Chapter Four
I do not own the characters
When school came around Percy wasn't exactly excited and that was an understatement. Percy just didn't like school, there was nothing strange about it. A lot of people dislike school and some liked it. Percy had been expelled from a lot of schools, maybe schools disliked her too? They could have a relationship of mutual dislike. Well, Percy had reasons to dislike school. With ADHD and dyslexia, it wasn't easy to keep focused and do school work. You try reading a book while all the letters just move and swim around the page. Not easy. When Percy saw the school uniform... that just made things worse. Why such a short skirt? What was wrong with a decent 'long' skirt or even better, a pair of pants? Percy sighed but put it on nonetheless. The school uniform was required and Percy was not planning on getting expelled. Not that they'd expel her for not wearing the school uniform once, but it was the first step on the way to expulsion. Percy put her hair in a ponytail because she wanted to. It's not like it's illegal to have your hair in a ponytail.
When Percy walked out of her room and down to the kitchen she found a plate of blue waffles waiting for her. She smiled and poured syrup on them, a lot of syrup. When she was satisfied with the amount of syrup on the waffles she grabbed a fork and knife and started to eat. When she finished it she put the eating utensils and plate in the dishwasher. She tugged at her short skirt again. Then she walked up to the bathroom and brushed her teeth. After she was finished with all that she put on her shoes and took her bike to school. Why a bike? You may ask. The answer was simple, why not? Well, that and that she didn't want to contribute too much to pollution.
When she arrived at the school she quickly parked her bike, locking it to the bicycle stands. Her sea-green eyes examined the crowd of students that were waiting for the school doors to unlock for a certain red headed girl. No, not Rachel, she was looking for Barbara. Around halfway through her search she found her. Barbara sat at an empty bench, looking at her phone. Percy made her way through the crowd of students and finally sat down beside Barbara.
"Sup, Barbara."
Barbara looked up from her phone, slightly surprised. "Percy!"
"Yup, that's me," Percy said.
"Noo, I was totally talking about this other Percy I know," Barbara said sarcastically.
"Really?" Percy said, equally as sarcastic.
The two of them started laughing Barbara glanced down at her phone.
"We're starting in around 10 minutes, just so you know," Barbara said and Percy groaned.
"Ugh, I hate school," Percy said.
"Really?" Barbara said and raised an eyebrow. "I couldn't tell."
Then there was a click that somehow sounded over the whole school yard, despite all the chatting and loud talking being done by other students. The school doors swung open and students started to fill the school corridors. Percy and Barbara stood up and walked into the school, following the stream of students.
When they were inside the schools Percy pulled out a paper from her bag. "Okay, looks like I have locker.. 285."
"Oh?" Barbara asked. "I have 291, so we're at least pretty close to each other, locker wise."
Percy smiled and nodded and they walked towards their lockers. Barbara easily entered her code while Percy had to look at the paper before unlocking hers. "What do you have know? Class wise?" Percy asked.
"Uh, math," Barbara said. "How about you?"
"English," Percy said. "Gods, this is gonna be a nightmare."
Barbara put her backpack in her locker, grabbed her math stuff and locked her locker. Percy did practically the same thing, but she grabbed english stuff. That was where the two friends parted, one walked to math class and the other walked to english class. When Percy walked into the classroom she saw a seating chart on the whiteboard. She walked to her assigned seat which was in the middle on the classroom. She sat beside a girl with wavy brown hair, dark blue eyes, freckles and a fair skin tone. She wore the same school uniform, obviously.
"Hey, I'm Marie Johnson," the girl said with a polite smile.
"I'm Percy Jackson," Percy said and the girl nodded.
Then Percy heard someone walk into the classroom and the everyone fell silent. Percy turned her head to see who it was who had walked into the classroom. Percy smiled when it was none other than her step-father, Paul Blofis. He walked up to the whiteboard and smiled at the class.
"Hello, I'm Mr. Blofis and I'll be your english teacher this year," he said and continued to go on about what we'd be doing this year and other teacher stuff. Maybe english class wouldn't be as bad as she originally thought.
"Any questions?" Pau- Mr. Blofis said.
"Yeah, uh, Mr. Blowfish?" one of the guys in the class said.
Mr. Blofis closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "Its Blofis, not Blowfish, and yes?"
"Oh, okay," the guy said and and proceeded to ask his question.

When english class was over Percy was eager to leave the classroom, it was english class after all. After class Percy met up with Barbara.
"Which english teacher did you have?" Barbara asked.
"Mr. Blofis," Percy said. "My step-father."
"Oh, I think I have him too," Barbara said. "Any things I should know about him."
"Just don't call him blowfish, or Mr. Blowfish and you should be fine," Percy said.
Barbara nodded and they left for their next class.
