy asked to which Barbara nodded. "Horribly, you?"
"Pretty good actually," Barbara said.
"Lucky," Percy muttered and Barbara smirked.
"Maybe I am," Barbara said. "And maybe I'm not."
"Why wouldn't you be?" Percy asked.
Barbara shrugged. "I don't know. Which side are you taking for the text?"
"I'm against people destroying forests, 'cause if I was for it... Grover would have my head," Percy said and laughed.
"I bet her would," Barbara said and also laughed.
"Yeah, he would."
