Chapter One
Okay, first some information about this story. Yes, in this story Sally is a police, a detective. She's transferred to Gotham City and she, Paul and Percy have to move. That's around it, so enjoy!!!
I don't own either PJO, HoO or DC.
Percy sat on her bed, fiddling with Riptide, in pen form of course. School was starting in about two months and Percy already dreaded it. She knew that these two months would speed by and before she would be able to understand she'd be back in school.
A knock on her door threw her out of her thoughts.
"Come in," Percy said.
"Percy, we need to talk," Sally said.
"About what?" Percy asked.
Sally walked into the room and sat down beside Percy. Sally took a deep breath and looked around the room for a moment. "We're moving."
As soon as Percy heard the words uttered from her mothers mouth she was confused. Moving? Where? Why?
"What? Where? Why?" Percy asked.
"Slow down a little, Percy. We're moving to Gotham because I was transferred there. You know how police work... works," Sally said with a small chuckle.
"Gotham?" Percy asked.
"Yes, Gotham," Sally said.
"But- but, isn't that one on the worst cities in the world?" Percy asked.
"Crime wise, yes. But, hey, it's not gonna be that bad. You can make some new friends, you'll still meet Annabeth at camp on the summers," Sally said.
"I don't want to move," Percy said.
"I know, I understand, but it'll be good for you, for all of us," Sally said.
"Okay," Percy said. "I gotta talk to Annabeth."
Sally nodded and walked out of the room, closing the door after her.
"How'd it go?" Paul asked her.
"You know Percy, she'd not exactly excited," Sally said.
"Well, it is Gotham after all," Paul said.
-
When Annabeths face appeared on the Iris Message a thought struck Percy. How am I supposed to explain this?
"Hey Seaweed Brain, whats up?" Annabeth said.
Percy managed a smile. "The sky, Wise Girl."
"Once a Seaweed Brain, always a Seaweed Brain," Annabeth said.
"If you say so," Percy replied. "Here's the thing Annabeth, I'm moving. I'm moving to Gotham."
"What?" Annabeth asked.
"I'm moving. Mom got transferred to the Gotham City Police Department, GCPD," Percy explained.
"I'll still see you at camp during the summers, right?" Annabeth asked.
"Yeah, you will," Percy replied.
"Well, at least there's that," Annabeth said.
"Yeah, there is," Percy said. "Can you tell the others I'm moving, I don't have enough drachmas to IM them all."
"Will do, Percy," Annabeth said. "Wouldn't want them thinking Hera kidnapped you again."
"No, we don't want that," Percy said. "I'll make sure to IM you."
"You better," Annabeth said. "Or I'll judo-flip you, even if you're in Gotham."
"Wouldn't expect anything else, Wise Girl," Percy said.
"No, you wouldn't, no one would, Seaweed Brain," Annabeth said.
"Well, I gotta go now," Percy said. "Bye!"
"Goodbye, Percy!" Annabeth said before Percy ended the IM.
Percy groaned and whispered a small, "Why?"
Percy walked out to the kitchen where she thought she might find her mother. Her assumption was correct as she did find Sally in the kitchen baking a batch of blue cookies. Currently the cookies were in the oven, transforming from dough to cookies.
"Hey Mom, when are we moving?" Percy asked.
"Well, all of our furniture is being transported to Gotham tomorrow and we'll move there around a week later," Sally said.
"So we'll be moving in a week?" Percy said.
"Yes," Sally said.
"Could've just said that," Percy muttered.
"You know I heard that, right?" Sally said.
Ignoring her mother's comment Percy asked another question. "Will be living at a hotel after our stuff is transported?"
"Yes, until we move," Sally said.
An annoying sound suddenly came about. The timer. Sally put on her oven mitts and opened the oven. She took the tray of cookies and put them on the kitchen counter.
"They're for after dinner, Percy," Sally warned.
"Okay," Percy said, trying all she could to keep her mind off the cookies. "What about school?"
"There's this school, a private school, Gotham Academy, you'll be going to," Sally said. "Your father arranged it."
"Oh, okay," Percy said.
-
Percy was bored, oh so bored. She looked out of the window and looked at the environment as they zoomed by in a car. Sally was driving and Paul sat next to her, leaving Percy in one of the back seats. The car ride to Gotham was boring as Percy had nothing to do. Nothing. She already missed home, she already missed Camp, Annabeth and all of her other friends. Why did they have to move, now again? Right, Sally's job. It'll be fun, a new start, one part of her mind argued. Nah, you'll just miss everyone, the other part said.
Percy blocked out the argument and continued to look out the window.
When they pulled up to an average looking house Percy felt relieved. They're finally there! They're finally in Gotham! Once the car was parked Percy opened the car door and stepped out of the car. She took a deep breath and looked around her. It was gloomy, even though it was in the middle of the day.
"Now, remember. This is Gotham, don't go out if it's dark, okay?" Sally said.
"I know, yeah, you've already said that a lot," Percy said.
"Oh, Percy. You know I just want you to be safe," Sally said.
"I know," Percy said.
Sally walked up to the house, grabbed the keys from her pocket and unlocked the house. The whole Jackson-Blofis family stepped into the house and saw all the boxes lying everywhere.
"Time to get unpacking!" Sally exclaimed.
