Chapter 21 : Zane's Rage (Multiple POVs)

At first, Zane was in shock.

He could not believe what  he just heard come out of that lady's mouth.

He could not...

Right?

His expression immediately turned into rage.

The rage that that little piece of sh-

But as much as he wanted to, he couldn't say anything mean about him.

Keep in mind, he's still a human being, regardless of how fucked-up in the head he is to go this far.

But nonetheless....

Zane was furious.

He could not believe what he just heard.

That dirty, nasty little-

. . .

Kawaii~Chan

I sat down awkwardly with Damien. He looked at me, sweetly as intended possibly, but that menacing glare in his eyes made him look so creepy.

The table we sat at had two rustic chairs, one for me and one for him. I had hardly touched the food. If he had poisoned those flowers, he might have contaminated this food too.

I poked meaninglessly at the food with my fork, not wanting to eat. My stomach clenched in hunger, but I just didn't trust it!

This man is a psychopath.

"Aww honey! Why aren't you eating? Aren't you hungry?" He cocked his head "innocently". But like I said...

Those eyes.

"EAT." He said slowly, sending shivers down my spine. Since when did he get so baleful!?

I slowly picked up a forkful of the meal, my mouth making a weird formation as I felt a sting of disgust. I looked him in the eyes.

I can't believe I was going to let this guy just coerce me like this. I let out a shaky breath as I slowly brought it to my mouth.

I took a bite, and immediately regretted it. I felt weak once again once it hit my tongue. I trembled as the fork still stayed in my mouth.

My eyes screwed shut, trying to fight back for my strength. He smirked even more, just sitting there like the cruel, uncaring man that I've ever seen.

Why is he doing this?

. . . .

Zane

My fists were clenched as I sped-walked angrily back to villa, knowing who exactly took my precious Nana. But I noticed something...

I saw a white bouquet in a silver grey trash bin.

I grabbed a flower that seemed to be completely covered in this weird, sparkly white substance. It was like sparkly powdered sugar.

I had to get it to Lucinda immediately.

I rushed back to the villa, the flower still in my grasps. I began to pick up my pace, trying to get there as fast as possible.

I rushed inside, out of breath from running so fast. I burst into Lucinda and Kim's room.

"Zane! Why are you bursting in through our room for!" Lucinda boomed, looking at me with an annoyed look.

I panted, placing my hands on my knees to support me. I held the flower up with one hand, still out of breath.

"What is that?" Kim piped up, placing her book in an upside-down V on her bed.

"N-Kawaii~Chan...." I muttered.

"Uh.." Lucinda began. "What about her?"

"She was taken-"

"What!?" They both jumped out of bed, shocked. They stood up tall, waiting for me to continue.

"She was taken... by Damien. Someone said that she saw them. This bouquet that I found was the last thing she held before she collapsed, and-"

"Zane, calm down. You're talking too fast." Garroth walked in, most likely to see what all the commotion was about. He placed a hand on my shoulder calmly.

"I just-" I sighed. "This one was covered in this weird sparkly stuff. I don't even know what this substance is! I thought I could give it to you and see if you knew what this was." I explained, handing Lucinda the plant.

She nodded, walking off with it.

"Zane, don't worry. I'm sure Kawaii~Chan will be fine by the time we get her." Kim said, attempting to be optimistic. She smiled sweetly at me to try to cheer me up.

"Yeah Zane! Just chill out." Garroth patted my back. It was kind of comforting, but I felt so overwhelmed.

"You don't know that! If the substance was powerful enough to knock her out, who knows what else he's capable of!?" I bellowed.

"Zane, please-"

"NO! How am I suppose to be a good boyfriend if I can't even protect her form Damien!? I'm not good enough, I was NEVER good enough! She could've been better off with some other guy..."

"..."

"She put her trust in me and I can't even keep her safe! The guy that she admitted things she's never admitted to ANYONE, and they, no, I just sit here like the FAILURE that I am!"

I didn't even care that my mask was resting around my neck.

My face exposed for once in a long time.

I didn't even care that they looked at me with such concern.

Aphmau stood right behind me, hand over her mouth in shock. I turned around to face her, only to feel the burning shame of her gaze.

It was the look of pity.

I know that look all too well.

She came up the hug me tightly, her head pushing into my body. I struggled to hold back my tears that threatened to fall.

Garroth came up and hugged me tightly as well. I felt tears slip out of my eyes as they traveled down. My lip quivered as I sucked it up, brushing them aside.

I walked up to the room me and Garroth shared. I locked the door behind me as I walked upstairs. I sat on the bed for a moment before I couldn't take it anymore.

I broke down, letting out all of the choked back cries that I held in. I held my wrist up to wipe away the tears.

I was never a good partner for her to have. I don't get what makes me different, nor why she even confided in me. I'm not special.

I was never special.

I just don't understand.

There was a knock at the door, but I ignored it. I couldn't be bothered too.

I wanted to be alone.

Like I'm meant to be.

Considering making a tag book so I can post two tags tomorrow without having to add any extra chapters to this book.

I don't think this will be the last time I will be tagged. So, I might as well.
